We were able to go at our own pace without feeling the need to rush, so that was nice. As for the courses, they were okay. I wish they were more spaced out. At the end of each course and near the hole, there's a part where the barrier is low. Our balls kept going out and into the next course, which was a little annoying. In course 3, my cousin's ball got stuck in the castle/building prop. We were really confused when the ball didn't come out the other side, but we were able to find and take it out of the hole it was stuck in. Overall, we still had fun, but I don't know if I would come here again.

It was stupidly crowded, music so loud we had to yell at eachother. The place had more of a bar/club vibe than anything else. We decided to wander next door and check out the mini golf instead. Some 2000's throwback music was playing (but not obnoxiously loud) , a kids birthday party was wrapping up in the corner, and a handful of couples seemed to be enjoying their date nights. We decided to give this place a try. Overall it was a solid choice of entertainment for the evening. But I took a few stars away for the following reasons: 1. Cleanliness could be better. I sure hope they sanitize regularly. Might I even suggest hand sanitizer available and trash cans throughout the course. 2. The putting green where you place the ball at the start of each hole we're loose and spinning or completely detached on many of the holes. It made it difficult to hit the ball without making it move and fumble. These need to get repaired

It was only recently we attended if we weren't away traveling as my wife loves a huge festival that entails lots of walking, live music, shopping & food. It's an ideal place at autumn time with giant pumpkin weigh-ins. This year 2025 the top pumpkin weighed 2,147 pounds! Brian Werner from Gridley California won. This year they also had a scarecrow contest, pumpkin recipe contest, lil pumpkin cupcake & youth art contests. There were also multiple stages of entertainment & the pumpkin regatta happened on Sunday. We didn't arrive here until after an hour of opening yet they had plenty of parking at 20 dollars a pop. We did spend several hours here so it was worth our time. Also they do have kids rides & activities for them! That tractor tram ride for kids only looked so fun! It is really a family friendly event! This year we bought their Mediterranean food: chicken gyro & lamb salad. Service was good. My chicken gyro however was meh. Yet my wife loved her tasty spicy lamb salad as she ate the entire entree bc she was hangry! That value on that salad was worth it to her! My wife even purchased her favorite chocolate dipping' dots bc people kept walking past us eating them! We also observed some people dressed in costumes & lots of furry friends on leashes. An ideal place for people watching too! The weather was the most perfect right after a stormy week! Not hot as the temperature was nice & cool! Last Saturday it was odd though as the internet was down so they encouraged to bring cash! Cash is King! Now if you missed this year's festival make it a point to attend next year. It usually occurs the first weekend in October. You will be highly entertained. Seriously. My wife thought her pictures she captured were exceptionally pretty bc of the beautiful pumpkin orangey colors especially against the greenery background, bright sun & blue pond. It does make you appreciate our lovely sunny California weather. We are truly blessed.

I don't know but perhaps I was influenced by someone years back telling me it's not worth coming because there's hardly anything. Boy were they wrong!! I enjoyed every minute of the GPF. Sure it's mostly for kids but I as an adult, with no kids, I still had fun going. There are plenty of food vendors, coffee vendor and a variety of desserts (ice cream, kettle corn, shaved ice). The cooling desserts are much needed on a hot day in October like it was this past weekend. Don't forget to bring a water bottle, hat & sunglasses since you'll be at the park for a couple hours. The vendors are all spread out in Elk Grove Park so there's an ample amount of walking to experience all that there was to offer at the GPF. My friend and I got there close to opening on Sunday morning which is the last day. We did hit a bit of traffic, however, traffic was moving and we weren't stuck on the street for more than 5 minutes. If you go early, you'll find good paved parking. If you go later, you'll be parking in the unpaved areas. Parking was $10 and it is all day or you can chance it and park in the neighborhoods. I was most excited to see the pumpkin regatta but we didn't get to see it because I think they started rowing the pumpkin boats slightly before 12 pm (12 pm was scheduled time). I did see them carving the pumpkins when we arrived at 10 am. There's plenty of photo ops for little kids and adults in the pumpkin village and there was also a scarecrow contest. Many of the vendors give out useable freebies which can be used during the festival or later on. There were also other small businesses that had their own booths such as arts & crafts, trinkets, hand made soaps & bath bombs etc. Plenty of things to do for the whole family of all ages. Just a note, there are 2 different events for Saturday and Sunday. The pumpkin weigh-in occurs on Saturday along with some other fruits & veggies weigh-ins. Sunday is the pumpkin regatta and the big splash after the regatta. There are also different events at the main stage and smaller stages too. Next year, I'm coming on Saturday to watch the pumpkin weigh-in. The winners for the pumpkin weigh-in were present on Sunday with their awards, and there was a final standing for all participants.

