I requested an appointment with a person that has been a "stylist" for years. I requested someone that has experience with thick hair. My appointment was for 5pm. She was running behind, which was fine, no biggie. Sat in the chair at 5:20. A quick "consult" and off to the bowl to be shampoo'ed. Back in the chair. "trust the process" is my mentality when it comes to haircuts. I trust that the stylist knows what they are doing. She was taking large sections of my hair and pulling it straight up. No worries, I figured its was a trick she had learned. I was out the door by 6 because she has someone else waiting.... So I was rushed in and out and charged $85.00. After 2 weeks of living with this choppy, uneven haircut, I am going somewhere else to try and fix it. read more

Worst haircut--and overall experience--I've had in a very long time in a salon. I am left wondering if this person switched careers and is brand new at it. Because she is TERRIBLE. The "layers" are all choppy and drastically uneven. I cannot even put my hair in a ponytail because she cut super short "underlayers"... She only put conditioner "on the ends" for some reason (I have wavy, coarse hair that needs conditioner!), but I thought she'd then add product/serum. Nope. So then she PULLED and damaged my hair with a comb for the next 20 minutes while I suffered. I asked if they had product and she said no. I mean, what? Then she questioned my preference to "keep the length" and ignored my preference. So then while she has the scissors and I'm reiterating that I only want a minimal TRIM (because I knew this was not going well), she tells me how her "boyfriend worked for Trump" and "well the Republicans will have to get back in [the White House]" (to work in DC). &(@^$ It's so bad. I have chunks of hair just hanging there. I'll have to wait weeks for it to grow out before finding a professional to fix it. read more

Everyone in this salon is top notch! I am almost afraid to write a great review since it is such a gem!! They use amazing Wella color, in my opinion, the best nourishing color on the market.. My hair has never been healthier and their product recommendations for daily hair care are spot on. Debra Meyer is my stylist and I love this woman and have made a lasting friend. Every stylist is super talented and everyone looks amazing when they walk out of this salon. Of course, I have to mention Becca, the Salon Concierge. She is on her game with setting your future appointments. She was great helping me stay ahead of my appointments with holidays and special events like my daughter's upcoming wedding in June. Stephanie also took the time to teach me how to style my hair using a curling iron so I could recreate the hairstyle she gave me in the salon at home. She first demonstrated the curls, then gave me a turn, watched and provided feedback. She corrected my technique by telling me to start my curls low and slightly out to the side, instead of of straight out from my head and in horizontally like I was doing. read more

Trust your gut if you have doubts on a stylists ability. I looked up the stylist I was assigned to get my balayage done and saw she only had a year experience out of beauty school, but thought that with the reviews here I'll give her a chance. Instead of actually doing balayage like I asked she did teasy lights on my extremely straight hair, leaving my hair in a state with stripes throughout and harsh lines of demarcation from where the bleach was applied. She also did horizontal back sections on the top of my head instead of doing the true balayage technique and now my hair is stripey and looks like I am a zebra. I am giving 2 stars instead of zero because they are refunding the balayage portion of my hair appointment but from a technical perspective I would give a zero. I even asked for it to be fixed when at the salon when I saw how stripey it was and even that attempt of fixing it barely helped. Stylists that do not have experience doing true balayage technique should not be booked for balayage appointments. Foil highlights are not a replacement of balayage when specifically asking for a blended balayage showing pictures of true balayage hair as inspiration. The stylist was very nice and my hair cut was good but she was just set up for failure getting booked with this appointment. I would have much rather been turned down from an appointment from this salon because of a lack of availability of artists with the appropriate experience to do what I requested for my hair instead of having this done. Now I have to go get a color correction at a different salon and will need to keep going back to the salon for gloss touch ups from the heavily bleached areas that should have never been bleached. When Bubbles closed and Alexis left, I vowed to follow her whenever she went. Elite was where she landed, so to Elite I went. The atmosphere is very mainline; everything is set up beautifully and there is no clutter to be seen. They have coffee and tea and even some little munchies in the reception area as well as an abundance of magazines to peruse as you wait your turn. Even the stylist stations are not the average; they have a tiny shelf in front and bookcase type shelving on the sides to hide all the tools. I'm happy that Alexis found such a good salon to stay at! However, when all is said and done, it's all about if you get what you came in for. Unfortunately for me, this visit I was disappointed. The color line that Elite had was different than Bubbles' and the Redken line didn't give me the gorgeous citrusy hue I was looking for. However, Kathy (receptionist) and the other girls worked with me to find what I wanted (to the point of allowing me on their computer so I could show them the color I had only a few weeks ago via facebook) and then they offered suggestions on how to get that color. The only problem was that they did not have that color in stock and would have to order it; normally they place their order on friday and get it on tuesday but Kathy said she would ask and see if they could place the order earlier to get it by saturday. Fingers crossed that they can get it! Either way, they've definitely made me feel like a valued client on my first day! read more

My hairstylist is polite and friendly, but most importantly, she really creates hairstyles perfectly. I never saw someone leave Elite looking anything, but great.
