I'd forgotten about this Sephora as it's sort of hidden inside JC Penney. During the weekday it was super quiet. There appear to be associates only in fragrance but I don't mind because I'm here for samplessss. My three. However, this branch doesn't allow three so I took my time and selected one. The lady that attended to me was nice and so too the other staff member I saw. I've never been here during their busy time so I don't know what the temperature is like at those times. Overall, not as busy and energetic as I'm accustomed to experiencing with Sephoras. It's like they took on the persona of auntie JC Penney. It was a good experience though. The End.

Beauty can enhance one's confidence as well as the perception for image. The image this Sephora projects is non-existent and invisible for customer service skills. It was an impulse purchase for light purple eyeshadow to add to my selection of eyeshadow colors. However, I did not know what brand name or shade of purple works best for my skin tone as I was hoping for a Sephora associate suggestion/recommendation but there were no associate available to seek assistance. It was bustling busy with associates giving free makeup trials to sell their products. The security guard outsourced for hire appears disgruntled and fends rude scowl look at customers who enter/exit the premise. After walking the aisles without aim or any cosmetic knowledge I've lost interest altogether and opt to make my way immediately home. This Sephora sits inside Queens Center Mall. When you snag the last one in-store. (update dec 25th: IT WAS ALREADY USED WHEN I GIFTED IT - AVOID THE SAME EMBARRASSMENT. DON'T SHOP HERE)

Wow, this place is complete garbage in terms of Sephora. The staff is nice compared to most Sephoras, but this place makes my skin crawl. I bought a lip balm here a few days ago so I could give it as a gift. The sales associate was really nice and found me the product in-store after I showed him a picture on my phone. He said: "Oh wow, you are lucky this is the last one." Little did I know that the lip balm was already USED. Can you believe that? I AM INCREDULOUS. One of those ratchet "customers" definitely shoved its FILTHY finger in that Korres lip balm then put it back. DO YOU KNOW HOW EMBARRASSING IT IS TO GIVE A GIFT TO SOMEONE - AND IT'S FREAKING USED? Yeah, I seriously hope not, because that turned this into a hella embarrassing Christmas. Check if whatever you are buying is actually closed and brand new. THIS SEPHORA RUINED MY CHRISTMAS. Too many obnoxious customers. The staff seems to try, but they don't stand a chance when they are swarmed by ratchetness. SO, SO DAMN AWFUL. MOST DISGUSTING SEPHORA EVER.

This joint is always jumping, what with being located right smack in the middle of Queens Center Mall and all.

I love the Ridgewood Market!…read more This Sunday was the first time that I attended. It actually took place on Summerfield Street, which is right near my house (so I had no excuse not to attend!). So my local artisans and businesses were represented here! Not only establishments from Ridgewood (Norma's, Rudy's) but there are tons of other cool vendors from all over NYC represented here! MartiniHandmades (from whom I got an awesome terrarium and bracelet), an awesome empanada table, someone serving shrimp and grits! So many local artists, jewelry makers and thrift stores! I know that this market is awesome, because even my boyfriend, who usually does not enjoy these types of things, found several vendors, items and foods that he loved! Score! Everyone was friendly and some vendors even took credit cards! What a great way to get to meet people from your neighborhood and support local artisans! I can't wait to do all of my holiday shopping at Ridgewood Market!

I guess I'll review this since it is on here, but it is really a recurrent event rather than a…read more"place". It actually is a monthly event held at Gottscheer Hall; I stopped by the initial one in April. It is categorized on Yelp as a "flea market" at moment, but that is really a misnomer; while there were a few booths selling used goods it is predominantly an indoor arts & crafts fair, with some booths selling food products to boot. This might be a good place to check if you were buying gifts; the majority of the goods are likely more appealing to women than men from my judgement. One aspect I do appreciate is that the vendor pool seems to display a relatively diverse range of ages, ethnicities, and tastes and the same goes for the crowd perhaps due to advertising that is also locally-focused; it doesn't feel so much like some of the similar craft markets held in other boroughs, but has a less-pretentious, very neighborhoodly Queens vibe. It seems to, consciously or not, embody Ridgewood quite well rather than attempting to replicate an outside aesthetic in this old neighborhood. Hopefully it becomes even more diverse and representative of the neighborhood as the event evolves. The best part is seeing so many people at Gottscheer Hall for a public event during daytime hours, as well as being able to get eggs and other brunchtime foods they don't normally serve.
