I meant to write this long ago, but was so disgusted by experiences I had here that I honestly wanted to just erase this lady from My energy and mind. Adjustment wise-- Iris was alright. I would always have a weird feeling on one side of My back that I never experienced anywhere else, and I have had better chiropractors, but I won't say she doesn't do a good job. That is where the 1star is from. With that said-- this is not a safe place for Black people. My first session, she pulled the 'All my friends are Black' trope with Me. Iris literally told Me "50% of them are dem and 50% are rep. I'm just here in the middle trying to hold them all together. Not like Jesus though; ego." Equating her self as a white savior then acting like anyone even compared her to Jesus other than her self. This woman emphasizes with trump. She bragged about loving Candance Owens; and literally tried to debate Me about the fact that Candance Owens perpetuates racism and self hate. She also has American flags everywhere.. including in a Buddhas hand lol. I also heard her arguing with another patient over Kyle Rittenhouse(another white man was disgusted by him and was nervous he wouldn't be charged). Her response, "Well I'm more worried about THEM burning down buildings." 'Them' meaning My people-- Black people. He told her, "You mean standing up for them selves and fighting for their rights?" Her response in an aggressive and condescending tone, "You mean just burning down buildings." This man actually held her accountable to which he asked her, "Well what do you do to make the situation better for the Black community?" She responded as a typical, privileged, entitled white woman "What do you mean?! Look at me! I'm here healing you. I'M A HEALER. I HEAL." As if that had anything to do with what he said. Nor is she a healer, she's a paid chiropractor that wouldn't be offering services if she didn't need a career or money. She then proceeded to come into My room and try to bring the conversation up with Me which was immediately shut down, only to be followed by her telling Me a story of her feeling victimized. Typical. Every session here was Iris coming into the room, talking about her self, unprompted. Constantly reiterating that she's an independent that sides more with reps, and just being completely ignorant and self absorbed when all I wanted was to just get My adjustments. The only reason I ever went back here after My first session was that I had paid for multiple sessions already upfront and had forgotten to cancel the second automatic charge. I honestly didn't even schedule My last paid session because I didn't want this woman touching My chakras anymore. Nor did I want to have to deal with being in a toxic environment for a Black person. If you're into ignorance, entitlement, and racism, then this is the place for you and I'm sure you won't mind her behavior or the convos. If you're a Black person, I would recommend doing more research to find another place. The cute lights, lasers, and aesthetic don't make up for the experience. read more

TLDR: Feels like car salesman energy with a stylish, holistic facade. I was a customer of Halo Chiropractic a while ago when I was experiencing some lower back pain. After only a few sessions I felt really turned off by the place, and my experience always felt confusing because their reviews are so positive. I recently hurt my back again so I was on Yelp searching for a chiropractor, and obviously, Halo shows up high in the search results. After reading Les A's experience it made me feel slightly more validated, so I wanted to finally leave a review about some things I wish I had known. I'm into the holistic stuff so Halo seemed to align with the type of service I was looking for at the time. Especially compared to traditional, sports injury, male-dominated type chiropractic spaces. The front desk staff was sweet and professional. They gave me the intake form on my first visit and I was surprised at how personal it was. I felt a little uncomfortable filling out some of the questions, but at the time I was thinking maybe it would help her "get me.." ? Then I was told that Dr. Iris was not in and I would be getting my service done by someone else. This threw me off because when you look at reviews, you want your service to be done by the person that people rave about. I wish they had let me know prior to my appointment because I definitely would have rescheduled. With that said, the other chiropractor was nice and I had no issues with the adjustment, it just wasn't what I was expecting. After my session, I was pressured to book another appointment. Since I didn't get to work with Dr. Iris, I decided to come back. Luckily the next time, she was there. I understand why she has good reviews, especially in LA. She is very charismatic and stylish. I wanted to love my experience with her so much. And while she seemed nice, something didn't sit right. I didn't feel like she took time to listen to what I was experiencing. She seemed rushed or maybe distracted. We started late. She began working with me and then left the room to help someone else. One of the first things she said to me is that it looks like I'm growing a hump as she grabbed my upper back fat. This is kind of alarming and embarrassing if you've never heard that term before. I was freaked out and asked what she was talking about and how I should fix it. She said don't worry I'll give you exercises when we're done (she didn't). She told me next time to drink more water because my pops weren't satisfying enough. It just didn't feel like the calm "healing" vibe I was expecting based on other reviews. Other than that, the adjustment was standard and it was fine. Maybe we just didn't click. Afterward, I was encouraged to buy an expensive package. The front desk girl told me that Dr. Iris had come up with a treatment plan for me, which of course included more sessions. I told them I wasn't interested in a package (I was struggling financially at the time). They then pushed another appointment so hard. They wouldn't take no for an answer and had a comeback to every excuse I made. I ended up making another appointment because I'm really bad with confrontation. It was so uncomfortable and felt like a cheap gym. Once you're in the door, you can never leave. I still receive text messages from them to this day. While checking out, I mentioned that Dr. Iris said she was going to give me some exercises or stretches, but they said she was already in the room with another client and that I could talk to her next time about it. My back pain was about 30% better after 2 visits, which was something. However, I decided to see another chiropractor who diagnosed my issue right away just by looking at the way I was standing. It took one adjustment to make my situation 100% better. I know a simple solution like this is not the case for a lot of people, but I would've spent hundreds of dollars trying to fix my issue via Halo's expensive packages. When I was sitting in the lobby, I didn't see one person NOT sign up for the treatment package. This is a lot to push on your customers. Even when people were clearly hesitant, they kept pushing. It felt a bit predatory and manipulative. I understand why people would like it here on the surface, but the energy just didn't sit right with me. read more

I've been in chiropractic care for the past five years, but I have not seen as much progress in my healing as I have in the two to three months that I have been under Dr. Iris' care. The office has such a welcoming vibe - from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. Autumn and Raphaella are absolutely wonderful with their customer service, always taking the time to check in with each individual patient when they arrive, see how they're doing, and clearly explaining every exercise and detail of the patient's care, financial options, etc. Dr. Iris is incredibly thorough in her care, engaging in thoughtful conversation with the patient to explain what she's doing and why. As I previously mentioned, I've been in chiropractic care for five years - but until seeing Dr. Iris, I was oblivious to what was going on in my body. Dr. Iris makes sure that is not the case when you see her. She thoroughly explained the details of my x-rays to me early on in my time seeing her - and explained how we would be correcting what we saw, and painting a picture of what we want those x-rays to look like as we progress. I also see Kara for monthly massages. She is amazing and thorough, tailoring each individual massage to the patient and what they need on that day. On top of that, her music choice is incredibly mindful - really allowing for patients to relax into a meditative state of mind. She offers reasonably priced 60 minute and 90 minute massages, you can't go wrong with either. On top of chiropractic care and massages, Halo Chiropractic offers acupuncture, energy healing, and sound baths. The office is conveniently located in Hollywood, with ample free parking in the back of the building. I didn't know much about chiropractic practice, but an injury from weight lifting would soon lead me in the direction. I started seeing Iris in 2016 when i moved here to Hollywood, she came highly recommended.
