Hi i literally just came from there disgusted and annoyed as hell. I came in and instantly long line to the door. I ask a sales associate who already looked unwelcome and bothered like she did not even want me to approach her. I'd forgotten about this Sephora as it's sort of hidden inside JC Penney. During the weekday it was super quiet. There appear to be associates only in fragrance but I don't mind because I'm here for samplessss. My three. However, this branch doesn't allow three so I took my time and selected one. The lady that attended to me was nice and so too the other staff member I saw. I've never been here during their busy time so I don't know what the temperature is like at those times. Wow, this place is complete garbage in terms of Sephora. The staff is nice compared to most Sephoras, but this place makes my skin crawl. I bought a lip balm here a few days ago so I could give it as a gift. The sales associate was really nice and found me the product in-store after I showed him a picture on my phone. He said: "Oh wow, you are lucky this is the last one." Little did I know that the lip balm was already USED. Can you believe that? I AM INCREDULOUS. I placed an order online for same day delivery before the cut-off time which was 5pm. The website stated my order would be delivered by 8pm the same day. Once it was passed 8pm I contacted customer service in regards to my order. The supervisor I spoke with contacted the store and was told that they had not packed my order since the order was placed at 4:30pm mind you it is now almost 9pm. The she was told my order would be ready in 5 minutes but the store was now closing in 15 minutes. When I contacted the store I spoke with a supervisor names Joy which was no help at all. Offered no empathy or resolution, or apology for the situation. So upset at the entire situation. Getting a beauty service done here was all around odd. First, reserving was way too much work. The website wouldn't let me book and not because all the times were reserved. When I called to try to look into the issue, first I was told Could not reserve because they are fully booked, then another person actually looked and reserved the time I wanted. Alrighty. I told myself booking was so weird, I should take my own make up just in case, but I was carrying so much other stuff, I didn't. I arrived for my appointment a few minutes early. They didn't say they don't see my reservation so I thought I was good. No. Weirdest makeup artist ever. Kept reminding me "this is just a 30". Yes I know. Just eyes. I'm not paying for makeup to smear all over a mask. Then no bag hook under the make up table as there was at the two other Sephora's I got the same service at. And oh no don't put your coat and bag on the empty chair. And don't move the chair closer to the mirror. She was so weird and unwelcoming. At the end, there was time and I asked her to clean up my eyebrows. Comb it and fill it in a little. My eyebrows don't need much. I didn't need to tell the other two artists to do it. Make up does not look finished if brows don't look neat. This is logic. She told me eyebrows aren't part of the feature focus for eyes service. I didn't see it written anywhere and I'm not asking to wax or shape. Comb and fill in a little. In the end she did it and it took like 2-3 minutes. In the end, I only liked the makeup with a filter. Thankfully, i am almost never in that area. I'll stick to Manhattan. If this was my first experience, I'd never bother getting make up services done at Sephora again. read more

Before I begin, let me say that I have a few friends who work for Sephora and I myself have worked retail (not for this company). That being said I know how stressful a retail environment can be. This location is usually packed (as is the rest of the mall). Many of the employees here always looked stressed and as though they are obviously being grabbed and pulled at multiple ends from a plethora of people. They wear walkie headsets and I've heard them being called and paged while trying to help me. This doesn't seem to be an easy job, and it doesn't seem to help when so many people rate them solely on their stress. From my personal experience, this is the best Sephora I have been to. Even though it is high volume, whenever I have asked for help and waited patiently, I have received the help I've asked for and had all my questions and concerns addressed. Though the staff has been juggling multiple patrons when helping me on multiple occasions , they've always made some solid recommendations and been very knowledgable. I can remember at least 4 occasions where though the store and staff were swamped, the associate helping me took their time out to test products I inquired about on me, give me some great tips, and very nicely answer any and all questions I've had. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because I have had a few slightly unpleasant interactions here...but in the end there's been more good than not. This location (albeit smaller than stand alone city locations) also has some items I can only find here. For all those complaining about not finding the right foundation, concealer, or powder for your face, try asking for a Sephora Color IQ (Pantone) match. They literally hold a computerized wand to three different places on your face and neck and your color IQ # populates. You can search Sephora's website with your custom number, and every foundation, concealer, and coverup that is perfect for your skin populates. This eliminates the need for asking an associate for help in finding the right shade every time, can get you out of the store quicker, and will help you play with products until you find what's right for you. Don't forget as well that you can always ask for samples and they have a very lenient return policy (that you shouldn't abuse)....I didn't get to VIB Rouge for nothing :) read more

