Elizabeth saved my wedding dress and day. I was so scared that my dress was ruined by someone recommended by the bridal shop (big mistake). Elizabeth was referred to me and I'm so grateful they did. At a fraction of the cost the prior place was charging, she was worth triple!! I came to her because I had just left my dress with another alterations for weeks that didn't do anything they said they would. I was a wreck. Short notice and she was very real by saying it's hard to fix other people's mistakes but she did. My dress was stunning and she made it fit like a glove. You can see how much she had to take in (over an inch in each side). I was in tears because I couldn't believe the other place treated me that way and how much gratitude I had for Elizabeth because when she looked me dead in the eyes and said we have plenty of time, I got you, I believed her. I have been using Elizabeth's Alteration's for well over 15 years. She always did a great job and although her prices were never cheap I always felt I got the value for my money. Skip to October of this year when I took in several pieces to prepare for my trip to Hawaii. Literally half of my items were not sewn correctly. On my pants one leg was shorter than the other. Dresses... longer in front, shorter in back (by about 2") Elizabeth did her best to correct most of my items, but you can't add on fabric when too much is taken away. My brand new $75 dress was unwearable. So stressful for me right before my trip. Bottom line, I'm not going back. Quality & consistency is very important to me. Plus I'm out $150, and the cost of my clothes. read more

We were fortunate to find Elizabeth's! We had gone to a local bridal shop where my daughters wedding gown was made incorrectly. After an entire year of problems with that bridal shop,we found Elizabeth's Alterations. Idae took care of us. She is outstanding seamstress. She was very kind and sorry to hear of the difficulty and she assured us that she could de-construct, and re-construct the gown - complete with the sequined layer of fabric that had been omitted by the bridal shop, and have it ready in time for my daughter's wedding on April 21st, 2018. One of those hole-in-wall gems. I needed alterations on a lace dress for a wedding and was somewhat crunched for time. Was able to drop my dress and pick it up a week later. Perfect! My only complaint is that they're cash only. A little inconvenient but was directed to ATM at the nearest grocery store. They do have a sign reminding you but of course I forgot. You don't pay until you pick-up. read more

I've used Elizabeth to tailor my shirts, pants, and suits for over a decade now. In fact my whole family has followed Elizabeth from her old shop to her current one on the southwest corner of Missouri and 7th Ave. Her shop is small and no frills and a little bit hard to find (right in middle of a mini strip center), but she's worth the trouble. Her friendly (but firm) Polish accent greets you each time you stop in and she's usually got a team or two or three seamstresses alongside her working on both men's and women's clothing items. The time it takes to get your clothing back varies depending on how busy she is, but in most cases I've gotten my clothes tailored and back to me within 2-3 days. The longest I think it's ever taken for one of my tailoring jobs was a week. One thing to keep in mind is Elizabeth's is CASH ONLY (like I said, its a no frills operation). World class skills - who cares if it's cash only! The cash policy simplifies her life and frees up time to tend to the real business - making your clothes fit properly. I rarely write reviews, but this business deserves my time. First, read on if you accept that the time/money for alterations makes the difference between clothes that fit and your basic good deal on sale. I've taken clothes to Elizabeth for years and always, always trust her advice, and have never been disappointed. Prices are fair and outcomes excellent. Next, for new garments, consider leaving the tags on and consult with Elizabeth to see if it's feasible to invest a little more. If she is hesitant, return it and be glad you aren't regretting the purchase every time you wear it. A few examples: Occasionally I've gone in for an alteration with an idea of how I would do it (you know, if I had an extra 4 hours to get my sewing machine out, search through the thread, wind a bobbin, think it through, make a trip out for the right needle, etc). She sometimes offers a better approach that had not even occurred to me. From a $500 jacket splurge a few years ago to a $28 fabulous deal just last month at Last Chance (where else would you go in May to buy a real coat for a cold country trip?), I've never been sorry I trusted her judgement. So, go figure the payoff: I got the $28 Vince Camuto jacket for a steal, paid $40 to have the sleeves shortened (which required more than just trimming off sleeve length), and now I have a $68 waterproof stylish coat that fits perfectly. Elizabeth has worked her magic for me on garments ranging from that splurge jacket purchase at Nordstrom, an Armani trench I once found at Sisters' Closet, a nice jacket that had too puffy shoulder, and once a great find at Goodwill. Bottom line: In a pinch and a hurry for hemming, you might take a pair of jeans to the quickie shop a couple of miles away, but Elizabeth is your woman for everything else. read more

Elizabeth was super in assisting in resolving a somewhat embarrassing clothing malfunction. The button above the fly on my trousers fell off while I was out on a sales call. Fortunately, I spotted the button on the ground, picked it up and put it in my pocket before my meeting, so no harm, no foul. But I needed to get that button sewed back on, pronto! Using my phone and my GPS, Elizabeth's Alterations was the nearest place, so I drove over. I explained my situation and Elizabeth was quick to offer a simple, practical, thorough solution. I stepped into a changing room, took off my trousers and handed them, and the button, out of the room to Elizabeth, who returned a few minutes later with the button nicely sewed on.
