I was looking down the strip where all the tattoo shops were with my friends and elite was the last one I visited. My friend who has 4 tattoo's (and was planning on getting a tattoo as well) was doing some of the talking because I have social anxiety and I would be getting my first tattoo. When I walked into Elite I liked the atmosphere, but when I talked to the staff I was immediately let down. My friend explained to the women at the front desk that this was my first tattoo and I was very nervous. The women asked to speak to me and when my friend tried to explain that I was very anxious she very rudely said "Can I speak to her? She's the one who should be talking not you." When I began explaining my tattoo (the word special in my grandmothers hand writing) she stopped me and said "You don't want anyone to f*** that up, there are only maybe three good artists on this strip but everyone here is amazing. Don't let anyone f*** that up." She went a got an artist for us to talk to about price and design and the artist immediately began bashing the other artists on the strip. He told me that my tattoo would cost upwards of 100 dollars and that if I wanted it to be perfect I should be going to Elite and no where else. The artist showed me a decent looking tattoo on his arm and proceeded to say that it "looked like s*** and was done by someone in California who was probably on cocaine." Generally the entire experience made me more anxious about getting a tattoo and I just wanted to leave. My friends and I decided to go to Ace's High tattoo because the people there made me feel calm and welcome and we looked through many portfolios of the artists there and absolutely loved their work. I can assure you neither my friends or I were asked to write a negative review for this shop. We did this because we felt the service was very rude. If the owner review a tape to watch our interaction with the staff he would have seen that I was clearly uncomfortable. I just feel like this place was not accommodating to me and the staff was trying to scare me into getting a tattoo at their shop. read more

I have numerous tats from several shops in both NC and SC. This shop is clean, professional and friendly. Allen did a piece on both me and my gf. Very pleased with the work on both of us. He was great to work with. Some people think there is a connection between price and quality. You can get a bad expensive tat and a good cheap tat. It all comes down to the artist. I can't speak for other artists at Elite, but I will have more work done there by Allen. read more

I came into this studio with my friend and was looking to get a cover up of a tattoo I had done at Dr. Ink. I talked with Adam, and he instantly drew up this beautiful design of a jellyfish and assured me it would fit beautifully. The next day I went in and Adam gave me the most beautiful cover up!!! My previous tattoo has scarring, due to being overworked, so it was raised and Adam covered it up as best as he could. The finished product was beautiful! I was extremely disappointed with Elite Ink Tattoos. I called previously to make the attendant aware that my sisters, my mom, and I wanted to come in at a particular time to receive tattoos. The attendant made me aware that we were more than welcome to come in at the time I specified. She also made me aware that they had open availability at that time. When we arrived on time, yet we had to wait for more than 20 minutes just to be spoken to regarding the type of tattoo we wanted. Although, she did come speak to us after explaining and showing images of our very small tattoos we were told they were unable to accommodate all of us today and would only be able to accommodate one of us. I was extremely baffled due to the fact that I had called earlier that day. I believe that if they were unable to accommodate us it should have been made known when I previously called. I did not enjoy the customer service nor the superior attitude that was presented. I would not recommend this service facility to anyone. read more

I went in and made a appointment the day before with Adam .I was on vacation in Myrtle Beach SC.I came in on the Time and date my card said for a the consolation.When I finally met Adam he was so rude to me ! He didn't even ask me what I wanted !He said that he was booked up and he didn't have time for me ! I have never been treated with such rudeness and unprofessionalism ! I left there feeling embarrassed and disappointed! I did quite a bit of homework before I chose Elite and boy did I chose wisely! Mike was my artist and I gave him nothing but a nebulous idea of what I wanted - we emailed back and forth, and after meeting during my appointment we had brainstormed (99% HE had brainstormed) an idea I love. He executed the tattoo EXaCTLY as I had envisioned and I adore it. I would wholeheartedly recommend Elite and Mike in particular. Make an appointment if you want a weekend! While you'll see the artists from other shops hanging out outside waiting for clients Elite was packed on the Saturday I went (an excellent sign). As far as prices are concerned I was expecting to pay 3x what I actually did - if I get another tattoo it will be with Mike at Elite! read more
