I'm a bit disappointed with my experience. It's difficult to get an appointment that isn't scheduled far out, and on a few occasions I've received calls asking to reschedule my appointment because the doctor won't be in or most recently, I received a call about three hours beforehand asking if I could come in earlier because the sonographer needed to leave early. It can be difficult for patients to change appointment days or times on short notice, especially when we have to request time off from our employers in advance. Being asked to adjust appointments last minute can be inconvenient and stressful. Once I arrived, the appointment felt somewhat rushed, which left me hoping the echocardiogram was still completed thoroughly. As I was leaving, the front desk staff and receptionist were both on their cell phones and didn't even look up to acknowledge me as I walked out. I understand that schedules can change, but I would suggest improving the scheduling process and maintaining a more professional presence at the front desk so patients feel valued and respected. read more

I saw Dr. Duber for the reason that I have been feeling discomfort in my chest for a long time now and after some evaluation he eventually told me I didn't have any issues with my heart. In one of the appointments though, one of his nurses checked my blood pressure laying down and then told me to sit up and checked it again and she said it was little high. When Dr. Duber came in he said I needed blood pressure medicine but I politely declined. I'm pretty sure that I don't need it. While it seems like he is highly experienced and knowledgeable in his work (I did see a lot of certificates/awards on his wall) I felt like I was being dismissed during my last appointment with him. He's a little short and direct often times making you feel like you're silly. As I was walking out, the very nice lady at the desk next to the exit door of his office let me know (and handed me a notice) that he was in the process of transitioning and becoming independent and also before I was seen, one of the nurses said he was overwhelmed with patients that day and that this is why he was taking long to see me so I believe that this might be the reason he dismissed me quick to kinda get me out the way but all I've got to say is that my experience with him didn't feel personalized. Didn't give it a very low rating due to the nurses who were nice. read more

Top level summary: difficult to schedule and get the right person to help with scheduling. Long waits (30m+) upon arrival at appointment time. Nice staff but they ask redundant questions and don't pull the info first. My first time coming here was to get a pre op approval for surgery, as my GP identified some heart stuff. I ended up with the physicians assistant (PA), who approved it. Not sure if the Dr ever saw my records. Well, there was an issue with my blood pressure during surgery and I was told to urgently see a cardiologist. I came back and again, I didn't see the Dr. They wanted me to do a tilt table test (which I did at San Antonio). Dr was there and immediately identified that I most likely have POTS. Ok. I had a follow up appt but their schedulers miscommunication the times. I have a day job, too, and am a little irked because I had to miss some key meetings during a high priority time. read more

Good visit and amazing Doctors and staff are amazing! I drove over 30 min., there and forgot my wallet with all my information and they were still kind enough to see me. Women at the front are kind, the nurses are kind and patient. The doctors are kind too and very genuine. Dr. Rasanio is who I believe I seen but I've also seen Dr. Bhandari and they are both great. I feel they really want to identify the root cause of your heart issues. The wait is no big deal, you have to wait anywhere you go from bank to grocery store so please be kind and patient. It is terrible to deal with the reception/front desk. Those girls are fake and unsympathetic attitude is displayed by them. Appointments are extremely difficult to schedule. Several appointments had to be scheduled for me. Considering that they do not know what they are talking about, I do not believe they have degrees. The staff did not know that I am an RN, and acted as if I was stupid when I asked questions. Cardiologists there are very busy. It feels like you are being rushed by the doctors but they're very nice. Btw, parking is horrible also. I'm changing doctors. Should have thought looked at the reviews before my life/care was in their hands. read more

If you have a 3pm appointment show up at 6pm because they are never on time and literally hours behind. Not right to waste peoples time when they plan their day around the appointment. I had stuff to do so I left after waiting over an hour for what they said would be 20-30 minutes so I should've been out of there by 3:30 then they tell me at 4pm it would be another 1.5 hours before I can be seen FOR MY APPOINTMENT???? Really disappointed. There is a significant language barrier with Dr Ahn at least I couldn't understand him. Went through three tests only to realize today, he didn't even know why I was there initially. He also didn't know I take medication. He knew less than my PA so why did I even go and use all my time off from work? I think he should review my chart and symptoms and then repeat what he said. Is mitral valve prolapse "normal " when you have extremely low blood pressure in the morning and throughout the day, migraine headaches and fatigue to the extreme you can't get up for work? Maybe, but I don't trust him with anything to do with my heart. And reading the reviews, doesn't sound like there is a great cardiologist there. read more

