I was a loyal client--since 2019--until last week. Erin, my OG stylist, was AMAZING. She was kind, friendly, humble, and SKILLED. She brought my brown-black hair to an amazing level of blond and I will forever be grateful. When Erin left the salon I stuck around, going first to Alexis who highlighted my hair once, and then, most recently, to Rachel. My color request was simple: tone out the orange and add contrast to my money pieces. My hair was already damaged from a botched DIY bleach bath from last April, so knowing my hair history, I was surprised when Rachel began foiling highlights into my already brassy, frizzled hair, leaving some strands untouched. In the months prior she'd toned my poorly bleached mess to dark brown--it faded brassy, and highlighted it--brassy again, all the while insisting on warm browns. Warm had SOUNDED great--like caramel--but the reality was more like old rust--every time. This time I was adamant. Get rid of the orange once and for all. Cool tones. Ash. Let's do this already. The photo I brought along was an ombre with money pieces--brunette and blond. I've attached it below. I really wish we'd discussed my priorities and the reality of my hair situation beforehand but we never got into depth. Maybe because, on top of everything else, Rachel seemed to be having a psychological crisis. She went on and on about on a few personal issues and I started feeling more like a therapist or family member than a paying client. I also grew concerned about her foiling, but she was the pro. I'd communicated my goals clearly. Surely she knew what she was doing. In the end this was the least relaxing salon visit I'd ever had. I sat there for almost five hours, spent $300 and knew enough about Rachel's personal life to write a novella. And the piece de la resistance? My hair came out MORE orange AFTER my appointment. The following day I reached out to Alexis, who acts as a quasi-manager when Laura isn't around, which, according to salon gossip, is more and more these days. On this day, Laura was at a two-week luxury retreat and unreachable. I imagined her phone sitting in a hemp basket somewhere that reeked of incense while she lay in corpse pose communing with her inner wisdom. Lo, instead of acknowledging Rachel's epic fail, Alexis first apologized in that classic non-apology way. She said, "I'm sorry your hair feels orange." No Alexis, my hair IS orange. But I FEEL infuriated. Then she blamed a) my hair for not lifting, b) my goal photo for being too blond at the ends, which was not my priority AT ALL, but who would know? And c) fate itself--because sometimes things just don't go as planned OMG. It couldn't--heaven forfend--be the fault of the girl who actually colored my hair. Now I felt even worse. It wasn't enough that I looked like 1997 Ginger Spice. I was also being gaslit by fake management. So I reached out to Laura. She owns the joint after all. She would surely make things right. In my email to her I stayed on message. I was unhappy with my results, received the polar opposite of what I asked for, and wanted a refund and/or a correction done by her. There was no way I'd return to Rachel now. I waited a week for Laura to return to civilization from shangri-la. Finally she emailed back. Laura apologized that I was unhappy (another non-apology) but would have to charge me in full for her service and offered no refund. Nada. Zilch. So I wrote this. I was lucky enough to get Erin for my blow dry. I am new to the area and wasn't sure what I would get, but was so pleasantly surprised by the nice people and also Erin's blow dry. Not to mention the lady who washed my hair massaged my head amazingly!I bought the pack of four and will definitely be going back. A great little spot and reading the other reviews I will use Erin for other services like cuts and colors as well. If you are on the fence, definitely go and get Erin. Fast forward a few months.... I just went back for a cut and color. I am really happy. Erin spent a lot of time making sure it was exactly the way it should be. I got a lot of hair cut off and I absolutely love it. If you are going in for highlights and a cut make sure you give yourself enough time because I was there from 10-1! Definitely no rushing going on here, but it was due to quality and also the fact that I have so much hair. After trying out two other hair salons in Ardmore, I've found my new fav! I enjoyed the warm vibe when I walked in, and the coziness. My appointment was with Erin, and I can't say enough good things about her. She's an excellent hairstylist, and took the time to listen and make suggestions for my cut and style. I am so happy with how my haircut turned out, and I will definitely be coming back here! The icing on the cake for me was the complimentary glass of wine I was offered while I waited. My whole experience was relaxing, and fun. The pricing for a cut and style was also very competitive for the other salons I tried. The products they use smell so good too. read more

