    Baptist Cardiac testing center

My mom needed a Holter Monitor. Starting with the scheduling all the way to the actual visit everything went so smoothly. The valet parking was a God-send & we did not have to wait too long to get a wheel chair. This hospital is super ADA friendly. The scheduling team were very helpful and gave me all info I needed to prepare. I spoke to three different ones & they were all great. The staff at the testing center were so nice, caring & helpful. It helps any patient who may be a little apprehensive about their procedure. My mom had a wonderful experience & was comfortable the whole time. Hope you won't be needing their services but if you do, I highly recommend this facility.

    Beautiful view.

Superior care for my husband's heart condition. We really felt heard which is not always the case.

I wish I could give 0 stars! My mother passed out several times that evening, and I called 911 at…read moreapproximately 8:07 p.m. The ambulance arrived around 8:20 p.m. We were told that we could not ride with her in the ambulance, but that we could follow behind to the hospital. When we arrived, we were instructed to go to the ER waiting room, let staff know who we were with, and that once my mother was placed in a room, we would be able to go to the back. While my sister and I were in the waiting room, a staff member called my mother's last name, told us she could now have two visitors, gave us a pass, and used her key card to let us in the back. Once we walked to the back, a tall man in scrubs immediately stopped us, put his hands up, and questioned why we were there. We explained that we had just been called and shown a visitor pass. He said we should not be there and then brought over another woman, who also spoke to us in an aggressive and dismissive manner. After we explained multiple times that we were following the instructions we had just been given, we were eventually allowed through. As we walked toward my mother's room, one of the EMTs grabbed my arm and said, "You know you're not supposed to follow us here." I told him I did not know anything about that, that I was only worried about my mother, and that we had followed the instructions given to us. He then became more aggressive and got in my face. This was an extremely upsetting experience. My mother was having a medical emergency, and instead of being treated with professionalism and compassion, my sister and I were met with hostility, aggression, and disrespect.

The staff seem to have a problem with communication with each other and with the patients…read more After jumping through all the hoops and pulling my hair out trying to communicate with the PAs through the systems they told me to use, on the day of the surgery the staff was thorough and professional. Now the headache begins with all the bills. I asked at each appointment before the surgery what I owed or would owe, I got a run-around, and once I was told I didn't owe anything for one appointment. Then the bills start to trickle in. When I asked why I wasn't informed there would be a charge for a visit after being told there was no charge that day- all they said was, sorry for the miscommunication and asked- how I wanted to pay for it. I paid and was told there would be one bill coming for the surgery, but that isn't true either. So far two bills. I can't complain about the surgery (they were great) but - the hospital will nickel and dime you to death after the treatment. Why they can't coordinate billing and be up front about a planned surgery and appointments is beyond me. I wish I could give them more stars but I probably would get a bill for that as well. Baptist Hospital needs to change their on-line communication system (which one of their own staff said doesn't work). They also need to fix their billing system. There is no reason they can't tell you what you and your health insurance will be charged. I think that's what they call "transparency." I realize during the surgery, costs may change if something unexpected occurs but- come on.... You know what you charge and can give an estimate of all surgeries and appointments that are not an emergency. And I bet if you wanted, you could even figure out how to send one bill, instead of several. Or maybe you like stressing people out, so they have to come back for more health care.

I accompanied my mother to the Southpoint surgery center for cataract surgery. Our initial impression was more of a pleasant surprise. She and I both envisioned mass chaos, but everything was very well organized. The physical location of the surgery centers extremely convenient & easily accessible from I-95 and J. Turner Butler Boulevard . Check-in was a breeze for anyone who understands modern technology. If an elderly person were to be there alone, they may have issues with the check-in process because it is all computerized. There were many different people there for many different surgeries but the wait time was minimal for my mother's Doctor and her cataract surgery. I'm uncertain how they choose, which surgeries happen in which rooms but I would think that similar surgeries all happened in the same rooms in order to keep the flow of patients moving quickly. The staff was all very cordial and greeted each patient with a smile on their face. The ones I witnessed were all soft spoken and genuinely concerned for the health and welfare of the patients they were with. The lobby, waiting room and what I could see of the receptionist's area was very clean and organized, but I was unable to view any of the operating rooms as I waited in the waiting area for my mother's procedure to be finished. From what it seems, surgery centers, streamline the surgery process, and look to be the wave of the future. This particular Center turned out to be a blessing for my mother, as she is quite anxious with anything medically related. She was pleased with the swift service and very thorough nature of the staff at Southpoint surgery center!

They are the best place to have surgeries(in/out patient). Cons: I thought they would file for my insurance. No, they want money up front. I am having both eyes done. Cataract/Glaucoma surgery. I will be out-under anesthesia. Say a prayer for me in late August, for the surgery.
