Dreamwave is just excellent. It's so clear that this coffee shop is built on passion. Dreamwave isn't just some standard shop dishing out subpar caffeine. Dreamwave cares! So many intentional choices--from the art to the retro details to the made-in-house menu--that this place is an immediate win for the area. I'm so happy to have Dreamwave in my neighborhood. My kids love tagging along (see free rings + pokemon battle tips) and I love the coffee. Pleasantly surprised by The Dream. I wouldn't typically order something macadamia because my mind would think "sweet," but I was assured it wasn't. It was fantastic & loved the lil crumbly addition. Looking forward to supporting this biz again and again. Thank you, Audrey, for highlighting a fun spot in north Carlsbad!

I love good coffee and this fits the bill! I met another elite friend here and the owner was at the counter. He offered us taste of a Matcha drink either strawberry or coconut vanilla on ice. I chose the coconut vanilla and it was really good. He explained that they have been open just six weeks, which would explain why I had hadn't heard of them yet. They roast their beans locally in Mission Valley. They also make a lot of their syrups and other things in house. I love that. I ordered the high tide latte made with their homemade vanilla bean syrup, coconut and oat milk. It was not sweet at all with a hint of coconut and vanilla. We sat outside on the great little patio. It was quite caffeinated and I was buzzing for a few hours. The cafe itself is super cute, with some old-school video games, some cute art, and even a ring you choose the color and you choose the meaning, one was protection, one was strength and one was telepathy and a few others. It's fun!! I will totally come back when I'm around this area. Thank you, Audrey, Dream Wave Coffee, and Yelp for this afternoon pick me up.

First time coming to this unique cafe. Indoor decor super cute and very inviting. I was greeted by their owner Mike and he is super nice and gave me a bit of history about this cafe. They have been opened for 6 weeks now! They make their flavors in house and their matcha is top grade. He recommended me "the High Tide" as my first drink here and he was able to sub milk with oat milk. Let me just say this drink is spot on! Love the flavor combinations of coconut, vanilla, and oat milk and it tasted super rich. I was very much surprised by this intense and delicious flavor! I also got a molasses cookie to api with my drink and it was warmed up so nice and gooey with a herd crispy shell. Quite tasty. Plus he gave me a few samples of their ice cold matcha and strawberry matcha drinks as well. Let's just say all items that I tried today was superb. Rest of Mike's staff was super friendly. I like how there's also merchandise (hats, mugs, tumblers, hoodies, and shirt) for sale. There's even free rings at the cashier as well. They also have breakfast sandwhiches that I plan I trying next time I'm visiting this cafe. At the end of my drink there's still a heart!!! Thanks Audrey for this YEE! I found a new hidden gem and will definitely come back here again soon.

Came here after morning exercise and I was so looking forward for this treat. Thank you Dreamwave, Yelp elite and Audrey for this wonderful experience. I ordered the Silly Old Bear and almond croissant. They both were delicious.

    Nice patio outside.

This owner of this new coffee place was so friendly and welcoming! I love to see a business owner so enthusiastic about their business and happy to share it. He shared that they roast their own coffee beans. I was offered a choice of three coffee drinks. I selected the silly old bear which had a nice cinnamon flavor. I was also given a sample of the strawberry matcha which was very good. The coffee presented was beautiful with the leaf design on top. So nice to find a new coffee place. I will recommend them to friends. Thank you to Yelp and to Dreamwave for the opportunity and the experience.

Thank you Dreamwave, Yelp Elite and Audrey, for this coffee experience. The opportunity to try locally roasted coffee beans and house made syrups. The Dream with Macadamia Nut Sauce was good and not too sweet. You can request the amount of syrup to your liking. Interior is fun and superhero feel to empower people to dream big!

