I had made the professional work I did my identity, and that was gone. Today I'm engaged in my life again. I do fun stuff. I like myself a little more And I haven't had drink in 4 years. For the two weeks I was there I was treated with such a great host of staff members in multiple positions. you all really took care of me in so many ways. I felt the concern of my well being, pleasant and joyful in serving me. From nurses, doctors, therapists, dialysis, food service, housekeeping , others in the hallways were very friendly. My experience with Brooks Rehabilitation was extremely frustrating and poorly managed…read more It took three weeks just to get an initial evaluation scheduled once I was given the ok from my surgeon following surgery. I was told they offered late appointments (4-6 PM), which is the only reason I agreed to move forward. That turned out to be false--the latest appointment they offer is 4 PM. I adjusted my schedule anyway and booked eight sessions 2 weeks after the initial appointment . I then get a call, one week before my appointment saying they made a mistake and scheduled me with a therapist who only handles Workers' Comp cases. Now all of my appointments have to be redone. Their solution? Daytime appointments that don't work for anyone with a normal job. Between the long wait, misinformation, and careless scheduling errors, this place clearly does not have their operations together. I will not be using Brooks Rehabilitation services.

I've been seeing Dr. Madkaiker for 4 or 5 years now, since my last psychiatrist retired. I saw a…read morecouple of other psychiatrists before I found Dr. Madkaiker and when I saw him for my first visit, I knew he was the doctor for me. Like most psychiatrists, appointments are not very long. They are not therapists; they are there to manage your medications. Dr. Madkaiker has been very good to me. When I first started seeing him, I had been on the same medications for many years and they had been working great. He listened to me and actually believed me and that I knew about my body and he kept me on the same meds. Many other new doctors want to start changing meds around. I'm of the mindset of "if it's not broke, don't fix it." When I had cancer and had to have a kidney removed, I had no choice but to finally get off one medication that was helping me the most because it would have interfered with my kidney function and I only have the one left. He took me down off that medication and then introduced a new medication. The new medication he chose doesn't work quite as well as the other one (but we knew it wouldn't), but it does work pretty darn well. He always listens at each visit and he makes suggestions and allows me to choose my treatment with him. It really makes me feel like I have a say in what is happening with my mind and body. Telehealth appointments! Yes! I'm all about those! His front office staff is phenomenal! Tommy works the front office and I absolutely love him! He's usually the one who calls me and I'm always thrilled when he answers the phone! I like the other people in the front office too, but I just feel Tommy has made a point to get to know me and I enjoy talking with him. I love the fact that after Telehealth appointments, they always call me within half an hour or so to make my next appointment. Major points for that because I would totally forget! If you are in need of a psychiatrist, I highly recommend Dr. Madkaiker. I've been seeing shrinks since 1987 and he is one of the best I have ever seen!! Wheelchair and service dog friendly!