I ran the 5K back in 2018, and the 5K Run4Independence for 2024. Elk Grove Food Bank is still one of the nonprofit charitable organizations supported, but also for 2024 was Al-Misbaah, put on by Laguna Sunrise Rotary Club. Packet Pickup was held at Fleet Feet Elk Grove (Elk Grove Blvd) from 10am-6pm on July 3rd only, you could get either a cotton shirt or technical shirt (upcharge) with registration. Bibs chipped for timing, pins provided and the only swag was some coupons for free Petite Patty Sundaes at Leatherby's. Race-day pickup started at 6:30AM. I overheard that road closures would start as early at 6:45AM. We were suggested to arrive at least 45 minutes early to allow for parking. The race started/ended at District56/Elk Grove Aquatics Center, off of Big Horn. To beat the Independence Day heat, race start times were moved up half an hour, with the kid's 1/4-mile and 1/2-mile runs going first around 7:30AM. The 5K and 10K runners started together at 8:05AM, with some signage to attempt lining up by pace. However, most people were staying in the shade until it was time to line up. Before the race started, they had the national anthem and even a Zumba demo to pump people up, and someone from KCRA3 was the emcee. Some poles to avoid in the parking lot at the beginning of the course, but marked with cones and course monitors (volunteers and EGPD) were good. Mile markers were A-frames. The course took us mostly through the Elk Grove Auto Mall, which unfortunately did not offer very much shade at that time of morning, and a frontage road parallel to Highway 99. For the 5K course, there was one aid/water station. At the 5K/10K course split/fork, it was verbal (I don't remember if there was signage too) to let runners know that 5Kers turned right and 10Kers proceeded straight (was not exactly a double loop of the 5K). I got a unisex t-shirt and an impressive coaster-sized color finisher medal. Post-race had bananas and mandarins, ice cold water bottles, a free photo booth (@photobooth.fairy), and other vendors/sponsors such as Your Home Assistant, In-Shape Family Fitness, The Park at Laguna Springs, and I also saw free samples of LMNT hydration packets, spin wheels for freebies like stress balls, fans, water bottles, protein/granola bars, stickers, American flags, etc. Other promoted races were Running of the Elk, Urban Cow, Apple Hill, and Running with the Cops. I didn't see if there were porta-potties, but there was only one out of two functioning stalls in the women's restroom near the District56 mural. Not sure if the Cafe or other buildings were unlocked/open for public restroom use as well. Parking did have traffic directors as well as a food truck (Balance Me Out mobile coffee trailer), and the Rotary Club was making pancakes too. Race results were available same-day via Athlinks. I did not check if there were also official race photos along the course.

Bourbon, Cigars & a Cozy Lounge at Sky River Casino!…read more The Humidor at Sky River Casino in nearby Elk Grove is the first and only dedicated bourbon and cigar lounge in the Sacramento regional casino market. Service: Decent, friendly, and informative. The staff was happy to explain the different drinks and cigar options. Rare Pours: They have 100+ whiskey selections from around the world, including hard-to-find and allocated bottles like Pappy Van Winkle. DRINKS I recommend: * Espresso Martini: A classic espresso martini served in a stemmed coupe glass with a nice foamy crema top. * Yellowstone from the Smoke Box: WhistlePig 6yr, Demerara simple, orange, and Angostura bitters. * Gotham from the Smoke Box: Angel's Envy, Carpano Antica, orange, and Angostura bitters. CIGARS: The cigar room has more than 168 selections. If you like sweeter, aromatic cigars, I'd recommend these popular Drew Estate options: * Lava Toro Latte: Mild-to-medium bodied and box-pressed. It tastes like a premium coffeehouse drink, with creamy mocha, espresso, vanilla, and caramel notes. Smooth and buttery. * Deadwood Sweet Jane: Mellow-to-medium bodied with a strong hit of sugar and vanilla bean sweetness. If you're a regular, you can even request a locker to store your cigar and liquor collection. Seating & Ambience: Big, comfy sofas and a dimly lit, relaxed atmosphere. It's a nice spot to sit back, have a drink, and enjoy a cigar. One downside: The smoke smell definitely lingers throughout the lounge. They do have a specialized air-control and filtration system designed to keep the space comfortable, but you can still smell the smoke pretty much everywhere. Overall, a cool spot if you're into bourbon and cigars or just want a more laid-back lounge experience at Sky River Casino.

One child was so excited she almost fell over. Her water bottle fell but she was safe. We then visited the animals and learned about all the amazing things the farm does, which was both fun and educational. After the tour, the kids enjoyed time on the playground and had snacks. There were also shops and places to eat, which was great for families and chaperones. The bathrooms are port-a-potties. They do have hand washing stations. The inventory is one of the largest I have ever seen and they have several showrooms and a ton more bikes that arent even on the floor yet. They even have their showrooms organized by bike category. Their prices are extremely reasonable but the customer service is really what sets them apart. While there are times they are running around like crazy trying to sell bikes and can't take a ton of time to chat or take on another customer, they are always super friendly and will just have a friendly chat when they have the time, even when they know I am just there for service. Not often you run into salespeople that will just take some time to chat when they know you aren't buying anything. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone whether it is for parts, service, or for a new toy!! I live quite a ways away and it is always worth it. You guys are the best!