What a neat place! As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a smile and welcome from Mike and the awesome staff. We were in our way up to LA so we were in need of caffeine for sure. Dreamwave has different options from other coffee houses and what is extra cool is that they make their own syrups in house! The coconut was tasty (I need to go back to try the mac nut as well). Drip coffee was good, my daughter's black tea was also light and refreshing (Saturday's flavor was peach) and my son really liked the morning bun. I got the High Tide iced and the combination of coconut and vanilla was a perfect match. Loved all the hand done drawings in store and the artwork around as well. It was fairly busy when we went which is good and the staff was working to get everyone their stuff pretty quickly. Great location, close to the freeway and amazing coffee and people! Thank you Dreamwave and Audrey for a sweet Elite Experience!!!

The Yelp elite offer was for one (1) of the following: * The Dream. The macadamia nut syrup really hit home for me. They do it right!! * Silly Old Bear. * High Tide (the sweetest option of the 3) I also got to try samples of the matcha strawberry and vanilla coconut matcha (over ice) and both won me over. I make matcha at home on a daily so it was GREAT to try these. A few things to know: * their syrups are all made in house. * they have ceremonial grade matcha. Mike, the owner - is really passionate about this place. I love the vibes and personal touches he's done, especially the retro Super Nintendo games. Very nostalgic! Thank you Mike and Yelp for letting me try this new place! We'll definitely be back!

Loved this modern-quirky cute coffee shop that hosted this elite event. Walking in, it already had a great vibe. It has a vaporwave aesthetic. When we checked in, Mike (the owner) let us know that they roast the beans themselves and make their own syrups. He also shared the popular drinks. We were given samples while we waited then enjoyed their absolutely delicious coffee. Overall, this was a great experience!

I met the owner Mike. He is awesome!!! Super informative!! Loved how everything is made in house...so cool! I got the dream. It's really good. Not overly sweet, not super strong, great flavor! Love the ambiance! While you wait you can play old school video games like street fighter! That was fun The outside patio is super cute! Love all the plants out there. Will most definitely be back to try the wake and bacon!!! The only thing that was annoying was my directions was trying to take me to the drug store next door. Now that I know it's next to the gym I go to, it'll be easier for me to find

What used to be a Coffee Bean (RIP) is now a locally owned independent shop with a pretty cool owner who said they roast all their coffee in the mission valley area and make all their flavorings and tings in house. Stopped here on the way to work and picked up a 3 pack of caffeine. I opted for a matcha latte w/ oat milk and rosemary which added a nice scent and subtle flavor. Wife and niece each got the dream and chai (with orange flavoring) and liked it. Vibes inside are rad! They've got a baby TV playing old school movies and a Japanese Super Nintendo where I got my butt kicked by the computer in street fighter 2. Support local!

Thanks Dreamwave coffee and our CM Audrey for this Yelp elite event. Cute little coffee shop located in a shopping complex. Service was friendly. As a Yelp elite you get to choose from the Dream which is a macadamia nut latte or silly old bear a honey cinnamon latte or high tide a coconut vanilla latte. I was in between the dream and silly old bear but ultimately went with the dream which is their signature latte. It has a strong flavor and you can taste the macadamia. I kind of wish I would've went with the silly old bear as it probably would've been sweeter. Don't get me wrong the dream latte was still good. I ordered a morning bun for my husband who said it tasted like a cinnamon bun without all the frosting in a good way. He's not a fan of frosting. I tried the dream cream cheese bagel. The cream cheese is a honey walnut cream cheese with orange zest. Definitely different. Overall, cute coffee shop that gave eclectic beach vibes.

The store is so well decorated and a DREAM! There are many retro games to see and merch to buy their music is at a good volume and not too loud. Also, the servers are the kindest of all coffee shops I ever been, and their drinks are I got their high tide specialty drink and it was creamy and super delicious Definitely recommend for work space or just to spend time w friends!