I am very discriminate when it comes to salons, but La'lli Hair Salon is comfortable, friendly, affordable and did I say friendly? Melissa (co-owner) came to my rescue when my attempt to cover my grey turned red!!! She not only matched my original color but her ability to know exactly how to handle my fine ethnic hair was spot on. This salon reeks of upscale expertise with a sheek, yet comfortable atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, ecclectic and the range of clientele they can service is unique! I am a bit bias about Michele Parise as she is my hair expert! I will let noone else touch my hair as she knows the right concoction, style and cut. I have never left there without feeling like a million bucks!! I have gotten more compliments on the color and style of my hair, and I immediately tell them "who" does it and where she works. A salon is only as good as the staff they hire and they surely hired a passionate pro in Michele! I deem it important to note that Michele is important enough to my physical appearance (thus self esteem!) that I have followed her throughout her career...from Manayunk to Jenkintown to now Ardmore and I live outside of Doylestown, PA -- I go the distance cause Michele goes the distance for sure!! read more

People in this place are generally friendly, but do not make the mistake of going to Katie. She went through my hair like a bulldozer-- slapped colour on it in less than 5 minutes and cut it in even less time. I think she was in a rush to get out of there (it was late in the day), but then she shouldn't have agreed to take me on. High-end yet competitively priced hair services, amazingly talented stylists, organic products and a focus on giving clients chic style while always making their hair healthier in the process -- who doesn't need that?? I got hooked on La'lli because of Tessa's incredible blow-dries -- she is patient and meticulous, consistently bringing volume and soft-curls to my coarse, frizzy, long hair in a way that makes me want to go out on a date night (even if I don't have a date...) But eventually I started going to Tessa for color (base, highlights and lowlights). I absolutely trust Tessa with my hair, she truly listens to what I need and then checks in to make sure that over time she is helping me achieve the exact look (and hair health) I want. Plus if you get your hair blown out often, La'lli has a blow-dry club that makes this would-be luxury fit into even tight budgets! (Shh.. please don't tell too many people about this, I don't want it to go away and as of now La'lli is one of only two salons on the Main Line that offers this!) All the stylists are very skilled at blow-drying (among their other skills) -- which, if you truly value a really good blow-dry, is rare to find in salons. So you literally don't have to worry about who you schedule your appointment with here. Loved my experience at La'lli! My good friend gave me a color, cut and blowdry as a Christmas gift. When I walked in, I felt welcome and was greeted immediately. They are so nice at this salon, not at all snooty and they know what they are doing, which is the main thing! I was avoiding hair salons because I was embarrassed that my hair was too messed up with home coloring that it would be super expensive to fix. The young lady who greeted me at the front desk not only asked my name but introduced herself and offered me a beverage while I waited! Michele, my hair artist, is not only super nice and down to earth but assured me that my hair would turn out shiny and fabulous..and it did!! I also have to point out that Michele is very skilled at what she does, my cut, color and blowdry took about 2 hours which is amazing to me. i adore this place. laura has cut my hair three times - twice i gave very specific instructions about the style and showed her pictures on my cell phone, while the other time i just told her to do whatever would look good (as i think i'm at a point where i shouldn't be trusted with decisions regarding hair/makeup/clothes and others should really just decide for me) and all three times she did an amazing job. i left feeling way more beautiful than i did going in. and i am someone who is known to cry after haircuts. the vibe here is really friendly and relaxed but still modern, clean and stylish. once i brought my infant son and he just hung out and slept to the white noise of hair dryers. the cut and blowout were $65 which is pretty standard for a nice haircut in this area. i think just a blowout is $35. i forgot to put money in my meter and the girl that washed my hair offered to go put my quarter in the meter. like i said, friendly vibe. my mom is a diehard melissa fan so i know she's great, too. read more