I completed their online form for an appointment. Someone called me the next day. So the two stars are for that. After speaking with the person and giving her the details, and emailing her my insurance cards, she was supposed to check and call me back for the appointment time/date at a mutually agreed time. She never did. Not even the following day which was also a business day. I hope the practice will take this as constructive feedback and in good 'heart' to improve their processes. I hope the core of their practice, cardiology, is more hands on and adhere to higher standards of quality. read more

My appointment was setup a year ago for an annual checkup. I arrived 20 mins early for my appointment. I didn't get called in until 20 mins after my scheduled time. I was briefly (no more than 2 mins. each) seen by a nurse and an assistant at separate times. Each of them told me the doctor will be in shortly to see me. 40 mins. passed and no one came in. By the time the Dr. came in with the nurse assistant I've waited 1 hour past my scheduled appointment time that was booked a year in advance. In total, I've waited 1.5 hrs for a 5 min session with the doctor to say everything looks good. I am never going back to this place. I wasn't the only one waiting a long time to see the doctor. A younger man was waiting a long time and one of the front office lady said to him "You're still waiting? No one called you in yet?" And said she'll check on his file to see when he's next. read more

So I'd like to recap my care at Elite Cardiology, I am no longer with this group and no longer with Larry Chan. He did not take care of me to the best of his ability at all. I was denied a life saving RX, I was told after receiving an Echocardiogram that I had Heart Failure and only a 21% ejection fraction to take the 4 medicines he gave me and come back in 6 months. This was unacceptable to say the least. He was very arrogant, cocky, and told me he has 185 more patients just like me. He complained that I asked too many questions and basically he is too busy to answer me. Very sad. Also he has too many patients to take care of them all. Overworked. I switched to the best Cardiologist in the world. I was given 2 bottles of the heart Medicine he said I couldn't have on my 1st visit to her. She put me in a LIFE VEST for 2 months because she was scared I could die of " Sudden Cardiac Death." She started me on 7 RXs and had me do Blood Work every 3 months. Put me on a special diet, liquid restriction, exercise. And I'm very proud of all my hard work and my excellent care that it's been 6 months and I am recovered. My ejection fraction is now 55% my heart is normal and healthy. If I would not of left Elite Cardiology I don't know where I would be. I needed this to be said because I have never been made to feel like a problem child or patient and I felt so bad about my diagnosis in the first place and for Dr Larry Chan to just dismiss me so easily was very very disappointing. read more

My most recent visit was 5 star. I feel strongly that they are making the efforts to improve. Dr Samarrany is amazing. Prior to this visit, getting a call back, wait times and front office staff was really lacking. I would leave phone messages with his assistant numerous times and would not get called back. His new assistant Laurie called me right back and handled what I needed right away! Super refreshing. WORST experience ever. Performed a TEE on my elderly mother in September. Results showed leaky valve which Dr Samanary identified as "severe" went to follow up consultation the following week and was told that he needed to consult with his partners to prescribe the next course of action.. we were unable to speak with anyone until January 23 (not a typo) at which time we were referred to another Dr. called the other Dr.. spoke with their office to start the process.. called a week later only to be told that they were waiting for Elite to release the drs notes.. no sense of urgency, office staff seems used to angry patients stay away at ALL costs.. read more

Dr. Rasania is is a good dr. but his office staff are awful. I had tests done. Follow up for results one month later. Then they called and said needed to move it two more months out. months is not acceptable to leave someone with a heart issue in anxiety waiting to be seen for a results. I went in to discuss it and they ladies were rude and had a smart ass look on their face and said I could not change doctors I just had to wait. read more

Still a one star. I saw my PCP today and wanted to know how I was doing on my Nitroglycerin. I told her I didn't even know what that was, she said it was the little pill you put under your tongue for Angina. I never was prescribed this medication, but there it was in the records she has access to. I'll be turning them in. read more

