I recently purchased a home. Shortly after I discovered I had an obnoxiously loud garage door. Not wanting my new neighbors to instantly hate me I attempted to only use my garage door as absolutely necessary. I didn't know anyone who fixed garage doors so I reached out to yelp. I eventually found a company with good reviews. Only problem was the other company wasnt answering their phone nor did there seem to be an answering system in place. Sooo, I was forced to expand my search. That's when I found 'Door to Door'. They were great from answering my initial call, sending someone out in just a few hours to fixing my garage door on the spot. I couldn't be happier (well... Door to Door installed our garage door many years ago, and when we had a little "run in" (no pun) earlier this week they were phenomenal: -Monday morning: Accident happened; I called when they opened. -Monday afternoon: Alan and Scott were at our house to assess the issue. Said we need a new panel (whew - we were worried we might need a whole new door) and that they'd relay the results back to the office so they could advise us on pricing and timing. -Monday afternoon, barely 30 minutes later: Someone called from the office with the price and said they could do the job the next day since the panel was in stock. -Tuesday mid-morning: Guys were at our replacing the panel. Found that the panel had some dings when they took it out of the box; said they'd install it for the time being but replace with a new one. Said we wouldn't pay until the new panel was in. -Tuesday early afternoon: Came back with the replacement panel and finished the job. -Tuesday afternoon: Husband called and spoke with Scott at the office (I think there are two Scotts) to pay with credit card. End of transaction. Barely 24 hours after it happened, it was like nothing happened. We appreciate the promptness, the professional yet friendly conduct of all involved, and the fact that the guys who came were masked by default. I highly recommend Door to Door in Fairfield, N.J. Our keypad for our garage door would not work with any code and I couldn't reprogram it. In addition, one of the garage doors would not go down with the remote. Allen and his assistant arrived on time and fixed everything quickly and professionally. They were honest, reasonably priced, courteous, and knew what the problem was right away. They greased the cables and helped with the light bulb which was not working on the door. They were very honest to tell me that the rubber stripping on the doors did not need to be replaced. I will call Door to Door the next time I have a problem. Had a very good experience with Door to Door. After calling another garage door repair company and was told they charge to even come out and give an estimate I decided to look elsewhere. My neighbor recommended Door to Door. I was happy that they come out and do a free estimate and I was even happier that the repair technician was able to immediately diagnose the issue (broken motor) and fix the problem in 20 minutes! Door to Door did a fantastic job replacing my garage door openers. I wanted to replace my aging garage door openers because the system made a lot of noise when I opened/closed the garage. I emailed them for a quote, and within hours got an exact price from Steve, the owner. I was surprised, because a lot of home improvement companies refuse to give an estimate without first coming to meet in person, so they can try selling you instantly. But Steve quickly gave me the price, and even let me know what exact brand and model he would install, so I could research the equipment myself. I scheduled an appointment so he could see my system before agreeing to anything, and he agreed to come on a Saturday morning, which fit my schedule very well. He quickly looked things over, and was honest with his assessment. He told me that replacing my equipment would lead to SOME reduction in noise, but that I already have a pretty good system overall, and so I shouldn't expect any miracles. I appreciated his honesty, considering it could have cost him the sale, whereas another company might try to scare you by telling you how old or unsafe your system is. I also asked if I should replace my track or garage door for added noise reduction. Here, he helpfully said that I've already got a good door, again going with honesty over trying to make the sale at any cost. Based on our interactions up to that point, I felt like he was being honest with me, so after he worked on the price with me a bit, I signed the contact without getting any additional quotes. We scheduled for 5 days later to do the job. He called one day prior to confirm his appointment, and his guy showed up within the agreed window. His worker installed the equipment neatly (hid the wires, disposed of the old equipment) set everything up for us, explained its operation, and left the relevant manuals/warranty info. Steve even followed up by giving us the info to claim a manufacturer's rebate that saved us another $40. I'm really happy with the system they installed, especially with how quiet it is compared to our old equipment. Overall, they did great. - Good price. - Got me the equipment I wanted. - Gave me honest answers that could have cost him the sale. - Showed up on time and did all of the promised work. - Knowledgeable about the equipment they were selling. My garage door cable snapped and I thought the repair would be costly. Having used Precision Door previously for my husband's side of the garage I was prepared for a hefty bill. I wasn't pleased that Precision, although they did a good job, then overcharged for extra springs and wheels I thought unnecessary and felt like I was being gouged. So for this repair I called Door to Door. Not only did Steve come promptly, he fixed the pulley, changed wheels, lubricated the mechanism and had the door working in 15 minutes. He was extremely reasonable and pleasant. I felt like he cared about his work and was honest -- what a pleasant surprise these days! read more

I was hopeful with the good reviews, but was sadly disappointed. I called the number listed on website, a generic voice mail answers, not stating who I called. I left a message. I called repeatedly for the rest of the day thinking they may have issue with their phones. Same voice mail. Never received call back so called Precision Doors, spoke to live person and have repair scheduled within 24 hours. Now that's service. read more

Fast, courteous and professional. Replaced my garage door springs for the price quoted, even though the springs weren't in the truck stock and had to be special ordered, which required a return visit the next day. Unlike what I read in other company's reviews here, there was no attempt to up-sell, they just efficiently and expertly made the necessary repair. Gave good maintenance suggestions as well. Awful just Awful, they are more expensive then the rest of the companies that I've researched and very rude. Steve the owner of the company likes to rip his customers off by lying to them about the price by telling them one thing then doing another. He also ruined my floor when he put the door in and told me that it wasn't his problem. The door the broke and, of corse it wasn't under warranty even though he just installed the door a few days ago. I had to call another company to fix his mistake.
