Our realtor recommended Skillman, so we gave them a call, got an answering service, and then a callback a few hours later. Scheduled an appointment for the next day. I got a text when they were on their way and they showed up around 30 minutes later. After looking at the door, part of the problem was that there was some trim in the garage that should have been moved out a little bit, and it was interfering with the door. It was bad enough that you could see the wear on the paint and wood. They removed the trim, put it a little bit farther out, and then re-nailed it so that it was in the right place. We also got the tracks and springs oiled, new weatherstripping, the chain tension adjusted, the limits adjusted, and the safety sensor located to the right place. It was fantastic work and now the door movement is quiet and smooth. Will definitely call them again if and when it wears out or needs more service.

Said we need a new panel (whew - we were worried we might need a whole new door) and that they'd relay the results back to the office so they could advise us on pricing and timing. -Monday afternoon, barely 30 minutes later: Someone called from the office with the price and said they could do the job the next day since the panel was in stock. -Tuesday mid-morning: Guys were at our replacing the panel. Found that the panel had some dings when they took it out of the box; said they'd install it for the time being but replace with a new one. Said we wouldn't pay until the new panel was in. -Tuesday early afternoon: Came back with the replacement panel and finished the job. -Tuesday afternoon: Husband called and spoke with Scott at the office (I think there are two Scotts) to pay with credit card. End of transaction. Barely 24 hours after it happened, it was like nothing happened.
