It's taken me over a year to write this review, but the fact that I'm still this upset over my experience here should tell you how horrible it was. I cannot let it go, avoid this place at all costs. I truly believe this woman is a scam artist. I brought in patio cushions to have reupholstered because I was getting my house photographed to list to sell at the time. I told her on the front end that I had pictures set up in a few weeks and needed them by a certain date, she said no problem. I also asked her if I could pay half up front and half when I pick up, to make sure the work was done right, again she said no problem and was very polite about. Fast forward I come back to pick up the patio cushions on the date we agreed upon, and she had unexpectedly closed her shop for a week, leaving nothing but a note on her door. I tried to reach her via phone and could not get in touch with anyone. I then had to reschedule my photos and pay a fee for that. Fast forward again I go back a week later, bc I had no other option but to wait until when the note said she'd return, and she's there but the cushions are not done. She apologized and said that she would have them done by the end of that week. At this time she showed me she had already stripped them of the old material so I could not just take them somewhere else. I left them there, agreed to the new date and explained to her that she had already cost me one rescheduling fee and it was not acceptable and they needed to be done by the new date. Of course I come in on the new date we agreed on and she hasn't even worked on them. When I confront her about this she says it's because I only paid half up front and she needed it all up front. I asked her why she didn't say this when we agreed on payment in the beginning or the last time I was at her shop. Then she starts screaming at me that she has cancer and doesn't trust me to pay her, and wouldn't return my cushions (even not done) or the hundreds of dollars of fabric that I bought and brought to her until I paid her. I legit felt blackmailed by this woman and get angry everytime I drive by her place now. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Store closed with no notice to customers who needed their items by a specific date.

I would give zero stars if I could. I dropped two items off for completion in February. One item needed to be repaired and one item needed to be hemmed. The owner was told when the items needed to be competed by and it was a hard deadline as I needed one of the items for an event. Imagine my surprise when I went to pick up my items and the shop was closed with a note stating she needed to time to catch up and reorganize. I finally get my items back today and the alteration to the skirt is comically bad. The hem is so crooked that it looks like a small child did the work. THIS is why she makes you pay up front. No other alterations place does this. It's because she knows her work is garbage. of course when you ask for a refund she says no. The skirt is brand new and now it is a complete mess. I will have to take it somewhere else to correct the mess she made. I also have a claim with my bank for reimbursement. As an aside, when picking up the two items, they were not bagged and not together. It took her a minute to find the item that was in for repair. This place is a disorganized disaster. STAY AWAY. She will take your money, ruin your clothes and then smirk in your face when you ask for your money back. She might look like a cute, old grandma, but she is a straight up grifter.

We live nowhere near this location & we still have gone out of our way for over a decade & given them our business. We gave them our business during the pandemic-- because we believed in helping out local businesses & truly, we thought they appreciated it. I don't know what has changed & I have sat on this draft for over a month waiting for this dry cleaner to return a call over a ruined scarf-one that they know that they damaged; one that they either have chosen to ignore, or just have forgotten about. I will start by also stating we like the people who have always ran this location &I don't understand what has shifted so drastically in the way they do business & treat customers. BUT there has been a shift in many ways. I'll start with what has caused me to post a negative review . In November, I sent in our clothes via my husband for our weekly dry cleaning & one for alteration. My clothing was picked up about a week later & when my husband got home it home , I checked it , something I had started doing due to some other errors mainly with alterations that I had let go. The designer scarf ( Coach) had a safety pin in it & it had caused pin holes along with several snags. I noticed it immediately. This scarf was bought about 3 months prior &I like to take it on my business trips - it's a casual, small easy 'bandeau' scarf. I took some photos & called Martinizing as soon as I saw it. I was asked to text her the photos of the scarf. I sent the photos to a different number & she acknowledged the damage. She insisted over and over she could make my silk scarf right again. My husband took my scarf in a week later since we had been customers for so long we decided to give them a chance. The 'correction' took another several days & when my husband brought this scarf home some of the pin holes were gone now but the scarf was still damaged & again, not in the original condition in which it had been dropped to Martinizing in November. I called Martinizing -- my call was declined. I called again. It didn't go through. I called a third time and this time I left a voicemail advising them of what I expected now that I had given them the opportunity to 'fix' my damaged scarf over three weeks ago. I gave them til after the holidays considering they may be busy too call me back; no call back. I emailed the Martinizing corporate office-- again no response. I have now reached out to try and recoup the damage to a relatively new scarf that was a staple piece in my business attire via the Better Business Bureau and within two hours I received a response stating that I 'had sent the original damaged photos rather than the ones they 'fixed'. I was only allowed on the BBB site to upload so many MB of photos; I figured it was important to show the original damage caused to my scarf. I actually uploaded 3 of the before and 2 of the after. All show the damage. In their response on BBB they state that 'the manufacturers care tag was missing'; so they acknowledge damage but do nothing? No one discounts that but if you as a dry cleaner can't properly dry clean a silk scarf without putting a safety pin in it & possibly ruining the silk without a tag attached, then it was up to you as the business to reach out to the owner, (my husband or myself), as you had in the past when you had a question about clothing dropped off (and that had been done via text or call!), and ask!.. this time, that was not done. I also found that ironic that a knee jerk response was given to the BBB considering that Martinizing had a voicemail from me on 15DEC. that they did not return to either me or my husband. I asked for our dry cleaning bill to voided or the cost this scarf-- both about the same in cost. Not unreasonable. Please tell me how it is you can drop off something in perfect condition to be cleaned- it comes back damaged- you reach out to discuss options with the business who caused the damage & they ghost you & gaslight you in messages as though it's your fault? How does that happen? I have now reached out to the Attorney General's office. I am so disappointed in how they have handled ruining an item. I am not the first nor will I be the last customer who has an issue. I think in the cost of doing business it's in how you handle it. The cost of losing a long time loyal customer to me, is more costly than admitting the mistake & making it right. An apology goes a long way when it was the business who ruined an item of a loyal customer. I guess I learned a lesson in loyalty.. I hope the $125 Coach scarf is worth how bad it looks that you were too pride driven to say you were truly sorry - call and apologize and use the words, "how can we earn your trust back?" So incredibly sad.

