Terry Sneed was once a good PT, but as she grew her business the quality of care dipped. I experienced pain and trauma every time I went there. Sessions exceeded two hours and once she was done torturing me using pressure that was agonizing or dry needles that hurt horribly, she passed me off to her techs who wasted my time having me do exercises I could do at home. She videotaped me sitting in her waiting room and made comments to other PTs about me, as if I wasn't even there. She often projected her orthopedic issues on me and asserted things about my health that were patently untrue. I was depressed every time I had to go there. I later found two other PTs who were night and day different and they really helped. As Ms. Sneed asserts she's the only one who could work with dancers, I found a PT who was a former dancer who had me doing things specifically to inform dance movement. She also did manual therapy and while it was uncomfortable, it didn't leave me in tears. I'd steer clear of this practice unless you want to spend two hours be tortured or doing exercises in a crowded, noisy room with techs instead of working one on one with a PT. read more

I've had physical therapy for foot, knee and hip issues on and off for many years from many different providers.  This is the best team I've encountered. I made rapid progress. I returned to their care after surgery to repair my rotator cuff, and once again, Terry and Team have returned me to health. I've only had two visits, but already I see Elite being completely different than any other PT experiences I've had. They actually work out you. I leave this place feeling sore, but feeling like progress is being made to getting me back to 100%. I had a shoulder/rotator cuff injury a few months back and tried to ignore it hoping it would heal on it's own, but that never happened. A co-worker raved about Elite and I see why. Since the injury, my shoulders are always tense, tight, and knots in my muscles. The pain had gotten so bad, that I found myself favoring my left side...I'm not left handed. So, you know it must have been bad. The first visit was an evaluation. So, let's talk about my 2nd visit. They therapist did a deep tissue on the muscles surrounding my rotator. Ouch ouch ouch!!!!! Hurt like crazy, but OMG I felt a million times better after. They also had me do a series of exercises and did electrode therapy along with cold to reduce any swelling. A few days later, I was still a bit sore from the deep tissue, but it was well worth it. That along with the at home exercises they prescribed are already making a difference. I absolutely love the people at Elite. Not only is every single person super-nice, but they're flexible with appointment scheduling and extremely helpful with any prescribed exercises, etc. I have knee problems, and have done a couple rounds of physical therapy before. This was the first time with physical therapy in DC, and I chose Elite because it's located in my office building, which is a definite plus over having to trek down to Georgetown Hospital during work. Terry, the main physical therapist is wonderful and definitely knows what she's doing. Briana, the office manager, is like my new best friend - we chat every time I go and she's very sweet. Both the therapists and support staff are top notch. I found Elite just by looking at a list from my insurance company and picking the closest provider to my house but I am so glad I got lucky and would definitely recommend to a friend. Brian really helped me with an ankle injury and Jimmy, Siobhan, and everyone else were great at keeping things on schedule. They deal with the insurance paper work for you which is a huge plus- many medical providers I have been to recently have made me pay up front and then deal with the insurance myself. So, I had initially written a bad review about this place a few months back, however I took it down and reached out to Terry (the owner) in an attempt to make amends with her. I called several times and spoke to her assistants who always told me she would call back, but I was ignored each time. I will put it out there that these PTs are excellent- and I have not had problems with any of them except Terry. Let's rewind a bit. I had been nothing but an established and loyal patient of theirs since 2013. I worked with one of the other PTs and received excellent care. Over the summer, however, I had a hip surgery back home that they recommended I undergo. I came back in September to resume my rehab, but here's the kick that changed everything: my insurance had stopped paying for my PT visits, and I began paying out of pocket. Let's also include the fact that I am a college student and I have drained every last cent of my bank account to medical bills the past few years - mainly Elite PT. I arranged a payment plan with them, and paid a portion of the charges at each visit until I could complete my rehab and pay the remaining balance. I was in the middle of an insurance appeal to get them to pay for my visits, when Terry offered to write me a letter to support my appeal! Great, except it took her a month to do it, despite my many phone calls and reminders that my appeal had an upcoming due date. Well, a month later when I finally got the letter, I also received a phone call from them on a random morning the day I had a visit, telling me they would cancel my visits until I could pay my balance. 1. This is not what we had initially agreed on with the payment plan. 2. I was appealing for benefits from my insurance- and she only slowed down the process by taking a month to write the letter she offered to write. If you didn't want to do it, why offer in the first place? 3. At least give me more notice than on the same morning I had a visit, so that I could get my affairs in order. All my attempts to work this out were ignored. Then, I started receiving statements with charges that were incorrect, that did not include payments I knew I had made, and charges for days that I did not even have a visit!! They also laid out their statements in a very confusing fashion, thinking I would notice all their hidden charges, but I did. I had to send them two letters outlining the corrections that needed to be made, and all I got back was a letter demanding payments the next few months. Oh, let's also mention this letter was sent to the address I specifically requested they stop sending mail to, since I do not readily receive mail from there. Unorganized mess of an office. This office started out blissful, and developed into a nightmare. They very well knew my situation from the very beginning, and I am a college student unable to receive a steady income because of my physical disability. I am truly saddened to have had to leave this place, because their skills were great- but only if they were getting your money. It's also a waste I had to take the time out of my day to rewrite this review after having taken it down (in an attempt to reconcile), but their actions have prompted me to put it back up. I have no desire to work with such heartless people, and you shouldn't either. read more

