Went to the salon today with my 2 daughters ages 6yo and 13yo. My 13yo got acrylic nails for the first time. She did a lot of research and pick a pic from the internet with the exact length, shape, and design she wanted. when we got there she showed the owner the pic for about 5 seconds. I could not believe that my daughter's nails look exactly like the picture when we left. The owner is truly an artist. We all got pedicures and manicures. The service was excellent. We had an amazing time. They were so sweet to my 6yo and took time to fix her nails when she messed them up. I work on my feet all day when I left the salon my feet felt amazing. Had a great experience at Ellie's today. It was my first visit to Ellie's and my first visit to any salon post-Covid19. Ellie's has taken all precautions to limit exposure, including masks, sanitizing and limiting only 2 clients in the shop at 1 time. I felt very comfortable. The staff was very pleasant, quick and efficient. My gel manicure and my pedicure turned out amazing. This is my new nail spa! I'm hooked! read more

Wanted to love it here. Ellie does beautiful nails and is extremely talented. I usually get gel polish on top of acrylic but decided to try dip since she did a really good job with the acrylic colors and designs. Nails were beautiful but started popping off within the first week. Went tried again for another full set thinking maybe 2nd times the charm. Again nails came out beautiful but still started popping off within the first few days. The salon prices are not cheap. Both times before tip for a full set and pedicure I paid 130. 130 for barely lasting a week. Both times. Won't be back. read more

So I want to start off by saying I have never written a review for a business and I really didn't want to take it to the internet but since this business BLOCKED my phone number and Instagram I guess I have no choice. I'm going to keep this short but I really wanted a set of acrylic nails I found Ellie Nails' page and thought they did a beautiful job. I called their number and was directed to a texting service. I texted them saying exactly what I wanted and sent a picture to which they responded very short saying "check the prices online and speak with the owner in person for a detailed pricing". So since they suggested coming in to show her the nails I wanted in person I figured they would have time in the near future for me so I responded with "okay do you have availability tomorrow?".... No response (which I understand they are very busy). So I texted again asking if I should call back and they said "sorry we're closed tomorrow" (no "oh we'll have to find another day or this month is booked how abour next month or trying to find me something). That was all they had to say I went back online to see if I could schedule something somehow and apologized to them for being so persistent it's just that I have a wedding that I have to attend and I really love their work. Anyway long story short she blocked me because she didn't like how I called her out on being very rude and ignoring potential clients..... like how are you about to make the only way to book an appointment through dms and texts/calls then not respond AND BLOCK PEOPLE..... it's such a shame. read more

I really wanted to like this place. The pedicure was great, the price was good and they were really nice. But I feel like as for my nails they were just okay. I think this salon is better with gel or dip polish and nail designs, but not regular nail polish which is disappointing. I got a refill with regular white polish and it looks okay. One of my nails you can see brush strokes and I would recommend them for more higher services and designs but as for a basic refill, I don't think I will be coming back. read more

This is a small business run by the daughter and mom. I liked this nail salon as it was close by and they only have two staff so very attentive. I don't know what changed but the last time I went I was rushed and the owner spoke to me as if she was annoyed with even doing my nails. I brought a potential client by and spoke so highly of them but to my surprise I had to swallow my words when they were short with her as well. Maybe they were just having a bad day but remember this is customer service and if it's too much then take a break and come back refreshed. I love this nail salon! I've had some trouble finding a good place and just started going there not too long ago. They do an awesome job and my nails always look great, but the last few times I've tried to go they're closed before the time on the website and the door. The location is great and only a short walk from my house. But if I can't count on them actually being there, then it looks like the search will have to continue. read more

Ellie's used to be my favorite place for nails for the past few years. Unfortunately after today I don't think I'll be going back. The entire appointment was rushed and she seemed very annoyed that I was there, she even cut me a couple times. Towards the end she took a phone call and while she was away from the desk the man took it upon himself to check me out. No cuticle oil, no hand lotion, no finishing treatment for the gel, nothing I was just gently excused. It's disappointing because she does really good work and I liked going there. read more

Ellie is excellent at doing nails. I am super impressed by the fact that she is the only nail technician and able to keep a great flow. She has even stayed late to help me out in a pinch when my niece needed her nails done at the last minute for prom. I have had my nails done but her 4 times and all i can say is her creativity and attention to detail is amazing. Some may think her quickness is her being in a rush but it's not. She's one lone technician and while she tries to give you a personal individualized experience there's always someone waiting to get in her chair because of her sweet personality and great talent. read more