The business was located in a suite next door to a gelato shop, both of which were in this random industrial park. I wonder with its remote location, how much customer traffic it can generate from beyond the neighbors in this complex? Anyway, a bonus was that parking was super easy. Upon entering and checking in with the cashier to mark my name off the magic list, she informed me that each of us had a $15 credit to select anything off the menu. I really loved the flexibility of this offer as it opened up the possibilities. Normally, an Elite promotion is for one or two specified items. The offerings were obviously heavy on chicken, however I noticed some non-chicken grub like crispy shrimp, Filipino spaghetti, a veggie egg roll, and even Belgian waffles. My picks were the two middle entries out of the six in the Specialties section... Chicken & Waffles and Chicken Curry. They conveniently added up to $14.95. The first container had four mini waffles combined with around a dozen pieces of chicken nuggets. A self-service condiments station was available that provided ketchup and four different sauces with clearly marked signage of each name and flavor profile. I used the Golden Chicken Dip for the nuggets to add a sweet and smoky enhancement to the bits of white meat. The second bowl had white rice as a base with chicken, broccoli, and carrots in a curry sauce that was mild in heat and spices. Two slices of yellow pickled daikon (takuan) were included on the side. The mix made for a nice savory snack. Thank you to the owners and staff at Surf Up Chicken for introducing a group of Elites to your eatery. The combination of Asian fusion and Southern-style flavors was unique. Thanks also to Audrey and Yelp North County San Diego for identifying a new local, family-run business to host an Elite Week Event.

On this occasion, I met with a North County friend who lives nearby and was also confirmed for this Elite Experience. I was allowed to bring her spouse as my plus one as a perk of the new Yelp Elite All-Stars program. Blue Bowl was on a busy corner in South Oceanside not far from the Freeman Collective. We each found a nearby curbside spot as there was no on-site parking lot. The shop had a steady stream of customers during our weekend morning visit. After a worker marked our names off the magic list, we were allowed to sample as many of the seven different bases which each had coconut yogurt and coconut water as a foundation. Two of the varieties, Mango Passion and Matcha, were quite unique. Layered smoothies and bowls were the theme. We each created a custom 16 oz bowl with as many toppings and add-ins as desired. Huckleberry was my base which consisted of muddled banana, mango passion, fresh strawberries, coconut yogurt and coconut water. I also selected maple quinoa granola, acai yogurt, blue bowl chia pudding, pineapples, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, The Butter, organic dates, dried mangos, dried peaches, almonds, and organic agave nectar as components for my custom bowl. I was very impressed with how the worker carefully assembled the complimentary bowl which could have been called "everything but the kitchen sink." The coconut flavor in the base was subtle while the fruits were very fresh. It was a high-quality product that had a reasonable market price. Thank you to the owners of Blue Bowl in Oceanside for allowing us to sample one of your custom creations. It was a healthy snack between breakfast and lunch. I'm appreciative of Yelp granting me this invite to Dash Coffee Bar, & stopped by late afternoon on Mother's Day as a treat; Elites receive a coffee of choice + Cookie Chaos cookie. I'm not one to celebrate this holiday... all I ask of my family, kids especially, is peace & quiet. Easy peasy, & totally affordable, yet it doesn't happen even though it's only 2 days out of the year (other is my birthday). Anyways, I digress. My son joined me in this quest to Dash Coffee Bar, & he was curious about the menu's refresher bar, particularly the yuzu refresher frizz & butterfly pea lemonade, that he made a mad dash out of the car when I barely parked. We were warmly greeted upon entering, & peruse the menu for my comped drink. I inquired that I'm not a coffee drinker & asked if I may choose from refresher bar list, which she said ok, & requested the Ube White Chocolate & Yuzu Refresher Frizz. Normally, I would prefer tea with a cookie, though I imagine coffee goes better? Our cashier/barista was quick, & got the fizzy drink fast! I had to put a hand on my son to snap a pic & gently remind him that it's mine & that it's Mother's Day. Yeesh! ;-) I love, love, love this yuzu refresher... absolutely "refreshing" bubbly with citrusy sweet & sour notes!!! And the cookie was delish... good ube flavor & sweet chocolate... a match made in heaven! We polished both off in a minute! The coffee bar is a skip from Old Town, & on a quieter street: Union St. just off busy Lake Ave. The dining area is bright & spacious, & designed to allow you to "hang out" &/or work, though I'm not sure how comfy the bench & chairs are for extended periods of time. Compact menu of: expressos & coffees with add-ons, crafted bar, teas & refreshers that's fairly priced (though it seems cheaper than tea/coffee shops) with excellent, friendly service. It's a bit of a drive to Pasadena, but I'm always open to exploring the neighborhood near my brother, & sharing my finds with him (told him about DCB; he's a coffee aficionado & approves). DCB is quickie walk from his office & a short drive from home. Not convenient for me, but definitely worth a stop whenever I'm in the area visiting my big bro. Recommended: Yuzu Refresher Frizz (a must) & Ube White Chocolate Cookie. A special thanks to Yelp, CM Margaret, & the Dash Coffee Bar team for this refreshing fizz & uberlicious cookie to celebrate APIHM!

