    My king bed

Phenomenal hotel. I have stayed here twice now and I highly recommend it. It's in the perfect location, right in the heart of downtown Banff. Right across the street from the high school, where all the bus routes stop, making it so easy to get anywhere. Excellent staff! Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Matthew at the front desk provided exceptional service, and even helped me with a late check out to make it easier on my shuttle and flight schedule. I love all the modern decor and amenities. My king bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed the products in the bathroom. Espresso machine, tea kettle, and refrigerator in the room too. A desk for working as well. Extra seating by the lovely window. They even provided earplugs. I really appreciate all the details. The lobby is lovely and very specious with seating options and fire place. Fresh water offered too. They have a restaurant on site, and are also connected to a really good coffee shop. They have a nice gift shop too, and inside are people who can help you book excursions. They helped book a beer cruise on a nearby lake and it was so much fun. This place has everything you need.

Wonderful hotel in the heart of the town. Onsite dining that is fairly priced. The property is clean. The bed super comfortable. The staff friendly and very helpful. There is onsite parking as well as laundromat facilities. Ski storage onsite. Shuttle pickup for the slopes..Strongly recommend the hotel.

    Dill checking in

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. From the moment we checked in they made us feel welcomed and very welcoming to our pet Dill!! Huge thank you to front desk Mathieu for all the recommendation and help. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Banff and bringing a pet!! Centrally located to all the activities and easy transport to others

Our home away from home. I chose this hotel because of its central location. Plus it was pretty darn cheap,, and decent. Also did it because there was a jacuzzi and sauna room which we never really got to utilize. Free parking was super useful, specially the fact that we rented a car so we can get around to place freely. Plus the whole underground parking area was heated. So no need to run out and start the car so it'd warm up before heading out. Plus it's kind of nice to pack up the car when you're all nice and toasty. The rooms were pretty massive. We got a corner room which was a bit noisy during the day, but then we're in Banff. We're pretty much doing stuff outside anyways. Heat controls are also done via front desk. Just let them know how warm you like it and they'll adjust it for you accordingly. I had a great time staying here during our little winter getaway. I'd definitely recommend this place for anybody who is panning on visiting Banff. Also, before I sign off,,, That deep soaker tub in the bathroom is FIRE! Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!!

Like Being On A "Cruise Ship" In The Middle Of Snow SITREP The synergy between a snowy Banff and the Elk+Avenue (EA) hotel, is really quite a nice combination: you have attentive staff, a really nice room and everything SO CLOSE. THE SETUP What is great about EA is it's location, location, location: it's in the middle of a veritable hub of activity. * Restaurants all over the place; * Awesome bakeries; * Nice clubs near by (Wild Bill's was delightful fun); * Great shopping; and my favorite, * A fantastic coffee shop just about on every nearby block: from Second Cup & White Bark, to Little Wild and Good Earth (in the hotel itself!) And that's just talking about the downtown area. SNOW ACTIVITIES With a couple of miles are MORE restaurants and event spaces, but also home to the core of Banff's snow activities, including skiing at Norquay Resort and snow-hiking up Sulphur Mountain with an exceptional Gondola ride back down. So much to do and enjoy in this area. HOTEL LOGISTICS The room arrangements & lodging amenities are very good: * Very comfortable beds; https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/elk-avenue-hotel-banff?select=cnZRenFZ5oFsKc5-kHI5cA&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w * Big screen TVs (which I had on whenever I was in the room, listening to BBC news for the "white noise"-factor; * Free underground parking garage for guests, which is a big plus BATHROOM ISSUES The bathroom was the main hiccup during this stay, and specifically the shower-situation: no one could get the shower head to work in my Room 169 since the knob regulator that switches streams of water from the side-wand to the showerhead would not cooperate (either stuck or broken), and that was frustrating, but something I learned to ignore during the stay. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/elk-avenue-hotel-banff?select=e_QDXP-jad-GUrj96Q5Lwg&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w Ce la vie. PROPS TO STAFF All things being said, and though not too impressed with the technical expertise of the maintenance staff, I really adored the front desk staff at EA and I have to give big props to the two young gals - Kirsten and Shirley - that I saw the most: they were very helpful and full of great local insights I relied upon. I think it's really cool that - like cruise ships - EA features an International staff, as in the case of Kirsten, who is from Australia. Conversations were great, and you learn a lot about the world talking with people from different regions. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/elk-avenue-hotel-banff?select=N84IXU64LyanyWr_9v25LQ&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w HOLIDAY SPIRIT It's always nice to come visit a business during a great time of year, and EA - and Banff as a whole - really spruce up nicely for the Holiday season! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/elk-avenue-hotel-banff?select=EY5PxU-bBR8S8g5xgSR2iA&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w THE LOWDOWN A very good stay while vacationing in Banff.

    Chi C.

