The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to get a tanning booth right away. The booths are clean and up to date.

I went in to get rid of my farmer's tan. The lady who I spoke to insisted that even though it was my first tan that I wouldn't burn if I went into their level 5 bed for 12 minutes because it used UVA rays instead of UVB. She claimed many times she had never seen anyone burn in there. I went in for 10 because I was wary of her claims. I feel that the employee was not trained in the safety of these beds. Either that or she was just wanting my money, it is a business after all. I did not feel burned while tanning, but I am painfully burned now all over my legs, and torso. I will return because I feel that the facility is clean and that I am partially to blame because I didn't trust my gut instinct, but ouch! Lesson learned the hard way! I wish my internet was working in my phone so that I could have researched the bed while waiting. Warning: Fair skinned people should go in for 4 min tops the first time just like the other beds. ***Update*** I have been into this salon 3 times now. The first time is spoken about above. It took 3 or so weeks to heal enough to where I wasn't hurting. So I started to try tanning again. Time 2: The bed had not been cleaned. I wiped it down as best as I could. Time 3: The blonde with the long curly hair had not bothered to turn on the tanning bed. So I had to get completely dressed and go back to the front counter. Then the waiting began. What the heck was she doing when customers were waiting? Finally a hairdresser noticed I was standing there and went to fetch her. She gave me some silly excuse about why the bed want turned on, but I was more concerned about why I had to wait on her? When I worked in the salon business, someone always had to mind the front desk. I didn't even get a tan in. So the next day I called and cancelled my membership. No one mentioned me coming in to do so. She just said she did it. So yeah, I never did get a good tan here at all. Now 7-1-2016 they used my card again for around $80! Meanwhile the owner is still very understanding and promised to give me back my money. I still think he can't be faulted for his staffs shortcomings. Everyone has off days. Maybe I just got the brunt of all of this. Maybe it is just my luck. My bad karma perhaps? Justin is still a super nice guy, but because I budget my luxury time, I have to be as up front as possible. Perhaps I can do business with him elsewhere, but it won't be with a tanning bed in mind. Please be advised I have not experienced their salon yet, so this review does not reflect the hair dressers in any way. read more

I went in last night for a tanning session and a spray tan. It was amazing. The young lady at the front desk was most helpful in getting me set up and picking the right tan and levels so I didn't burn. Then for the spray booth helped pick a color so I didn't come out like a deviant Oompa Loompa. My color is fabulous. No streaks, no burns, and my skin is silky soft. Very confused by the "owner" response. Took me a bit to wrap my head around. Firstly, if you had responded as simple as "Hey Joshua, I'd like to look into this further. Could you provide any detail like the time, date, or who the staff member was?" Not only would I have gladly given that, then you could see my short, chubby, bearded, sarcastic face sitting on the cushy victorian-esc pillow on your CCTV, but I would have also given props for fast response by giving 3 stars or removing my review. Because, as I said, my normal tone can seem rather sarcastic and I can seem a little somber. And I was surprised to see haircuting (more of a barber guy myself) so I assumed the units were nice and worked pretty well. As I said, I am NOT a tanner. I had NOT done any tanning before. My plan was to get 1-2 spray for looks, and start UV tanning to balance out long term. No idea if this was a good idea or not, which is WHY I came to visit. Had never used a tanning thing previously. I was first confused by the boys comment and my friends. I only honestly know 2 of the "Yelp" friends. All the rest I just accept after someone sends a request (sans creeps), because I was told it was good for Yelp. Looks like if Evan is the owner I got that request shortly after my review in '13, so makes sense. I work/live in Yuma and have family in Goodyear, so Avondale isn't too far away now that they opened one. Is that the same owner? I go awfully early in the AM, before any sane manager should be there. But for a place owned or run by "boys" I think they do a pretty good job. I wrote two reviews for a place that has like 1200 national locations. I guess that makes me "involved very much" as you said. Not a bad idea there justin-boy, I might take you up on that idea !! Maybe when I travel for work I will pop in to any close by, start reviewing more. Does Texas have better customer service than SoCal? Stay tuned to find out !! I was very confused by your comment on how an elite tanning saloon would be a competition with a fitness center, it totally baffled me. But then I looked at YOUR two friends. Another Joshua, who owns Snap Fitness. Now the story becomes clearer. I still don't see how Snap is really a competitor with Planet, but it is a lot closer than a tanning salon at least. read more

I went in for a wax and Elena (esthetician) was very professional! She did a great job on my wax . The room is very clean and nice !

I went there for a spray tan and was nervous but it turned out great! The woman (Ellana or Alaina sp?) who does the spray tans was so professional and nice. I would definitely go back if I was staying in town. Also, Brittany, who answered the phone, was super sweet and answered all my questions. I had a sunless tanning subscription and my monthly fee was prorated since I began towards the end of the month. For the most part, I've been pleased with the services as the establishment is clean. However, on occasion they have ran out of solution for the Versa. I discovered I was pregnant and due to this, sunless tanning is contraindicated. I went in to cancel my subscription the first week of the month and was told that I'd have to pay for the entire month regardless of the reason for cancellation. I left my number for the owner to call, which he never did. I felt pretty good about my experience with this establishment until this happened. I thought it was unfair that the monthly subscription fee could be prorated in the beginning but not during termination. I feel ambivalent about using them again, with such a rigid policy. read more