Usually come here for returns. I prefer to buy things online, because there is too much in store, and at least with the online store, I can read the reviews and usually find what I need. I will say that when I come here, there always seems to be a large amount of staff, with workers moving around back and forth. Especially during the holidays, there were a ton of workers on the floor. It's not a particularly large store either, so at the height of the weekend or holidays, with shoppers, it could be a competitive mad house. I actually appreciate no one here was overly aggressive. I don't want to enter a store and be bombarded by five girls asking if I need help when I haven't even had a chance to do a quick perusal. I think it sometimes has the opposite effect and chases customers out. So far, the cashiers are efficient and helpful when processing a return. They don't fight you on it, but ask questions about whether it was defective or used. read more

I have gone too so many Sephora because I'm a huge make The customer service here is AMAZING. Going to Sephora of course you may have to wait a little to get help because it's always super busy but they at least notice if your waiting and just tell you give me a few minutes. I made a return and the sephora employee asked me for my beauty insider card which I found odd because I've made numerous returns and i've never been asked for the card. Clueless employees and lack of stock is one thing but I will not tolerate blatant rudeness and disrespect from the employees here. I came in today looking for the Anastasia Contour Kit. The first employee I asked was clueless and said she didnt know but pointed me to the Anastasia section-ok, fine. When I didn't see it I asked a second SA the same thin black girl with a long fake weave and a septum ring who rudely replied "NO! We don't have THAT" When I asked if they had it at Sephora JCP (spoiler alert they did) she also said "NO!" and sashayed away- any decent employee would of looked it up but not this character. This is quite possibly the most rude Sephora I have ever been to in my life. I went inside the Sephora with the intention of switching my NARS concealer for something that didn't settle into the fine lines underneath my eyes and had higher coverage. The sales associate had the worst attitude in the entire world. (And I'm not hard to please when it comes to customer service, I've worked retail, I know people have long days and are entitled to being annoyed every once in s while) but this girl was beyond reluctant. She tested some concealer underneath my eyes and couldn't get the right shade so I gave up and said I would just stick to to my regular concealer. So I stopped in this Sephora earlier today at the mall because I had to go to Apple. The male clerk who was restocking the perfume section had such a BAD ATTITUDE and only about 2 customers was in the store.... I generally order from Sephora but just wanted to check out some new scents. So they have some new vitkor and Rolf perfumes so I asked him was these new and which fragrance was in a particular box, yes I could of read it but I like the insight sometimes the clerks can give me. This review is for the main store in the mall. If I could give zero stars I would. Another.collosal disappointment. Bad attitude, entitled behavior, lack of product knowledge, poor stock of the most popular trends of the season, zero help to customers who were visibly lost and would have appreciated help. I am not sure where the rule is written where Sephora employees feel the need to be absolutely clueless to obvious colors and rude or seem like they are going out of their way to assist customers. But they sure do it well. In my evaluation of this location I asked multiple employees the same question and got a rainbow collection of answers which were all wrong. The most popular on trends lipstick and shadow colors are continuously out of stock in EVERY brand line. No one seems to think that's odd? Shipments come in twice a week how is this possible? Out of the 8 employees on the floor, 2 behind the register, and the manager on duty not one person informed me of the order online in the store policy. This policy states that if a product is not in the store a Sephora employee can place the order online it delivers in 3 business days and shipping charges are free. Again stellar knowledge Queens Cntr. In the time that I spent in the store in Queens going nowhere I could have hopped an express train to the city at any midtown location got my product and returned back to my home in Queens.
