I haven't taken clothing to a cleaners in ages but wanted to give two wool coats the special treatment and have them professionally cleaned. One is a vintage wool car coat (shorter than the usual length of a coat) from Eileen Fisher, something I bought about 35 years ago. Another is a dark dark purpleish 3/4 length coat, with great sentimental value. So I was hesitant to turn these over and take a chance. However, I can say without reservation that Elite Cleaners II did an excellent job! The colors look more vibrant, esp. the Eileen Fisher coat, which is a dark teal. And that they use a "wet" method and not chemicals was a plus. The items were ready one week later. Yes, you can expect to pay more for their service, although I don't know if the $53.00 for two coats would be standard or not. At any rate, to my mind, it was well worth it. Brought jeans in to be hemmed on a Wednesday, told they'd be ready for pick up following Tuesday. Received a call on Monday, told they would not be ready until Friday. Received a call on FRIDAY, told they could not hem them at all. Very disappointed in the lack of apology for stringing us along for over a week on a job they promised but could not actually come through on. We could have taken them somewhere else to be altered in that time frame. Frustrating. We'll go elsewhere for our dry cleaning and alterations. read more

I asked how much a dress would be to dry clean, was told $17. I dropped off 2 dresses to be cleaned, after the dresses were inspected, was told again they would be $17 a piece. I just picked them up and was charged $23 a piece. I brought up my previous conversation and the lady shrugged and said "sorry?" Just beware, I would get any quotes in writing. Super weird to have to do that. This wasn't a gown. These were regular office dresses and $17 was still high but it was close to my house. read more

I travel a lot and use dry cleaners on both coasts and in several cities in the Midwest. Elite Cleaners in A2 is the best. They use a different cleaning process and my clothes are not only very clean but they smell fresh (not like chemicals). I was skeptical at first but damn -- my shirts, slacks, blazers, and suits are clean and fresh every time. I have even brought shirts and suits that had stains that my cleaners back home in SF could not clean and EC got all of the stains out. Saved two of my BBs all cotton dress shirts from being tossed out and that saved me $150+! Friendly owners, great service, and fair prices. What more can you ask for? read more

A little caveat to this review: I've never had anything dry cleaned in Michigan, so I really can't compare this cleaner to anyone else. I dropped of my hubs suit to get dry cleaned, which came out to $11.50. I thought it was a bit high, but according to my cousin, whose parents run a dry cleaning business, it's a pretty good price. When I dropped of the suit, I met both the owners, who were very friendly and pretty talkative. I felt like I was talking to my own aunt and uncle! I also asked them about getting my wedding dress tailored and was told they have someone come in to do tailoring and the cost would be around $100 or more, depending on what I wanted done to the dress. Prior to dropping off the suit, I went to a different tailor that quoted me $35-75, so based on that, I thought they were a little high and decided to go elsewhere. But I kind of wished that I at least took my dress to them to give me a better price range, since I'm paying a little over $100 now. Anywho, they did a good job on my hubs suit and only took a two day period. read more

My parents owned a cleaning business for my entire life up until high school. I also worked at their store for about 4 years, therefore I feel like I have a bit of knowledge about this trade. When I came to Ann Arbor, I had a difficult time finding a good cleaning place. I tried several stores and just settled on one after trying about six. I can't believe it took me 8 year to find this place. I think it's literally the best cleaners I've ever encountered. They have good prices, excellent customer service (they are super friendly), and they use a eco-friendly cleaning machine that DOESN'T use a harsh chemical called "perc" which is pretty much used by all other dry cleaners (that stuff can really mess you up in the long run). The clothes also come out really nicely. If you're in the area, I think you should give this place a try. read more

This place is amazing. Most of my clothes are dry clean only, and, as a result, I've been to a ridiculous number of cleaners. They are the best. Hands down. Best. Not only do they do an incredible job - once removing almost four year old water stains from a white blazer - but they are also amazing people - once, when I had a deflated tire, which I was unaware of, one of the owners got his gauge to check my tire and let me keep the gauge for a week until my tire stabilized. I really like the owners, they're like the wonderfully kind godparents I never had. I've been going here with 10ish pieces at least twice a week for the past year and a half, and they have done nothing but a wonderful job. I highly, highly recommend this place. read more

