I've been getting my nails done since I was in college and I almost exclusively only get gel nails and regular pedicures. Elite Nails & Spa is one of the better salons I've been to. Their customer service is really decent and I love Ann. She is very patient and kind; I have very sensitive cuticles and have been cut by one too many a manicurist. She took her time with my cuticles and did not cut me once. I had her pick my color as I'm very indecisive, and she picked an amazing, mauve-y nude color. Needless to say, I love it. They do a good job on pedicures too and time the leg massages so you know you're getting your money's worth. I would say you have to be vocal at any nail place. Don't expect them to give you a break down of all prices. That's simply how these salons run. Voice your questions and if they give you a hard time, don't ever go back. I find that I can voice my concerns here and they don't give me a hard time. Prices are a bit more expensive than other places. I'd say maybe $3-$4 more. I paid $30 for a regular gel manicure and $19 for a regular (no gel) pedicure. They also have a stamp card, which is unique. I'm not sure what the 'prize' is, but I guess we'll find out! read more

Ann was the lady helping me. She was so sweet and really took the time to make sure that my nails were natural and the perfect shape. She was precise with the shape and size of each nail. Ann and her staff have always been accommodating and make sure that what I'm envisioning is possible. I also appreciate that they take their time and pay attention to detail. My acrylics and regular pedicure usually last me 4-5 weeks and I am pretty physically active! One of my favorite things is getting my nails done and after frequenting quite a few different locations, I have to say this is my new local favorite. I just had my nails done 6 days ago here by Mark I believe. He did a very mediocre job. I could've gone to another hole in the wall nail salon and would've received the same service for Way cheaper. This nail salon is WAY overpriced first off, I got a acrylic gel manicure with the "coffin" shape. $39 wasted!!! All other salons in the area charge $30-35 (I've called most of them within a 5 mile radius) yet this one had the "best" reviews. I should've just gone to a cheaper one!!!! I showed Mark the nail shape I wanted which is the shape of the fake nails they use for the gel colors selection, yet when he was about to cut the acrylic he didn't seem to understand what "shape" so I showed him a picture of a thin coffin set FROM THEIR OWN YELP PHOTOS. My nails turned out NOTHING like the photo!! After he applied the acrylic I pointed out that my left index finger was CROOKED. He looked and said "no it's not I'll fix it when I file"-- whatever ITS STILL CROOKED. He used an excessive amount of nail glue and it got ALL OVER my fingers and he did nothing to try to take the residue off. WTH I'm sorry but I've NEVER had any issue with residue being left on my hands to crust up at ANY nail salon. Considering I'm paying $39 + tip for this service you'd think they'd at least be efficient and not trashy?!?!?! Horrible and ridiculous. It's now been 6 days and the gel is starting to peel off and the gel polish is completely bubbly and uneven on most of my nails. The color was originally white and now it's turned to a dingy light grey color. This is probably one of the worst experiences at an expensive salon and I deeply regret coming here and wasting my money. I did not have an appointment and it seemed like each manicurists already had a set schedule because they are that busy, so it was understandable that I had to wait 30 minutes, but I at least waited while my feet is soaking and I'm seated on a massage chair. The manicurists really take their time in pampering you and doing their job correctly. I only came in for the express pedicure for $16 but I should have gotten the $19 pedicure because it came with a lot more pampering like bottom soles of the feet scrubbed and feet being wrapped in heated towels, which I've never seen in other nail salons. I have been a customer for over 4 years. I've always left overly-satisfied with my nails and the staff here. I would make appointments for my mom and me with ease, expecting to enjoy a calming experience. Recently, over the past 6 months, I have not enjoyed my time with elite as much as I have in the past. When making an appointment over the phone there is rarely any availability with any staff at any time, and then when I walk in there is nobody in there. Also, there is only one person, Ann, who can do acrylic. I've seen person after person be turned away because only Ann can do acrylic nails out of the entire staff. Furthermore, a simple, one-color manicure pedicure takes about 2 hours because they finish your toes before someone starts your nails, even when part of the staff is hanging out and chatting by the island. I would try to request Lily because she was consistent with quality and kindness. My most recent request was denied when I was told she no longer works there with no followed explanation. When requesting other staff members for my nails, I would come in and someone completely different would do my nails. Overall, I used to be a loyal customer, but after losing the attentiveness and precision that elite used to once have I will be moving on to another nail salon. read more

