It's a great spot for small events (less than 50 people). Acoustics are poor due to the high ceiling, so I recommend a sound system setup with multiple portable speakers so no one misses anything shared by the host or guest speakers. The meal was delicious. I had mushroom pasta Alfredo, but other selections included grilled salmon & breaded chicken breast. Each were nicely presented & flavorful. Beverages were available at a station only, but the room was so tightly packed with tables & chairs that movement was limited so I went thirsty. The servers weren't available to assist. Unfortunately, the lunch wasn't served by table; so guests sat with their hot meals cooling rapidly while one type of entree was served at a time. This is very bad etiquette & leave the guests feeling uncomfortable, especially with cold food when everyone is finally served. Food service was delayed long past the end of the speaker's program, so most people left before dessert was served. In fact, many people were unable to stay for the weird entree service & missed it. Whatta waste since the luncheon was hosted by a nonprofit. View is exceptional, but table service needs a skilled event manager who can 'read the room' & prompt the Chef and servers to provide the main course in a more timely way. Hopefully, the nonprofit received a substantial discount for this poorly managed meal.

A lot of storage for clothes and having a microwave and fridge helps. The main disappointment was the wifi, or lack there of. The signal was pretty weak anywhere on campus, so streaming anything is out of the question. Doom scrolling was halfway decent. There must be something blocking cell service b/c several times, I couldn't get a signal while outside inputting an address into navigation (maybe that's standard for a Navy base?)

The rooms have a fantastic price compared to the local area and are rally nice compared to other Navy lodges. It is located just off the freeway and has easy access to downtown, Fisherman's ward, and the aquarium (via car bike or walk). The walk (70 minutes or so) will take you a bit but if you have time and are up for the exercise, we enjoy it! The Trident room is in the basement and parking is available on the grounds restricted during the week to certain lots as parking is needed for students and faculty.

The venue itself has so much coastal charm already that you don't feel overwhelmed with needing to infuse a lot of personality through decor. At the same time, it can still be transformed with florals and any additional decor elements. It was truly the best of both worlds. Our venue provided coordinator Alyssa was fantastic to work with! She answered so many of our questions and was always quick to respond over email. The catering provided by the venue was phenomenal and all of our guests raved about the food. We went with the New York steak and tarragon crusted salmon as our entrees and they were even better than we remembered at our tasting. Since we had a small guest count we even got to add on a slew of extra desserts to reach our food and beverage minimum and additional decor/rental items which was great because it felt like every dollar went towards something. They were even accommodating to our specific signature cocktail requests which were off-menu and our specific NA beer requests. Everything the day of the wedding went smoothly and without a hitch. We cannot recommend The Perry House enough to anyone looking for a charming, Monterey wedding.

Biggest complaint there is the slow play. Bayonet we played the round 5:15 mins and Black Horse we played that round 5:30 mins. We were 55 mins behind pace of play when we got to hole 18 and had to wait on the tee box. We waited on average 10mins on each tee boxes and No Marshalls to be seen on either days. We called the club house when we played Black Horse on hole 5. They never showed up. Would I recommend these courses to play? Yes, but get an early tee time.

Pro shop staff were great and helpful, paid $25 less than what I was expecting which was great. Let me start by saying this. When you come to a place like this golf course, as soon as you pay grab your cart and bag etc and immediately go see the starter. Check in with them. Our starter, an older gentleman seen we were about 90 minutes early to our tee time. We went to the range etc and upon just putting, he seen us and said we could go right now if we were ready which was almost 40 minutes ahead of schedule. He gave us some pointers etc on the course which helped a ton. The course had our 4 some completed in 3.5 hours of play. The course was in unbelievable shape and the greens were as hard as they get next to probably a US Open. What a great challenge and can't wait to come back here again.

