Went to Jewelry Authority with a 7ct, 10k Citrine ring that weighed a little over 4g. They literally offered $93! $93 whole dollars. 10k is going for maybe $68 per gram. Yet, they offered me $93 for the entire ring! How insulting is that? This seems to be a common thing with their business and I'm truly wondering if they only lowball a certain demographic of people. It's bad business and a bad look! Thankfully, I took to ring to a coin/gold business for scrap and they took the stone out of the ring and gave me almost $200 for it. I sold it for scrap more than JA offered! And I kept the stone! So do yourself a favor and avoid Jewelry Authority if you want to get sell your jewelry. You'll probably get more selling it on your own or scrapping it.

The staff at Michael's was very kind and inspected the ring to find that a prong was bent. They said it would only take around ten days to repair! I decided to go through with the repair, because all other jewelers were claiming that a repair wouldn't be done until February. I was given a small contract to fill out and sign for coverage on the ring and was quoted a $40 fee for repair! This is a GREAT cost considering there repair would be so quick as well. I had an amazing experience with Michael's and will absolutely recommend them to anyone with repair inquiries!

When I traveled home, I went to Alexander Zachary Jewelers upon suggestion of a good friend who purchased her engagement ring there. What a nostalgic experience! Since the platinum setting was custom-designed and hand forged, I was expecting a little pushback or hesitation....not one bit. Since I was a first time customer, they put my info in their system, I informed them what I needed done to the ring, asked to have it "dipped" and was out the door feeling positive and comforted that my jewelry was in great hands. Since I had dropped it off on Thursday, I figured a week would be enough time to work on the ring. They said it would be ready Monday. Friday afternoon I received a call that the ring was done. What a fantastic job they did! The ring looked brand new and the diamond wasn't loose any longer (the most important part).
