Took our dog to be spayed. 3 days later, while sitting on the floor, her sutures failed and she had blood all over the floor beneath her. The office was closed so we were told to drive to the Janesville emergency vet. Over the course of the 30 minute drive all of our dog's "insides" came out of the incision. She was literally gutted alive while our 6 year old daughter was in the vehicle. We ultimately lost our dog that evening- an event the emergency vet states is "rare". The dr that performed the surgery called the next day, and asked my wife if we stepped on our dog while basically stating he did nothing wrong. The entire incident was tragic and awful but we believed it was a "fluke"- something that was rare but could happen, we guessed- and we left it alone- we just wanted to emotionally heal and focus on ensuring our daughter was ok after everything. Fast forward several months later- another owner has the exact same thing happen to her dog after being sprayed by the SAME Dr at this clinic. 3 days after being spayed, while laying on the couch- her sutures failed also- and the rest of their story, unfortunately, is the same as ours. We tried to speak with the "Head Vet" at the clinic with regards to our concerns- he refuses to call back. He spoke with the owner of the 2nd dog this happened to and essentially told them "good luck proving we did anything wrong." Their stance is that because this dr has done many surgeries he couldn't possibly have made mistakes. They will not even consider there is a problem, much less even call us back to discuss our concerns. Go somewhere else- please- this was the most horrific thing we have ever experienced. We know it has happened to at least 2 dogs- We do not currently know if there are others out there as well thinking it was something "rare" and not saying anything. We've pulled all of our pets from this clinic. At this point we will be seeking further assistance in this matter but for the immediate time- please, go elsewhere. read more

I had my wife bring my dog to the elkhorn vet clinic because he was breathing very strangely and losing weight very rapidly and basically falling apart, the male vet tech there not only said my dog was healthy and normal he re-assured my wife that nothing was wrong. 8 days later my dog was still losing weight and now hardly breathing so we brought the dog back and a female vet saw him and immediately said this wasn't good and 20 minutes later she hey said the best option would be to put him down. Then they send in what seems like a brand new hire to recieve payment before they can even put him down, maybe 5 minutes to say goodbye and rolled him out the back door 5 minutes after that. They went above and beyond so much that the male vet tech went into my wife's private information and decided to message her and ask her out on dates. So maybe that's why he missed all those signs our dog was showing when he saw him, prolly looking at something other than the dog. I will be posting the 2 diagnosis from each vet as well for you all to see and how drastically different they are as well as the messages from this male vet trying to get dates while at work. I've been using this veterinary clinic as well as a few others for years. All the employees there are extremely friendly, very knowledgeable and professional! I have never had a negative issue here. Their clinic is always cleaned, well staffed and you never have to wait more than a few minutes to see your pets doctor. Recently one of my cats had total kidney failure and could not even stand. After several test and an overnight stay they miraculously saved my kitties life! Seriously, my cat was near her end and they saved her life! This is one of the biggest veterinarian clinics around and they will see almost any animal from fireman most to small pets. I highly recommend Elkhorn veterinary clinic! read more

After meeting several veterinarians, we chose this clinic and Dr. Korosec to do CCL surgery on our dog. He took the time to explain everything to us and we felt very confdent with him. Surgery went great as did the recovery process. No complications. The clinic manager, Sarah, communicated with us prior to the surgery via email and phone. She was very knowledgeable and experienced with the procedure. The staff is friendly and helpful. The cost for the surgery was all-inclusive and reasonable. We had to drive almost an hour and a half each way to get there but it was well worth it. read more

This is THE BEST veterinary clinic I have dealt with over the course of 20 years and 3 different states! The office staff is professional and friendly (and that's hard to come by nowadays). I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Slater who came out to our farm to examine my lame horse. She and her assistant, Scott, were careful and thorough and did a great job. Their equipment was state-of-the-art and they didn't rush through any test. I received a printed follow-up report afterwards and even a phone call from Dr. Slater a few days later, checking up on Lucky. I am looking forward to working with them and will definitely bring my dog in for anything she needs. (And for the people who complain about cost, I am just the opposite; it's very reasonable compared to other vet charges I have seen.) read more

I went here today and had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Tucker. She was very friendly, thorough, and answered all of my questions. I don't take my cat to the vet much, he's always been very heathy. But he's been having diarrhea for over a month and that was enough to have him checked out. $165 for bloodwork!? $50 for urine sample?! $25 to "clean ears". I didn't ask for that, and they admitted that he was not happy so they couldn't do much. I walked out the door $380 poorer than I was walking in. I'm just shocked about the price. I don't expect anything for free, but reasonable, yes! Don't know if I can return, I'm not sure I'll be able to afford it. read more

Dr. Preston is always excellent with all my dogs when I come in. I usually request her or Dr. Tucker. They know my dogs and always listen to my concerns and questions. Feel totally comfortable with all the docs and staff at Elkhorn Vet Clinic. Like that they usually have someone on emergency call also. Really like this place! read more

I recently had the chance to bring my son's cub scout den here for a tour, and Sara handled the group of (sometimes wild) boys like an expert. The Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic was absolutely awesome!!!! Very professional, clean, and modern looking facility. Dr. Korosec was very professional, articulate and compassionate when dealing with my pets blown out knee joint. He also provided me his personal cell phone number in case I needed assistance over the weekends and closed periods. I live at least a 25 minute drive from Waukesha, WI to the Elkhorn, WI clinic. But by far this clinic is worth the drive. it definitely outclasses any of the veterinary services in my immediate area. I will transfer all my vet needs to their clinic from now on. read more

We have had nothing but great experiences here. Especially touching was when our vet came out of surgery to put our cat of 10 years down after succumbing to cancer. We'd only brought our crazy looking cat to the clinic three weeks earlier and everyone there fell in love with her. The doc and staff couldn't have been better. My family and I were staying at our lakehouse in Elkhorn and realized our 13 year shih tzu needed immediate medical evaluation. Our pouch had been having some difficulty in the digestion area and we knew surgery would be imminent but we had chosen to wait until our return home to CA to seek treatment. However, her symptoms worsened so we went to Elkhorn Veterinary Clinic on a Saturday morning and had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Williamson. He was very kind, patient with our questions, evaluated the situation, and calmed us down enough to convince us that we should wait until we get back to CA to have the surgery as she did not need action immediately.
