He helped a lot with my confidence behind the wheel and getting more of the feel of turning, stopping, and parking. However, I had some issues with scheduling. I scheduled a lesson over email, and was told to send a confirmation 2 days before over text. I texted the confirmation to the wrong number- my fault for not reading the email more carefully and not making sure I got a confirmation back-, so when I arrived my lesson was not ready and I had to wait an hour later than the original time. I recommend in the future they remind the student to solicit a confirmation 2 days before the time, and to be more clear which number to text the confirmation to. Also, I noticed that the teacher would occasionally text during the lesson, and halfway through we picked up another student and learned parking together. I suspect this is because with the 1 hour delay in my lesson time, our lesson times had overlapped, and the teacher needed to coordinate with the other student during my lesson. However, I don't think this arrangement was best for myself or the other student, and I was concerned about the teacher's attention being split while on the road. I appreciate that Polyservice tried to accomodate me even without receiving my confirmation, but in the future I would've rather had the lesson rescheduled so it wouldn't overlap with anyone else's.

I started taking segment I classes about a few weeks ago. Immediately, when I walked in, I felt…read morewelcome, and Ms. Samantha and Mr. Moy were so chill. They host Kahoots, Jeopardy, and other fun games to make the sessions less monotonous and tedious. Ms. Samantha is very kind and helpful, and although people think Mr. Moy is rude, he actually does what he can to ensure that students are successful. It's when students are misbehaving and ignoring instructions that they're reprimanded. Overall, I enjoyed this experience and would love to come back for segment II.

I can't say enough good things about our experience with the staff at Excel. I had suspected for…read morequite some time that my daughter had something going on that wasn't quite right. She often reversed numbers and letters, transposed words or parts of words, and skipped words or phrases all together. As she got older, it became more and more evident because her school work was getting more difficult. Reading and writing were so difficult. It would take her such a long time and so much effort, that it often resulted in tears. As a homeschooler, I work so closely with her day in and day out, I could really see the struggle. I started researching reading disorders such as dyslexia, etc. I wasn't thrilled with what I had found. I talked to many reading/dyslexia specialists, and all they could offer me was a VERY expensive "bandaid" that would never actually fix the problem. A friend of mine told me about vision therapy, and how all 5 of her kids had gone to Excel. When Dr. Gietzen evaluated my daughter, he confirmed that she had some very severe deficits but was so optimistic and confident that they could be corrected. Some of her evaluations were so low that they couldn't even be tested. She has completed her course of VT with Stephanie and corrected EVERY single problem area. Stephanie was absolutely wonderful! My daughter was sad to end therapy because she wouldn't be seeing Stephanie every week. Now my daughter is at least in the range of normal or above for ALL of the areas she struggled with. It is amazing to me how much she has improved with her schoolwork and also athletics. It made sense why she was so clumsy and uncoordinated before. Every area of her life was being negatively affected by this, and now every area of her life has improved. I am so thankful that we found this solution for her. She just had her 3 month follow-up appointment, and her vision is completely stable - no regression. It's amazing what they've been able to do for her. Thank you so much to the staff at Excel.