Prior to discovering Elite Cleaners II, I took my dry cleaning to (many) different places on campus, and frequently the shirts I got back (still) had small blemishes on them. I decided to drive a bit further down State St. after reading glowing reviews of EC2 on Yelp. Simply put - they are the best. The husband and wife that run the business have been extremely courteous, and the attention to detail with garment cleaning is remarkable; not once have I had to take shirts back to have them cleaned again. They tie the sleeves together over the front of the shirt with a small plastic pin, so that the shirt arms don't flap around when you're moving the shirts back from your car and into your residence. The attention to detail is noticed, and that's why I keep coming back there with my business. Spend a little extra time driving out from campus, you'll be glad you did. read more

I walk in frantically with a suit, a jacket, a dress (I haven't worn in a year) and a pair of pants in need of dry cleaning ASAP. I need half of the pieces done for a GALA and I am freaking out. I come from crosstown because I decided to trust in the YELP community and man, am I glad I did? YES! A nice man answers the phone and says, "Do not worry. We can get them done in that time." I leave my house on faith and when they told me to come back at 4PM tomorrow, just a mere 3 hours before the start of the event, not only are my clothes done, but the nice man helps me with the clothes to my car. $50 - I will not lie - seems a bit steep, but to turn the clothes around and return them to near-mint condition after a year+, I could not be happier. If I ever have urgent dry cleaning needs again, I'm not going anywhere else. That would be silly! read more

AMAZING. Such a great deal for the quality and service. No question about giving them 5 stars! The owners are so kind and friendly, they even helped me take my (large armful of) items to my car. I've given them coats, blazers, pants, shirts, and everything has been handled with such care. My clothes come back clean, well pressed, and smelling lovely. And fast! They are very efficient, but don't sacrifice on quality. The prices are extremely fair, especially given the quality of service. I searched for a dry cleaner in Ann Arbor for a long time before finally landing on elite cleaners. They are HANDS-DOWN the best dry cleaners in town! I took in a vintage Burberry jacket with a zip out wool liner and they were quick with the service, cleaned it to perfection, and now it looks far better than it did when it was new! I've only been here once so far, but I had a good experience. I dropped off my winter coat to be dry cleaned a couple of weeks ago (nothing like waiting until the last minute!) and it had some gross stain from 6+ months ago I'd completely forgotten about. I showed the woman at the counter the stain, and when I got my coat back 4-5 days later, it was PERFECT! Looked brand new, but without that typical nasty dry cleaning smell. Apparently this place doesn't use chemicals. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because of the cost- $16 and some change. My fiancé goes here for all his dry cleaning needs. The family I babysit for also goes here weekly! Their service is fast and friendly. They try their best to get stains out and provide the service you are asking for. My fiancé has gotten a pair of pants altered perfectly and a hole in his pants pocket fixed. They were able to get a stain out of his shirt with no problems. It only takes a couple days for them to get the job done! The best dry cleaner in A2 by far. Someone had previously recommended another cleaner on Packard, but my clothes kept coming back shiny and threadbare from the harsh chemicals. They had done a good job for previous visits, but then insisted they needed to patch a moth hole in my husbands suit jacket. When we got it back, It was horrible. They used a thread that didn't match and simply embroidered all over the hole and it looked awful. We thought his vintage suit was ruined. When we said we wanted our money back and this was not what we wanted they had the nerve to argue with us and refuse, till they finally gave in. I don't have much dry cleaning, but this is my new go-to place to take it. I brought them an off-white faux-suede coat with hot cocoa stains on it, plus a bunch of pants. Not only did they get the stains out, one of the owners knew exactly what I had brought in the week before (down to what needed creases and what didn't) without me saying a word AND brought everything out to my car in the freezing cold. On top of all that, they're a green cleaner, i.e. no uber-toxic dry cleaning solvents. Yay! read more

Warning! This place is very overpriced. I lived in NYC and not even there did I pay what I paid here for cleaning some shirts and a short dress. When I got the bill and saw the total I asked for a breakdown of the prices and they were very annoyed at my request. Then when I asked why it was so much they had no answer other than there are very few cleaners in Austin and there's less competition ( from which I inferred that they can charge whatever they want). I had been growing suspicious of my previous dry cleaner because a number of items were being returned to me pressed, but not cleaned. I took to Yelp when I discovered a spot on my linen blazer that had been cleaned months ago and put away for the winter. Elite did an amazing job getting out that stain and cleaning my wool suits (shawarma stain and all) and cotton skirts. Everything came back without that chemical smell most dry cleaners have and all the fabrics feel smooth and clean, like new! I could not recommend this place enough! read more