Arcadia Dry Cleaners does not stand by their work. Look at the lower-rated reviews and trust them…read more They ruined a beautiful structured blazer with shoulder pads and a full lining, and they have refused not only to speak with me, but to inspect the damage in person. Even more bizarrely, when I called on 6/18 after returning from my trip to inform them that the blazer was still unwearable, with flattened shoulder pads and visible distortion, the manager, R, said she would "look at the cameras" and speak to the owners. Huh? I was shocked by that response. I was reporting damage to a garment, not making some suspicious claim that required surveillance footage of me dropping it off. No one ever called me back. And I have plenty of pics pre-damage. When I called again on 6/23 to follow up because I had not received a return call, R mocked the way I spoke and the tone of my voice(!!!), spoke over me, laughed, and offered only a refund of the dry-cleaning fee. I have never heard of a dry cleaner refusing to even inspect an item when a customer reports damage, or refusing to discuss repair options. I brought the blazer to them twice. It had been tried on multiple times for a formal event in CT, including with my 79-year-old mother, and including just two days before I first brought it in. It fit perfectly, and I was obsessed with it. I have plenty of photos from trying on outfits that show the condition and fit before it was cleaned, damaged, and improperly pressed by Arcadia Cleaners. After the first dry cleaning, the blazer came back visibly damaged, sloppily pressed, and highly distorted. I have a full video documenting the shocking condition and have attached photos to this review. There were lines all over the lining, the seams were not straight, the lining had odd dots, folds, and dents, the pockets were sagging very low, and the shoulder pads -- which gave the garment its beautiful structure -- were oddly pressed flat. When they re-did the cleaning, they at least pressed the lining flat, but the shoulder pads came back even flatter. But the structure, flow and shaping was ruined as can be seen clearly in the before and after pic. This was pressed flat as if it were a dress or a shirt, and it drastically changed the shape of the garment. For some reason, Arcadia Cleaners has not even looked at the blazer to see if it can be fixed. R, the manager, essentially laughed at me today which is not how I expect anyone to treat anyone, and certainly not in a local service business. I am deeply uncomfortable with how dismissive and hostile the response has been. As a member of a minority group, I cannot ignore how I was mocked and treated, especially given their refusal to engage with me respectfully and reasonably, or even look at the item and photos. Whatever the reason, the handling of this situation has been unacceptable. I will be visiting a tailor for an estimate to restore the blazer to the condition it was in before Arcadia Cleaners ruined it, and I will continue pursuing this. I would not trust Arcadia Cleaners with anything -- and certainly not structured, vintage, tailored, lined, delicate, or valuable clothing. Trust the feeling you get when you walk in, look at the types of garments they have hanging up, and notice your interactions with employees who seem to be new and not well trained, which is clearly demonstrated by their work and my continued unprofessional interactions with them. Even the woman checking me in made an error and then couldn't tell me how much the dry cleaning would be. This is how Arcadia Dry Cleaners seems to be choosing to run their business and engage with their customers and community. A dry cleaner should stand behind its work, and be competent to clean and press a lined blazer with shoulder pads. Arcadia Dry Cleaners does not.