We scheduled an appointment for 3 pedicures. My tech started working on mine while the rest of my party waited. I noticed she was not doing my cuticles and cutting each nail edge. She stabbed me with the corner of the file several times. When she did my calluses I had to ask I she got them all because she spent less than 2 minutes doing it. She literally just poured sugar scrub and rub it once before removing it. Then she spent maybe 2 minutes flat doing what she considered a massage. Let's just say it was more of a putting on lotion than a massage. She then started putting the first clear coat which wasn't even at all. It was noticeable how much was on my actual skin. When she started painting I had to tell her to stop because I still had cuticles not taken care of. All this time the rest of party just waited. When we asked why they were not being taken care of the nail tech said they had double booked. I ended up leaving with partially painted nails and was charged $25 after I complained to the manager. read more

This app is making me give a star! They don't deserve any! This was my very first and last time coming to this salon! The staff is rude and unprofessional! The minute I walked in no one said a word just stared at me! One of the staff is very argumentative and started yelling at me (the customer) about an issue that I had experienced here! wanted to give it no stars but unfortunately that's not an option. just as the other reviews state, ellie does lovely work but is a horrible businesswoman. a ridiculous attitude as though you personally forced her to become a nail tech and taught her how to hate her job. quality of the work is ever varying. i've had short sets that last for about 6 weeks with no broken nails. this last time i got medium length for the first time (i didn't particularly request it and she seemed very reluctant to do it for the base price of $45). i got my nails done on saturday, lost the first one tuesday. lost six by the following saturday. i requested a discount towards my next set as i had never been so disappointed in the quality of the work. the "assistant" told me to speak to the owner when i came in. i asked on wednesday if there were saturday appointments. fully booked. i asked about friday. they're not available. on a wednesday afternoon you have no weekend appointments available? i've texted friday evening and gotten next day appointments. disgusting customer service. you'd rather lose consistent business than fix your own mistake? horrible. won't be back (evidently, as i'm not welcome) and wouldn't recommend to my most hated enemy. spend your money where you're valued and appreciated. read more

Well let me be the first to tell you, THIS SALON IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!! Come one come all! Tell your friends!!! I have recently moved to Elkins Park and was looking online for nail salons nearby and Ellie's popped up. Her website and pics posted on both Yelp and Instagram was what drew me. I made an appointment (she takes walk-ins) and she was immediately responsive. I secured an appointment for my mother and I for manicures and pedicures. I needed an acrylic fill-in, so I thought. When we walked in we were treated like ROYALTY. My mother is elderly, in which they helped her to the pedicure spa chair immediately, helping her with her coat, shoes, stockings, purse, plus!!! Very caring and gentle. The pedicure was so wonderful, mom loved it! Loved the massage chairs, too! Next...nails! The salon features EVERYTHING you'll ever need and want and options I've never heard of. Ellie and I had great "getting-to-know-you" conversation and what I truly loved was the education I received on keeping my nails healthy between appointments, what was better "gel vs. acrylic vs. dipping vs. SNS, for healing broken nails from another bad experience at an unnamed salon. The best part was Ellie showed her greatest talents in her nail DESIGNS!!!! She had everything: wide ranges of polish colors, glitter, stones, beads and best of all, floral 3-D!!!! Yup!!! it was the entire experience that blew my mind. I've had my nails done across this country in many states. But never have I had an awesome experience like this. The salon is clean, serene, peaceful and the seating is very comfortable/relaxing. It was so nice to be acknowledged and have other customers talk to us. No wait, with their beautiful culture at the front door for luck and prosperity. As the woman answered the phone i said ah yay okay just wanted to see if you guys were open. I tried to make an appointment for a wedding 3 weeks in advance, they told me they don't make appointments more than a week in advance. So I called a week in advance and she told me that it was a simple service (manicure & brow wax) to just come in. Called day of service, told me to just come in. I get there 15 minutes later and was told it's a 3 hour wait. Another time I just walked in and was told they don't have time to do an eyebrow wax and to come another day. I went elsewhere. They are listed as open until 7:30. I came in at 6:30 tonight to ask if I can get in for an eyebrow and she told me no, they have their last customer for the day.
