As new homeowners, my husband and I really didn't know what to look for when actually LOOKING at insulation before buying our house - and boy, did we pay for it this (our 1st) winter. Regular insulation was used under our home and what we now see is a lot of it looks old, some newly added by the previous homeowner, and some downright decrepit. With the freezing blowing wind (or who are you kidding, even wind at 50 degrees) coming from under our home, our 1st floor was freezing.
