Stephanie said she would let them know when the ring was in with no mention of an additional deposit. I mean they had their diamond which had been paid for as collateral for the setting so when SIL asked if he needed to pay and was told no he didn't question it. A few weeks went by and they received a call from Stephanie asking if they wanted her to proceed with having the diamond set and if so they would need to run by and pay for the setting in full. Ok, no biggie but this was not what was originally stated. The ring gets here and it's beautiful. They then chose the guards to go on each side of the engagement ring and had to send one back since it was shaped incorrectly and didn't fit the ring. Again, things happen. Fast forward, my daughter decided to have the rings welded together to make it easier to wear. The bands were not lined up properly which caused the ring to be tighter than was comfortable. Also, the welding was shoddy and they welded over the engraving which wasn't mentioned when they were discussing (sorry but I think this should've been brought up as a possibility). Then, my daughter noticed a diamond missing from one of the bands. This happened the day after she picked up from Elkin Jewelers (she thinMy daughter then decided to take the ring to another company and the jeweler there asked who did the welding (I'm saying welding for lack of correct term). He confirmed the welding had not been done this correctly by being run across all three bands that instead it should've been between each band. They are now correcting all of the little errors to make the ring wearable (comfortably) as well as replacing the lost diamond. Also, they are replacing the engraving so hopefully my daughter will love her ring again. The cost to correct the mistakes will be $355. As we have dealt with Pat and Stephanie at Elkin Jewelers before, I expected better.

Boy were we in for a surprise. JD Salvager now specializes in modern furniture (mid-century especially), carefully selected and professionally restored. The warehouse is packed with amazing pieces. If you ever wanted to furnish and decorate your house like Don Draper's apartment, this is the place to do it. We had been looking for old stereo cabinets for our turntable and record collection and JD Salvager had 2-3 pieces that fit the bill. They also have some that they restored and added Bluetooth connectivity to so you can listen to your Apple Music collection through a vintage cabinet. We spent about 2 hours in the place just admiring the collection. And the prices are more than fair for beautifully restored vintage pieces. Many of the pieces there are yet to be restored so you can have your say in how that is done.