OG yelp granny! Something special about UYEs are due to a more small, intimate setting. You can finally put that face in real life to that yelper you may be following for years or have been virtual friends with. Like-minded yelpers with similar passions get to connect and really get to know each other at these gatherings. Whether it's becoming lifelong friends or making memories with those near or far, it's always a positive and uplifting community and experience. A lot of work and coordination comes with organizing these events and each one I've been to have been so fun and worthwhile. From costume-themed events to breaking a sweat at a local gym/studio it never disappoints and I always have a blast! So many UYE highlights throughout the years and I'm thankful to those who I have come across and I look forward to meeting more yelpers aka friends in the future! Pardon my cheesy review, but had to represent!

An Elite Week Event that can drive new life: body, mind and spirit!…read more I was passionate about attending this health driven event at Vitality Tap! My fire was fueled by the choices we had available: an elixer shooter, a juice or smoothie, a superbowl or toast, and a coffee beverage on nitro! All courtesy of Vitality Tap and the NCSD Elite Team. Trying the following items added some pep to my step... The All Day Energy Shooter added vigor to start the day! MSM, ginseng, cordyceps mushroom, green coffee, bean, organic juice and coconut water. The So Citrus Juice drove my cold away! Antioxidant rich, immunity kick and weight loss. Grapefruit, orange, pineapple and Fuji apple. The Tropical Superbowl added a punch to the afternoon! Pitaya, strawberry, pineapple, banana and coconut water. and The Mexican Nitro Coffee provided vivacity to get through the night! I couldn't even choose a favorite - as they were all so delicious in their own way! Thank you to VT and Andy at Yelp for your wonderful elan! The husband and I look forward to returning on our visits nearby and hope to sparkle again! #Yelp #thanks #WOW

But just because something is a "thing" doesn't mean it should be a thing. Sushi donuts, mint-filled Oreos, and BK's Cheeto Chicken Fries : things that arguably shouldn't have gotten to "thing" status {pretty sure the filling in mint Oreos is toothpaste... and... Burger King needs a new slogan - how about: "We now clean our restrooms!"}. Also: "Odor control undies" and "toddler perfume"... while somewhat practical... not necessarily things that should be a thing. Goat beauty pageants and "cats that look like Hitler" videos : definitely SHOULD NOT BE A THING (jeez - stop the Internet, I wanna get off!). I came here on a Sunday early afternoon and the place was very peaceful and it wasn't too busy. The staff members were nice and helped me pick out a drink. I typically go for a classic matcha latte but they had so many fruity options that I couldn't help but want to try something new. Strawberry matcha has been around so I was looking for something more tropical. I was super torn between the Mango and Peach, but was lucky enough that the staff I spoke to offered to mix both. So technically I ordered something off the menu - Mango Peach Matcha Latte with Oat Milk. It was delicious! The drink was very balanced, just make sure you mix your drink well so you get all those flavors in every sip. The vibe in the cafe was very zen. They went for a minimalistic and natural aesthetic which I appreciate given it's a matcha place. The music choice was nice too. All in all, I had a great experience and would definitely go back! Quick note: The parking lot in the back of the plaza is free for Sunday and it's a big lot. There is also street parking available if you are looking to pick up a drink.
