Tala is a Husky-Samoyed mix, and from the moment we brought her home, it was clear she had been given an amazing foundation. She walks like a dream--both on and off leash--has zero reactivity, and greets every person and animal she encounters with calm friendliness. She's completely potty and crate trained, follows commands effortlessly, and doesn't jump or vocalize unnecessarily. She's also wonderfully affectionate and incredibly food motivated, which makes bonding with her a joy. He was not my dog originally and I was having a hard time managing him. It was so hard to leave him but, such a good decision. It made a huge difference in my relationship with him. Home Away From Home…read more.... Love Dogs Camp has made a big difference with our dog, Pugsley, since we moved to the area 6 years ago. He was rescued from the streets of San Jose at the age of 1. Before moving to Nipomo, we researched and visited many places offering daycare and boarding, but Carolyn at Love Dogs Camp gave us the most confidence. It offers Pugsley a great environment with no kennels, freedom to roam on 5 acres and the ability to socialize with both big and small dogs. Carolyn has a wonderful trainer - Brett - who's very knowledgeable about dog behavior and nutrition and helped Pugsley become less fearful of other dogs. Supervision is a priority and he is never left alone. Carolyn does a great job vetting new dogs and their owners to ensure compatibility with her existing clientele. She also provides healthy home cooked meals for the dogs at least once a day. Whether it's for just a day or a couple of weeks for vacation, we have no concern bringing Pugsley to Love Dogs Camp. It's his home away from home.

My granddaughter worked there a while ago and had no training and expected to get training, but didn't get any. Instead she was left along with the dogs. She wasn't even officially hired and paid in cash. She thought that was nice at first but then realized it was not legal. She said some dogs were out of control and she feared for the safety of the other dogs. The owner says everything right at first but talked down to my granddaughter and disrespected her. This is not a place I support.

This was our 5th generation of a northern breed. We know the dogs can be fantastic if.....trained correctly. We went through two other trainers with Keema, but they failed to get the dog to do anything. When Mike arrived for our first training session, I was bleeding and crying from frustration of just trying to get a lead in Keema. She's a sweet dog but very single minded. We are very clear that it is as it needs to be trained. Within 10 minutes in the presence of Mike, she calmed down, begin to listen and respect us. What he did with our Keema was a miracle! After he left the lesson and behaviors he taught her stuck. Her bad behavior was all but gone. Now each week he makes new strides, that delight us and frankly blow our minds. What he's gotten this malamute to do his beyond wonderful. Look for her and Movies. If you have a dog that you want to be proud of- invest in Mike!

Let me start off by saying, it's TRUE when they say "Sasha is literally a dog whisperer". He absolutely knows what he's doing. Prior to meeting Sasha, my puppy (Karter) was biting everyone that came to my house and peeing all over the place and I was ready to give him away. I google searched "local dog trainers" and came across the Bark website. Of the handful of listed trainers Sasha was the only one to get back to me and when I researched him I noticed he had a TON of positive reviews. So many that I actually joked with him and mentioned that I thought they were all of his friends. LOL Now I understand why. When I spoke with Sasha I expressed my concerns with Karter and he immediately began to give me tips on how to correct some of the behaviors that Karter needed help with and although I didn't actually use any of the tips I appreciated that he did that free of charge. My idea of "dog training" was someone coming to my house a few times a week and training my dog to do everything I needed him to do, so, when Sasha said "most times he only has to come once and the rest can be done over the phone" I was like there's NO WAY this dude knows what he's doing. In my eyes Karter needed 24 hour assistance. When Sasha arrived he immediately got to work. He stayed for a couple hours and it went by pretty fast. He taught me how to implement walking Karter "off leash", teaching Karter discipline during feeding time and basic tips on potty training as well as creating boundaries which would affect how he interacts with guests when they come over. He also brought in his own pets which was nice because it showed me how Karter would respond to other animals. His training style is so simple yet extremely effective when you do what he recommends and that is to be consistent. I had a couple serious life events that took place after he came and I wasn't able to keep up with the training and I could see the difference. I have since gotten back on schedule with Karter and he has learned to use the dog door to go potty and hasn't had any accidents in the house for a few weeks. I can walk with him off leash and he has learned boundaries and space when company is over! All of the things Sasha told me to do worked. When he says get a 15 foot leash get the 15 foot leash. Don't take the easier route just do exactly what he recommends because he knows what he's talking about. This is my first dog and I'm a much happier dog mom because of the service I received from Sasha. I waited to post the review because I wanted to give Karter time to show improvement and make sure I was giving an honest review and honestly... he is the BEST! Worth every penny. I could go on but I'll let you see for yourself! Thanks Sasha and also your lovely wife. You guys are an awesome team!

Not only was my sweet little anxiety ridden dog treated with kindness and love, he also received the best grooming he has ever had in his 9 years. Destiny was the sweetest, most loving person and groomer. I'm always a little anxious when I leave Buster with a groomer because he's so sensitive and anxious I hope he is not being mistreated in any way. But Destiny was the kindest, sweetest groomer I have ever met. I knew he was in good hands. Maddie was also the sweetest person. I recently moved from Florida back to California and I'm so happy that I found this establishment. They are also kind of out in the country in Arroyo Grande and it's a really pretty place. Staying across the street from her shop while on a trip and desperately needed my doddle clipped much shorter. Between burrs, stickers and sand, she was a mess and so was I trying to keep her clean and OK. Dropped in Friday late afternoon and Shalagh came in early the next day to give Sydney, my 3 yr old goofy doddle a much needed bath and haircut. She did a terrific job and besides my dog looking great, she is no longer a magnet for dirt, sand and burrs... we went to 2 different beaches today, and then a trail hike and what a difference.. so easy now with her hair much shorter.. This is a great shop and Shalagh is a skilled dog groomer and a very wonderful person., she gets dogs, big time..
