8.29.26 This was my first time visiting this branch. I came to borrow a book that wasn't available at my local branch, and I was pleasantly surprised by some of the amenities. The first thing that caught my eye was the Dogfish Café vending machine to the left when you enter the library. I thought this was genius! If patrons are studying or spending a significant amount of time at the library, they're likely to get hungry and need a quick snack. The library also appears to have a study room and plenty of computers available in the main area, which is convenient for students and anyone who needs a place to work. The children's area was colorful and inviting, with fun window-pane decorations and an aquarium that I'm sure kids enjoy. This branch is a little farther from me than my local branch, so I probably won't visit regularly. However, I would definitely return if I'm looking for a particular book that isn't available at my usual branch. read more

Wonderful library that serves people of all ages, especially kids. I got 2 lovely craftwork that were made by talented kids for the events organized by the library :) Walking into the library gave me a great vibe. I instantly loved the bright and spacious space. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, got me my new library card with huge smiles. One glance at the bulletin board got me excited as they have so many events lined up - all organized by the dedicated staff. This library is part of the Howard Library network and has a great set of books. Both their website and app are user-friendly to browse, hold and check out books. I'd certainly be frequenting it for getting some work done or quiet reading :) read more

The Elkridge Library is Amazing! Its is beautiful on the outside and inside. They offer an extensive collection of books, activities for children, teen, adults and seniors. I have enjoyed the All Together Program with my infant. The staff are friendly and provide assistance with anything you need. You can also print for free and it's hassle free. This was my neighborhood library but even thought it's not anymore, I still love coming here. read more

I absolutely love Elkridge Library! They always have a variety of events going on for all ages, the librarians are helpful and so sweet, and the space is calming and engaging simultaneously. I am a little biased in my love for Elkridge Library (and all Howard County Libraries) as I used to volunteer here in my teen days. Although those are long behind me, and some of the staff I used to work with are long gone as well, the vibes are still just as great and the current staff are amazing. I love bringing my kids here for their children's events, and I love attending their adult art classes, or finding a new romance book to read the night away, or attending a DIY class to learn a new skill. I highly recommend getting a library card to make the most of your time here. It's more than just books! read more

Great library! LOVE the DIY rental options for equipment and tools from hardwear to baking. Well staffed, good programs and a 50+ center for senior enrichment. What's not to love? Study rooms are by appointment (yeaaah!) and there's always something going on. read more

Overall this is a beautiful library filled with natural light, classes for all ages, kind employees, clean study rooms, great book selection, and excellent things for kids. We are obsessed with this library. I have a 2 year old and we've been going weekly since he was born. For toddlers, there are two bubble walls, excellent children's programming, a number scavenger hunt that changes monthly, a clean and nice selection of children's toys, and outdoor area with chalk. We love that we can reserve books and they'll be in a waiting for us when we get there. We also love that they pull out different book categories to highlight on displays often. We find that there is a diverse selection of inclusive books. They listened to feedback when we noticed something not inclusive. I do wish there were more children's instructors of color. read more

There's something to be said when a library is full of people of all ages on a Sunday. TBH, it has a decent amount of ppl period on a daily. The cat is definitely out the bag. It has everything one could ask for and didn't know you needed. The computer stations are plentiful and have the best chairs made for sitting for an extended period of time. They have a discreet wave width wise which helps with the tail bone and a slight dip in the front for leg comfort. The seat it self is lightly padded - looking at it, you think you'd be uncomfortable, but no, they're wildly comfy. Walking out I always see a book or two for my next read. They also have online options too. Just hands down one of the best libraries. read more

Being new in the area I was looking for a great library and this location is it. Lots of books and great customer service staff. They have a DIY Education Center that allows you to borrow power tools, sewing machines etc. very quiet. I recommend this branch. read more

I love frequenting the Elkridge Library because the staff is very knowledgeable and always willing to go above and beyond to help and if they cannot help you specifically they will get someone who can. I was at the library a couple of weeks ago and needed help while using one of the computers. Subsequently, I approached a staff member Eben and told him how I needed help with retrieving some personal documents from a work App so that I could scan and attach them to an email and print. Moreover, Eben was not only happy to assist me but knew exactly what to do. He was patient as I searched for my information and when I encountered difficulties getting the information, he figured out another solution to retrieve it. This ended up being a lengthy process for me retrieve all my documents and attach to an email as well as print. Likewise, Eben was also helping other patrons. He would check on me periodically to ensure I was making progress. In the same way, when I faced difficulty trying to print/attach my information, Eben was determined to resolve the problem. Lastly, I was able to retrieve all of my pertinent information to print and email with the diligent help of this staff member, Eben. Additionally, I was so appreciative of his help that I wanted to write a review about him. This is one of the many reasons I love visiting the Elkridge Branch Library because the staff is so knowledgeable and always happy to help! read more

Lots of books and music! Welcoming space with vending machines if you need a snack. Plenty of parking and electric vehicle charging station available if needed. There are small study rooms which you can book on a first come basis. The rooms are quiet and offer space where you can work. Free WiFi if needed. Staff are helpful and responsive. read more

Very nice quaint little library in Elkridge. It's shockingly crowded most afternoons. Lots of kids doing homework, college students studying & older folks on computers. There is a senior center attached to this place. Seems like the hip place to be cause they have a calendar with loads of activities & events. Parking is plentiful. Bathrooms are clean but small. Lots of windows for natural light & lots of seating. Seem to have a large selection of newer books and CDs etc... They also have that shared loan system with other Howard county libraries so in theory you're set on books. They have a cute toddler/ baby reading nook with a floor mat. Only problem is the librarians don't really enforce the rules e.g. quiet, no eating @ computer & only 2 hrs @ computer station. read more

I signed up for a Teen Trivia kahoot from there classes,Waited a half hour for a link to go to it.Never got a link ,I called the library and was put on hold for 15 minutes and still waiting.If your signing up for the classes do not sign up for the Teen Trivia. read more
