I wanted to like this place.. really I did! lol…read more The people were nice, the atmosphere was quiet. I was feeling very confident about my choice to give this salon a chance. However my cut and style was a disaster. The cut was all wrong and not what I wanted at all. The styling was worse, as she used gel and mouse to do my twistout, and also did the twists in a weird way. When I two strand twist I just take the two sections and twist, and finger coil the end. Apparently they start with a braid and then go to two strand twisting, like you would if you were getting Senegalese twists installed. I never saw that method before. If that wasn't enough, I told her I wanted to take the twists down and she didn't help me. I was sitting in the chair and untwisting my own hair, which I thought was really odd and not cool. Her assistant then came over and helped, saying that she was a professional and wouldn't leave me to untwist my own hair, even though she had just painted her nails. I then asked for a pic to try and get some volume but she didn't have one. I usually carry one but I switched bags that day lol. She had to take one out of a package (she sells hair supplies in the salon) for me to use. Other small but random issues... I was asked by her assistant if I wanted anything to drink, and that they had beverages for sale. She started running down things, but when she got to water, I thought they would just bring me a cup of eau de tap.. no, they brought me bottled water and said it was a dollar?!? Really?? smh. Back to my styling... I definitely voiced my dislike of my styling because I don't use gel to do my twist outs so my hair is all flat and crunchy. She was like I'm sorry I'll use a cream next time, but very off handedly like "oh well, sucks to be you!" kinda thing. She was more concerned with leaving and going to the city for the night than my hair I felt. She asked me more questions about the type of part I wanted done for the twists than the products she would use. It was an all over the place kind of appointment. I'll never go back. I am going to Hair Rules today to get another cut to try and even out my fro. I learned a very expensive lesson. Go to who you trust, don't be lazy and say you don't feel like going to Manhattan... Not to say that there isn't a stylist for me in Queens but I'm a little too nervous to experiment again. It will take me months to get my fro back to where it was before that dreadful day, so it's a little disappointing. It will grow back, but just sucks that I may have to get a tapered cut to repair the terrible cut I got! My recommendation, as if it isn't clear at this point, would be to not go here for your natural hair needs.

After speaking with her via facetime ($40 pd consult) Which I was very flexible she called me back about an hour after the appt and I still didn't mind. She informed me of a $2050 package (hybrid install k-tips i-tips/ wash and set and removal) and her showing me the different hair textures via Facetime. She explained that a $250.00 deposit was required for the package and so later that afternoon: I instead Zelled her $300 (so as to lower the remaining balance amount, which we agreed would be paid on the install day that was TBD) She explained to me that she doesn't color the customers hair only color matches the extensions. Therefore, because I wanted a Balayage on my hair we agreed that I would reach out to her once I dyed my hair elsewhere so that she can then do the extension color matching.. I then sent her a picture of my new hair color and she stated that she would get started on the hair matching.. Therefore, I didn't think there would be any further discussion on the hair topic other than setting a date for the install, once she also confirmed that she had color matched the itip extensions.. So I reach out to her three days after to confirm whether she had an idea as to when the hair would be ready and reiterating the fact that I needed assurance that she could match the extensions exactly to my hair color and if not that I didn't mind taking the extensions to my colorist so that she can color them) She stated that the extensions would be $400.00 more and she confirmed that she (had not dyed them and I was glad because the sample of haircoloring that she showed me on her website was not my style nor did she have any example close to a Balayage).. and that she was open to this option. I later reached out to my colorist and after discussing the charge with her I decided it was best that I not proceed with neither job... I sent her a text informing her that I didn't want to proceed with her service any longer and therefore requested my deposit back. She explained that she would get the $300 sent back to me the next day.. I am still waiting.. Since then she has not replied to my text messages nor phone calls. She is truly speaking to her integrity, because if she had some form of integrity she would have retuned my deposit immediately because she has seen that I even had the trust to not send her $250 but $300 and via Zelle.. She is speaking to her lack of professionalism and integrity and for a so-called stylist that has services ranging up to $1,000 per install it looks like her keeping my money is personal at this moment.

They cut me up. I asked for wax and she waxed then threaded. Threading is always painful and I was hoping to avoid that, but she just started going. After the service, I did feel some stinging but thought that to be normal. Stinging after a wax isn't out of the ordinary. A day later I noticed the scars on my skin. I got the service on Sunday and I'm writing this on Tuesday. Some of the scarring has gone away but I shouldn't have been cut up in the first place. I'm never returning.

I sporadically get my brows threaded because I think it's inhumane (FYI I also think plucking is a little cruel too) but lasts a really long time. They are simply furnished like most threading places. I have been growing out my brows. So I told her that I wanted a nice arch and she went to work trimming, threading and shaping my brows. When she was done my brow area was on fire but looked really good. I will definitely be back in the name of vanity and convenience but not pleasure lol.
