Tom and his crew installed my rear surround sound speakers today. They listened closely to how I…read morewanted things done and made every attempt to satisfy my requests. The end result is clean, wall mounted speakers that are exactly where I wanted them. Tom and his colleague seem like excellent problem solvers and all around good guys. I should add that I initially met with another contractor who said what I wanted to accomplish, couldn't be done. Tom knows his stuff and made it happy. I've been enjoying my new surround sound all evening. My wife...not so much but she agreed to it so we're all good. I highly recommend True Alarms.

We have used Tom and his crew from True Alarms for several services including an alarm package,…read moresecurity cameras, built in audio speakers, and a driveway alarm. All of these functions were programmed into applications that can be managed from our smart phones. Having recently moved here, I found True Alarms from Internet research. Tom serves our community as a fireman, and his business is local as opposed to other corporate options. I couldn't be more pleased. Tom and his partner are outstanding professionals who know their craft. They are always on time, and go the extra mile to make sure everything works as promised. Their services and prices are very reasonable. We have trusted them implicitly with our home security. It's an honor and pleasure being a client of True Alarms. We will continue to use them for whatever home security and electronic services that arise in the future.

I love going to Ikea but this time the experience was a bit overwhelming. I waited forever to…read morereturn something and it's a bit confusing and not straightforward on the virtual line versus an actual line. I was really the next in line for a long time and it took forever and then I couldn't even return the item as they change their policy with out my notice on plants. Also for checking out after purchasing stuff the line was so long and it was very confusing. They didn't have any of the self checkouts open. I finally got to the front of the line and the cashier went away on a break so I had to wait longer. I felt like there's a lot of workers but they were just not on the cashier so it was just a slow process.

Having visited IKEA locations in Ireland and Sweden, I've seen how they take the concept so…read moreseriously over there--it's an entire cultural experience. Here, we tend to treat it more like a giant showroom with free babysitting and a cafeteria, but the value is still hard to beat. I had a great run during my most recent trip. The deals were everywhere! I picked up a summer-weight duvet along with a new cover and shams to refresh the bedroom. I also found a stunning set of gold-toned serving flatware -- they have that sleek, high-end look without the boutique price tag. A few highlights and "hiccups" from this visit: The Food & Drink:I tried the fish balls with mashed potatoes for lunch, and they were actually pretty tasty. I also noticed an older gentleman sitting completely alone, casually drinking glasses of what appeared to be wine. Many IKEA locations with a restaurant license do serve beer and wine, and honestly, he had the right idea. Of course, I couldn't leave without hitting the food market for those specific cookies and foreign candies you just can't find anywhere else. The Atmosphere: At one point, navigating the floor felt a bit like an escape room. While the staff seems nice enough, they aren't exactly eager to help--you really have to run them down to get an answer. The Warehouse:I'm honestly not a fan of the self-service furniture selection policy. The whole warehouse environment is pretty intimidating when you're trying to track down boxes. The Strategy:Since I'm lucky enough to live only 25 minutes away I've realized I need to stop coming here like it's a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage. If I visited more often, I probably wouldn't feel the need to drop $200 every time! Overall, it's a solid four-star experience for the unique finds and the reliable "Swedish-lite" atmosphere, even if you have to do some of the heavy lifting yourself.