Not only have they resolved my chronic pain, but I have also learned how to manage my aches and pains myself. Everyone who works there is well trained, very friendly and highly professional. Terry is beyond fantastic. Her customer service and level of personalized treatment is the best I have seen and I have been in therapy for at least 5 yrs (don't ask). When one looks for Doctor or Therapist these days, the biggest concern is whether the patient will be treated a like a patient or just another walking ATM. Well, Terry has somehow managed to really care about each patient and their individualized needs. She is really good at what she does and can figure out what the issue may be quickly and zone in on a treatment plan where you feel yourself getting better fast. One weekend, I had enormous pain in my right foot/knee/back. First thing Monday morning, I called to see if she would see me impromptu. Initially, Lolita at the front desk (who is extremely competent, pleasant to talk to and good at her job) informed me that Terry was fully booked and had no appts available. Once I explained the situation to Lolita, they were able to squeeze me in quickly to ensure that nothing was horribly wrong. Accommodating to see me that day was huge for me and i know it was probably difficult for them logistically. But that's the level of customer service and care they provide!! The only thing I would change is some of the technicians that work with you on the exercise don't seem to pay attention to your form or don't seem to check to see whether you are doing the exercises correctly. I had neck problems that had very serious pain , tingling , numbness, twitching .I saw Terry she recognized this was serious and put me in touch with Dr Kobrine who did outstanding operation . I had a minor running injury while training for a half marathon. The injury wasn't really interfering with my day to day life but it completely stopped me from being able to run which was making me miserable. Mia and the whole team took me seriously and were sympathetic to getting me back to running, not just healed. I never felt like my time was wasted - they did things during our appointment that I wouldn't be able to do on my own like deep tissue massage, needling and running in an anti gravity treadmill and then let me do stretching and things on my own time, after teaching me the appropriate strategies. They are also all extremely friendly and it's just a pleasant environment to be around. I like the community feel of the main exercise room, but there are also private areas if needed. I just thought to write this review after coming back from a wonderful 3 mile run. I'm now much more familiar with my body in regards to running and not only can I run pain free, I feel confidant that I have the tools to prevent the injury again. I hope I never have to see these lovely people again, but if I do find myself needing PT in the future I won't hesitate to go back to Elite Physical Therapy. read more

I've sought treatment at a handful of physical therapy centers over the past several years due to a persistent hip injury. Elite Physical Therapy is by far the best, most professional place I've ever been to. Terri, the owner, is truly a miracle worker and appraoches each patient's case individually. With Terri, there is no one-size fits all treatment and she tries a variety of techniques if something doesn't seem to be working. She has an almost uncanny ability to diagnose and isolate pain. Her knowledge of the body and how everything is connected as well as the medical profession makes her feel like much more than your average phsyical therapist. Although the Glover Park location is not very convenient for me to get to, I will never see another PT again since I don't think I could ever find better than Terri. read more

I had foot surgery that became infected and, in total, I was unable to put weight on my foot for four months. By the time I walked into Elite PT, my left leg was significantly atrophied. I worked with Mia and she was truly exceptional. She listened closely and sketched out a path for the long way back to health. We tried a variety of exercises to find those (at each stage) that progressed my recovery. It was truly exceptional to work with someone that had a genuine interest in my well being and I highly recommend Elite to anyone. read more

Quite simply, the best PT clinic in the country. And I know what I am talking about, I've been to many many PTs and Chiros. Terry & Natalia are magicians. It doesn't take them very long to find the trouble, but they will take as long as they need to get rid of it. And they have every possible technique at their disposal -- manual manipulation, massage, electrical stim, ultrasound, dry needling, cupping, pilates machines, free weights, bikes, and on, and on. I've been going to Terry At Elite Physical Therapy for both hip bursitis/tendonitis and neck/shoulder/rotator cuff problems. I've been dealing with my hip problem for over 3 years (spending all last year trying to get better) and in about a month I have seen more relief from the treatment that Terry has provided than I have had since incurring this injury. I finally feel hopeful that I am going to be pain free this year. She has also been a true miracle worker in helping me with my neck/shoulder problems. From the first time I met her, I had a very strong feeling she was going to help me more than any other physical therapist, chiropractor or doctor I had been to, and I was right. Her methods work better than any others I have had. She is truly skilled and professional and really takes the time to sort out all of your background and current situation so she can provide the best possible treatment. I must have called her an angel 10 times the first week I started seeing her. The rest of the office staff has been great too from reception to billing. Terry is very good at diagnosing problems, giving you very important next steps to take and coordinating with other care providers, even your personal trainer, if needed. Obviously I highly recommend Terry and Elite to anyone seeking physical therapy. I am so glad I found this place, which was recommended by my orthopedist.