When registration emails are sent out in early January, don't hesitate to purchase your tickets to secure your credentials. It isn't inexpensive, as tickets for the 2026 event are $1,600 per person. Miss that window, and you may find yourself on a waitlist. If you're fortunate enough to obtain tickets, you'll have the option of receiving e-tickets. I passed on that and opted to have my credentials mailed instead. They arrive in a beautifully presented Quail box complete with an entry wristlet and parking pass, making for a wonderful keepsake from the event. Next, choose an outfit that's both classy and comfortable, slip on sensible shoes, grab your favorite luxury handbag, and you're off to The Quail! The last couple of years we've attended, the weather had been absolutely perfect. That said, mornings can be cool, so pack a light sweater and perhaps a hat. Think of it as an elegant garden party. You'll spend most of the day walking across grass and paved pathways, so stiletto heels aren't the best choice, unless you're determined to be uncomfortable while aerating the golf course. Pro Tip: Arrive early. This is, after all, Monterey Car Week. Tens of thousands of enthusiasts and extraordinary automobiles from around the world descend upon the Monterey Peninsula during the week, creating traffic that local roads were never designed to handle. Giving yourself extra time will minimize stress and maximize your enjoyment once you're inside. Since we weren't displaying a car, our credentials included general parking. However, driving a Ferrari apparently comes with a few unofficial perks. As we entered the lot, the parking attendant waved us over and directed us to park alongside a collection of other supercars surrounding a grassy knoll. Once inside, procure your glass of champagne and don't forget to snap a photo in front of the iconic Quail monument sign featuring the event organizers, The Peninsula Signature Events. As we wandered through the beautifully manicured grounds, admiring the marque displays, we naturally made our first stop at the oyster stand. What better way to begin the day than with champagne and freshly shucked oysters? Scattered throughout the venue are numerous gourmet food pavilions serving an incredible variety of cuisines, accompanied by equally impressive wines, spirits, and cocktails. My advice? Don't stop at the very first pavilion you encounter. With so many outstanding options available, you'll want to pace yourself. Study the event map beforehand, note the vendors that interest you most, and plan your culinary adventure accordingly. The Quail is also one of our favorite places to reconnect with friends, both fellow racers and automotive enthusiasts. It's not uncommon to find yourself mingling with motorsport executives and industry leaders while discovering the latest innovations in the automotive world. Two years ago, we had the pleasure of meeting Christian von Koenigsegg, founder of Koenigsegg Automotive AB. This past year, we met David Lee, whose legendary Ferrari collection includes the famous "ketchup, mustard, and relish" trio. If you know, you know. Monterey Car Week also features several world-class collector car auctions. At The Quail, Broad Arrow Auctions showcases approximately 175 of the world's most desirable collector cars. Even if you're not in the market to buy, browsing the consignments is an attraction all on its own. I hope everyone has the opportunity to experience The Quail at least once. It certainly helps if you love exceptional food, fine champagne, remarkable automobiles, and unforgettable experiences--which, fortunately for us, we absolutely do.

I sat out there with a glass of wine and my book for a bit for a little quiet time. There is a firepit just around the corner from Room 101 so that was nice to sit at while enjoying a little nightcap. Apparently, they will give you a s'mores kit... I did not partake on this trip. To be frank, I was too lazy to walk to the front (a whole 2 minutes) to go up to the desk to ask. But next time... I fully plan to get a s'mores kit. haha! Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bed, sheets and bedding were very comfortable and I slept great. This is unusual for me as I don't normally sleep very well in 'strange' beds. We only ate at Covey Grill once and it was very good. The convenience of having a nice restaurant on property is a major plus.

Wow! Our wedding was at Stonepine Estate and it was an incredible weekend. The venue is so unique…read morefor California and it truly feels like you are transported to Italy. Each space is so well thought out, detailed, and beautiful. We loved the charming Italian feel of the Chateau and the Western contrast of the Double H Ranch. We incorporated both into our wedding day and our guests were continuously wow-d as they moved through the spaces. The venue also needs very minimal decorations for a wedding since it is so grand. We stayed on-site in the Chateau which was so amazing. The grounds are beautiful and it was fun to use the pool and enjoy the many available spaces over our three days there (and the incredible breakfasts!). Stonepine has an amazing team. Oceanne and Ari helped us navigate every detail and gave so much care into the planning of our day. Nathan and Julie were excellent hosts in the Chateau and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The wedding truly could not have been a more beautiful or special day.
