I've usually gotten the deva cut before where they cut the hair dry, but Fernando does it wet and did a good job! This is an updated review. I came back 6 months later and had a complete opposite experience with the same hairdresser. My layers we're very choppy & butchered. I did come back and she did try to fix it for free, & also said she would fix it later on as it would grow, but I was not offered a refund or discount. My trust has been destroyed and I'm just not sure if I can go back again to get it fixed. I was very excited to get my hair done as it had been a while, so I took a before picture. I asked for a few layers for body, and not too much of the length only about an inch. The whole front end was chopped, instead of being layered I am extremely upset. Look no further fellow curly girls! I had my curly hair cut by Fernando. Fernando asked me what I wanted, listened to my concerns, and did his best to deliver for me. He asked me if I liked volume or not so he could take that into consideration. Then he gave me nice well blended layers. When he was done with that he asked me if I wanted him to do some star thing To my hair that would add volume and specifically showed me where that layer would start. I liked that he didn't just do what he thought was best but followed what I wanted. Plus The price was excellent considering the quality. I will definitely be going back! Fernando really listens to what you have to say, what you want, explains what he is going to do. It is very refreshing. He cut my hair dry, so he could see which way the curl is going. It was my first time here and I loved the service!! Mary was an excellent conversationalist and kept a pleasant conversation with me. She was very accommodating as well and kept letting me know when she was going to cut more off from my bangs and rest of my hair. I walked in with no picture of what I wanted except for the knowledge that I wanted my hair to look softly curved and not too long... haha kind of vague and specific all at once! But she said she'd do one cut first and if I wanted to change it that she would cut more. So being a bit picky with my hair and having had other hairdressers get too scissor happy with my bangs, I was wary and cautious and a little nervous, but I felt the moment I saw Mary that I was in good hands. After the first run she showed me what she had done and she made modifications until I liked how it looked :) She also offered to curl my hair for me if I wanted, since I had never fully curled my super straight mane before! I love it and my hair looks like one of those princess hairs in the Disney movies... like Belle, I should say, but black. I also found out they do wax here as well.... so why not! She did everything for a great price. I love my princess hair, and it looks so healthy and full which is what I was going for.