I do not live close to this place, and in fact I drive by several other dry cleaners to get here. It's worth it. They do a fantastic job and are very friendly and accommodating. I don't know how I missed this place when first looking for a dry cleaners, but I will always be returning here. Last summer's wedding season meant food/water/drink stains all over my dresses, and one got a particularly bad run. I took these items originally to a cleaners closer to my house, and got them back with the stains still there! It took a dog peeing on me recently to get my clothing cleaned. I now thank that dog because my skirts came back odor free and stain free, and my one dress that had stains EVERYWHERE came back with none! The owners took their time with the dress and were meticulous in their stain removal, holding it for an extra day to remove one little stain that was causing them trouble. I will now make the 20 min drive across town for all of my dry cleaning needs. If you can leave a dry cleaners feeling ecstatic about your experience, it's worth your time and money. read more

This is the best dry cleaning place I've ever been to. I needed my wedding dress cleaned before the wedding, so I was very nervous, but they did a great job. They also cleaned my husband's wedding suit without a problem. After the wedding we brought our stuff back. The bottom of my dress had turned black from dragging on the ground. They cleaned it over and over again and then bought some special silk cleaner to try and get the stain out. Unfortunately, that didn't get the stain completely out either, but they insisted on not charging me, even though they went above and beyond trying to get the job done right. I will definitely be back next time I need something dry cleaned. read more

They did a great job altering a bridesmaid dress for me- shortened it and took it in on the sides on the fitted part near the rib cage. Very professional and it turned it out really well. I have been going to Elite Cleaners now since I had moved to Ann Arbor 2 months ago. It was going well until recently when I had brought a load of clothes in. I brought 5 shirts in (including one of my favorite shirts) before a vacation. I didn't check the receipt at the time but apparently they had only put down 4 shirts as what I had brought in. When I picked up my order, 4 shirts were there but was missing the 5th, my favorite shirt. I went back in to ask them about it, and not only was it missing - the woman actually LAUGHED at the idea that they may have lost my shirt or given it to someone else. It's one thing to lose an item, and to be fair, I should have checked the receipt to make sure the whole order was correctly captured - but to be laughed out of there was terrible. I would not use Elite if you are looking for good customer service or accountability. read more

When I first moved to MI, I was a bit lost at where to go for a dry cleaner. A coworker suggested Elite Cleaners and shared that they were just like family. Well was she RIGHT! These owners are incredibly customer orientated and treat your clothes as if they were there own. On top of that they remember me every time I go in....no need to remind them, they are not only one step ahead of you, but have taken my clothes to my car, gone the "extra mile" to get out a stubborn stain and share with me some inside tips at taken care of those special items. I started going there in September 2014 when I moved to A2_ I read reviews on Yelp and chose them based on these reviews_ they were fine _ too much starch on the shirts, although I emphasize "no starch" every time _ never worked! Then I took several shirts and they ripped one shirt while trying to unbutton the collar _ but, a bigger problem, they accused me of bringing it that way _ accidents happen, but I wish they acknowledged and apologized instead _ i said this is an expensive shirt, the answer was : we only charge $1.25 to laundry it! They would not acknowledge their mistake and they kept their mantra about how great they are. So they were OK, until an accident happened, and accidents do happen- at which point they lied _ I am not going back to this "great" cleaner. read more

I've been coming here for about 3 years and they've consistently done a great job with my clothes. This is a 30-minute round trip completely out of the way for me and yes, the cost is a tad bit higher than some places but it is still worth it. I brought a pair of Ugg slippers and a pair of Ugg boots here to be cleaned. I believe they ship them out because it took two weeks to get them back. The boots, which were a mess came back spotless. The slippers, which were also a mess, came back in ok shape. On the slippers there was still some gunk stuck in the crack of the sole and some obvious fuzz on the inside. I'm not sure why one pair was cleaned perfectly and one pair seemed to have some easily cleaned areas neglected. Cheaper than new Uggs. :) read more
