The boutique is owned and operated by Lakeland Animal Shelter, and all of the profits go toward the operation and endeavors of the animal shelter. So you can feel good knowing that your money is going toward a good cause! You'll find clothing (mostly women's clothing, but there's a section for men's clothing), jewelry, home goods, decorations, antiques, furniture and lots more. The shop is neat and tidy, and everything on the shelves and on the racks looks like it was carefully considered. The people who work here are super friendly and helpful. I stumbled upon the boutique while I was walking around the neighborhood during the farmers market, and the people were standing outside and welcoming people in. I'm glad that I found this store.

I simply came in to make a few returns as I have had to go to a prescription dog food which I pay over $100 for monthly. We were working on positive experiences in new places and with new people...until we walked into this facility... Doc told us that to keep our pup from jumping on us, we should step on his back toes. Ummm... I am open to all sorts of training techniques but stepping on my dogs toes??? Hard pass. Doc was very rough with him the entire visit. Said he needs to be shown who is boss. Again, I can appreciate all sorts of techniques but come on... he was 3 mos old... give him a chance. Doc does have a calm demeanor but his aggressive approach to puppies is enough to turn people away. Moral of the story, everyone here should retire.

I just spoke on the phone to Cedar Dale Pet Resort regarding my concerns over being over charged…read morefor my dogs boarding and grooming. They are making false claims. The woman on the phone said they have a note in their system that they told me the grooming prices vary and gave me cost estimates. This is untrue. They never spoke to me. If they had given me those prices ($600 for grooming) I would not have approved those charges. In fact they never spoke to me on the phone. All communication was done in writing via email. I have also attached the invoice I was given as an estimate and the grooming is listed as $0 - she said I should have known it wasn't free. And went on to try and shame me saying they don't work for free. That $200/ dog is normal for big dogs. Every other time we have boarded our dogs at other facilities they have either included a bath/groom for free or charged a small free, under $60 a dog. The only reason we did not use our normal boarding facility was they were closed for renovations the week we were going to be gone. Cedar Dale Pet Resort apparently feels that charging 50% more than the original written quote without getting authorization is acceptable. Please do not ever use Cedar Dale Pet Resort, they do not honor their price estimates and do not ask permission before performing services that can exceed $500-600.

The owner always comes across as compassionate. The facility is warm and inviting - very nicely appointed. I've used them on multiple occasions and have been very happy with their service. I chose private cremation for my cat. Dropped his remains off in the morning and was able to pick up his ashes later that afternoon. (Note: Prices for cremation are much lower coming directly here than going thru your veterinarian. You eliminate the transportation and up-charge. And I honestly prefer to keep my pets remains with me and not hand them off to an intermediary.) Also, they have a nice selection of urns and pendants (to place a bit of your pets ashes) IF you are interested in that. But you never feel pressured to purchase any of that.