I have always been a loyal customer here. I've always been treated with kindness at this location. Within past visits, I have always left the salon beyond pleased with my nails. Da did my pedicure and she did a great job! She never did any hidden fees, I love how my pedicure came out! Ngi had done my gel manicure this time around. Mind you, I had very long nails natural nails prior to coming in. I asked Ngi to cut only how much had grown out and to file it in a coffin shape. She had cut my nails with a cuticle cutter and cut off more than what had grown out; it was already cut though, what could have I done? After she was done filing and cutting my nails, I compared my hands and my right hand was significantly shorter than my left hand. I then asked her to cut my LONGER nail and POINTED to it and she went ahead and cut the shorter nail. In addition go that, she had broken the shorter nail when cutting it even shorter. The actual manicure did not go as bad as the rest of my appointment. Though I came in at 1:20, I did not leave until almost 3 pm. Ngi was very tedious about her work and made sure it was very clean which I appreciated because I did white polish. Not even 2 hours later, my middle finger on my left hand had already slightly chipped and I had bubbles on multiple fingers. As much as I love this nail salon and their staff, this time around my nails were awful. I can understand that they were busy but I did call 20-30 minutes prior asking if they could take me in. The lady who answers the phone is incredibly rude. I was trying to reschedule my appointment with HANIE. She kept insisting it was ANNIE or AMY. Lady! Hanie freaking showed me her name tag the last time I was there!! Back story, I've always been very nervous when trying new nail salons. I like techs to be gentle yet efficient and personable. I came from a salon where a gentleman did my nails. The last straw I had with him was when I had a few nails that started to lift and I pointed them out to him.. any other nail tech that I've had previous would cut off the lifted part and add more acrylic material, but he just aggressively put glue under my nails and forcibly pushed it down to my skin. He then took the fine point drill and proceeded to drill the glue away from my skin. I had a fill more than 3 times up to that point and that to me seemed that it could possibly cause air pockets and could potentially lead to bacteria growth. So I decided to try a different salon. A coworker of mine had recommended this place to me a few months ago, but I felt okay at the moment with my current place. When I got fed up, I called Elite and I explained that I would need nail removal, a new set with dip powder and a pedicure. She told me they could see me at 1 pm. I showed up 15 mins early and they got started with my pedicure first. Kayla, the girl who did my pedicure was great. Like many places they had you their pedicure menu and ask which one you'd like. I chose the classic, which is $29, as it's been about a month since I had one - I like to get the good stuff once a month. She then asked if I wanted a strong massage and I said yes! I like a firm hand when getting massages. Kayla did a good job and my toes looked good. For the first 10-15 mins while getting my pedicure, I wondered if the tech doing my toes would be doing my nails too as everyone was busy... then Amy came over to get started on removing my nails. Amy was very gentle and asked me if she was hurting me. It was a little tender during the process, but nothing I couldn't handle. Once she finished, my nails looked completely battered. She asked me if I wanted to add tips bc my nails were very weak or if I just wanted to cut them down and have my nails shorter since they wouldn't hold up on their own. I let her add a tip and requested to have them short enough to type with and she began clipping away. When she asked me what shape I wanted I explained to her that I usually like them tapered (I tend to get them a little long), but these were too short so I wanted square-round. After I said that she said she would do tapered for me with square round and it wouldn't look bad. I was a little nervous, but when she was done they looked exactly how I wanted them. It was perfect! Not to mention, Amy and I kept a conversation going which not many nail techs do. She was super friendly. I found out that we share some things in common as I used to go to school in the city she currently lives in. I'll definitely be requesting her from now on. All in all this spot has by far topped any experience I've had in Placentia/Yorba Linda since moving out here from Fountain Valley. It's busy but not too crazy for a Friday afternoon. read more