Pleasantly surprised at the quality and service of the place. Location was good - close enough to walk to everything but far away enough to not hear the partying. I added the surprise part because when I went to check in, there were two HUGE tour buses dropping off over a dozen people from each bus. I thought crap, I went and reserved myself into a 2-night stay at a crappy place. Turns out, I was wrong. The staff was outstanding, the room was good quality, and the beds were more than comfortable. More importantly, the gaggle of tour groups I first mentioned? Didn't even know they were there after the initial check-in wait. Will definitely stay here again.

How can a hotel operate without Airconditioning? Came here on an Amtrak Canadian rookies trip, worst trip organizer ever! Amtrak has sold the group tour given impression that we will get 4 star hotels and some Tour assistance. From crown Plaza (IHG) standard, we dropped to Quality Inn bcos they 'forgotten to booked! Now in Banff, from Lake Louise to this Elk ave hotel that does not have Airconditioning and they put a dummy AC on the wall but it is not connected. A fan on ceiling and a portable fan in the closet, a pair of ear plugs at the bedside- these tell us it's going to be noisy and hot! Still have 2 days here and it's contemporary look does not do anything for my sweaty PJ even with window open as the receptionist suggested! Do Make Sure the AC is really installed with option to cancel if they did not put it in. Too HOT with so Much carpet and hairy velvet pillows!

'Banff is Alive' ... more like our hotel is noisy and we don't enforce a respectful environment for all our guests!

When you first walk in the lobby check in area is next to the large sitting area with a big fireplace that is hot enough to warm you but not make the place uncomfortable. The rooms are very well maintained and so are the walkways, fitness center, sauna, jacuzzis (2 large ones) and pool. The restaurant that is nothing the hotel we didn't eat at, but I ordered and old fashioned and it was good and strong, but no black cherry, but that was fine. The sauna was so clean and it felt great to warm up more in the mornings and relax in the jacuzzis after a hike in the evenings. The jets were powerful and the views from that area overlook the the mountains and the gondola an Norquay. This hotel was great, only one thing really, the laundry room at 2 washers and 2 dryers which were of good quality, but one was down. We stayed here for 6 days and i thought that was a good amount of time without it becoming too day to day feeling. 5 stars because we had a great time there AND they provided loaner bear sprays for all of us. I don't know if they can do it for everyone, but that saves you at lease 35 bucks for each spray that you can't take back in the flight if you do t use (and don't check bags). That was an amazing food convenience.

I guess I'm not Canadian, and I got used to it, but having a bit more wind protection on the exterior walkways would have been nice - or warmer robes.... Not an issue in summer and not a huge deal in winter but worth knowing. 2) Restaurant isn't great. Mid level chain place. Much better options in town. Staff great loved the spacious rooms and ski lockers.

So he drove us into Banff NP. We stopped at Lake Louise, Johnston Canyon, Vermillion Lakes, the cascade falls, and then we began driving to the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. What an absolutely beautiful hotel in one of Nature's most breathtaking masterpieces. The beautiful earth-toned cream colored hotel climbs from the lower mountain side and stands beautifully amongst the tall pines surrounding it. We made our way to the Vermillion Bar, where are post worked back in his college days, and were greeted by a super sweet server, Ayala, who lit up whenever she laughed and smiled with you. We enjoyed cocktails, beef, tartare, veggie Credit, charred, avocado, and a unique presentation of hot wings I've never had before - the actual wing that has two bones in it was pre-cut down the middle so you were served the 2 halves as their own individual wing. Great flavors and it was very unique and enjoyable. All of it was delicious and undeniably yummy, and fairly priced for such an elegant location. We were expecting a much higher price point and were delightfully surprised to see that even though it is a luxury location, it was not price gouging or ridiculously inflated that one often finds in so many other locations that are "elegant or nice". If you have the opportunity to treat yourself to a very beautiful sunset under the majestic Mount Rundle, and want to enjoy a modern setting in a historic landmark, this is absolutely a visit you must make while in Banff National Park. Thank you Ayala for treating us so well, and sharing your sweet Australian journey with us. Chris, David, Trisha, and Keith

They have a really nice breakfast buffet and it's included with your room. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, yogurt, juices, pastries, and more. The bar serves snacks and other food throughout the day and evening. I really enjoyed their charcuterie board. So fresh and delicious. Our room/suite was very spacious. Two queen beds and a living room area with a sofa and fire place. The beds were pretty comfortable but not amazing. We had a microwave and refrigerator, and I loved the espresso machine. We also had a dining table. The bathroom had lovely shampoo, conditioner, and body wash from a local company. My only suggestion is that I wish we had more storage options to unpack our clothes. There were some hangers to hang a few items and there was 1 drawer in the nightstand. I wish we had a dresser. Excellent and friendly staff. I really enjoyed the vibe of this place. I would definitely stay here again.
