When I called to ask, they just dropped United Heathcare a week prior to my appointment and failed to mention this when I gave them my insurance card at the beginning of my appointment. I responded with a request to cancel my appointment due to my dental insurance expiring. Laine, the Practice Manager, responded to my cancellation request to say that Droel "always verifies benefits/eligibility before your scheduled appointment" (with many typos). She also specifically told me that I am covered for the next ~8.5 months based on the Delta Dental benefit calendar. She ended her text with "You are definitely eligible to come in :)" About a month after my appointment, I was again contacted via text to say that "the plan we had on file seems to have terminated which has left a pretty hefty balance on your account" of over $1,000. This is extremely frustrating given what I mentioned above. I trusted Droel to be the experts on dental insurance coverage since it is something they deal with on a daily basis, but instead I'm left wondering if they are dishonest or downright predatory toward their patients on purpose. Despite their negligence on this issue, they refused to offer me any sort of concession on my balance due, and even threatened to send it to a collection agency. On top of this, their quality of care is severely lacking. Wait times are extremely long for any sort of procedure beyond a routine cleaning, which leads me to believe that the doctor, Andy is stretching his practice too thin. I've also had to have multiple follow-up visits to fix sharp edges and uneven fillings, further reinforcing that Droel only cares about volume and not patient satisfaction. While I'm fortunate enough to be able to just pay this balance and avoid any further conflict, I'm afraid that this is not an isolated issue with Droel Family Dentistry, and that their subpar level of care could lead to a significant financial burden for others. I hope this review does something to combat that. Neither I nor my family will be returning to Droel Family Dentistry for any future dental care needs.

Dr. Franco put a crown on an upper back tooth. I had pain that did not resolve so I returned to…read moreher and she made an adjustment. She said if I continued having pain to return in a couple of months. It was clear that same day that the problem was not resolved. I didn't want to wait a couple months so I found a different dentist. He made 4 adjustments over the period of a year, and I continued to have pain. Finally, he said he needed to remove the crown to see what was going on. It turned out that Dr. Franco had left decay under the crown. The tooth was very irritated so he put a temporary on with the hope it would quiet down. It did not. Ultimately, he had to pull it. I wrote to Dr Franco and asked her to return the money that I had paid for the crown, and to pay to replace the tooth. She returned the money for the crown, but she did not pay to replace the tooth. The letter she sent with the refund said "as a courtesy" she was refunding the money. No apology, no acknowledgment of the decay she left under the crown, and no acknowledgment that I lost the tooth.

I'm really impressed with Personal Care Dentistry after being a patient at Park Dental for years. The hygienists are lovely people (shout out to Brianne, if I remember her name correctly, she's amazing), and mostly good communicators. I had to get my permanent retainer removed, and they offered a much more reasonable price for the work, including replacing it with a better version. They recently made huge renovations to their clinic (thanks to building equipment malfunction on an upper level), so it's very new and clean. They do charge extra for credit cards, which can be a lot when the bill is so large (as it often is with the lack of dental insurance coverage. They do offer 5% off when your insurance doesn't cover the expense). Parking: free in a parking lot

She acted like she didn't have time for me, even though I had an appointment. There have been a couple of very unfriendly people at the front desk who act like they hate life and their jobs. Also, we have tranferred to another dentist after several years with this office, due to them telling us we could not make any more appointments because I had to reschedule a few due to school obligations, even though we gave notice. It's our fault we had to cancel, but their hours are limited and not very compatible with school or work hours.

I went in for a routine exam/cleaning and found I had two cavities. They were able to get them filled in that appointment and took scans for retainers so my teeth don't shift (sorry, mom, the dog ate mine from grade school). All in the same appointment! Every staff member I interacted with was warm and pleasant. Special shout out to Paige for her exceptional care and consideration. She was sure to explain everything that was happening or going to happen throughout the entire appointment. Truly a top notch dental assistant! Dr. Christoper Coulter was wonderful as well and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process and took special measures to ensure maximum comfort and satisfaction during a dreaded process. Monika was the dental hygienist that cleaned my teeth and she also took special measures to ensure I understood what she was looking for and how the process was going to work. Overall, no one really enjoys going to the dentist, but this place is top notch. By far the best dental clinic I have ever been to.