I've been to Elite Cardiology a few times already. This review is is not regarding the doctor I'm seeing or the care received. This about the front office staff!! These girls at the front desk of suite 9 carry on, laughing and talking loud, swapping stories, giggling like "teenagers at the mall" it's highly unprofessional and unbecoming of such an establishment since there's people there with serious medical conditions and getting treatment isn't a laughing matter in the least. Do not come to this doctor. The staff is extremely rude and the doctor seems like he doesn't even know what he's doing. I would advise anybody to stay away, and there is a serious language barrier. Dr.Larry Chan is really amazing. I've had a long couple year of countless doctor visits with many docs and Dr Larry chan has been one of the best. Took a long time to process information with me and ask questions and listen. I never once felt rushed or judged or uncomfortable. He is very kind and really does want to help his patients. He does not just shoo you away if he thinks you're fine but takes his time with you and will help you consider options of what to do going forward. It was also easy to make an appointment with him and his office staff is friendly and communicative. I would recommend his care to anyone. read more

Care given by the doctors is excellent - I never feel rushed. However, the office staff is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! They do not return phone calls - they write out appointments on cards given to you on a certain date/time but input your appoint dates and times in the computer differently. As I am writing this review, I have been on hold for 17 minutes! This is my 3rd time trying to contact the reception/office this week and I am frustrated from being on hold forever so I then leave a message to call me back. No call until 2 days later and I miss the call. I Call back and the whole BS starts all over again. I was caller #5 then 3 then 1 and now I am back to caller #5 in the queue. ABSOLUTE WORST. It's not as if the doctors are unaware of this. As I have brought this up with My doctor and he said they were aware or "yes, I've heard." This is why they get 1 star and they would get no stars if that were possible. Well, it's 5:15 pm now and no return call. Again, my doctor is excellent the staff needs a lot of work. I found a new cardiologist. I would not recommend this place! It used to be a good office with great staff, but things changed. I had a test, and it showed something was wrong, but no one contacted me, so I ended up in the hospital six weeks later with fluid around my heart and lungs. Then, the hospital sent me home with a prescription, for another similar medication to one I have been taking. The pharmacist caught it; after, I had been taking both a couple months. The office staff is completely incompetent. No more San Antonio Regional Hospital or Elite Cardiology. Thank God, I'm still alive to tell this story. read more

Avoid this place, the staff is awful first of all. They are not on top of anything, test, billing, messages, they are not kind, and obviously don't realize that people are coming here for serious and scary health issues. The place is falling apart and the doctors are in such a hurry, it's like they are literally on a time buzzer with you. Just awful service for such a serious part of your body ( your heart!) people should feel at ease and validated, not a customer in a checkout line. It's a very clean clinic and the staff is very helpful. They are very quick to help but my only complaint with this clinic is regards to putting in medication. My father and I were informed that his medication would be done by the time we arrived back to our city, the kind lady at the front desk of Suite 10 (I believe her name is Jenny) had told us that they would be calling the pharmacy so we would be able to pick up said medication. We had waited a good 2 hours before heading to the pharmacy and then waiting another 1 hour because of a long line only to be told that the pharmacy never received prescription from the clinic. A bit confused, I decided to call the clinic once again only to be told that they never called the pharmacy or put in the order for my dad's medication. It's a shame that a nice place has incompetent staff, I hope in the future that they will be able to do their job correctly as well as informing their patients properly. My appointment was for 11:30 am I waited one hour in a very crowded room .. Some people were turned away because there Dr was not there.. I was escorted in for a consultation by a PA in training.. Very nice and asked a ton of questions. Second was a nurse I believe and then the Dr who promptly scolded the PA for his entries that he said were highlighted and not completed.. in front of me the patient.. So I ask a few questions and said we're is the plack?? Dr said we can't see it maybe inside the heart.. and asked for questions about symptoms.. As I left I was informed the scheduling person for surgery was at lunch.. Ok so later that day I get a call from Desiree.. she suggested a date and told me I would have to make appointments at city of hope for presurgery stuff and then go to an urgent care for Covid test.. I have to make those appointments what do you do.. she said I was rude,, ok . I'm the patient and your paid to make sure I'm prepared for surgery.. so why aren't you preparing me.. I'm going to cancel .. I've had all these tests and they can't see plack perhaps there isn't any.. or they need to show me and explain more .. I'm out.. read more
