This has quickly become our go to place on Friday evenings where our little biker boy has enough space to go wild with his scooter, as we admire him and hudson river views while sipping on some libations. Slightly overpriced menu, but seating and setup is perfect for people with families. Many many kids around too! Do not come here!!! I repeat, do not! I used to be a regular and would come here every weekend during the summer. Unfortunately, that ship has ended thanks to the "lovely Brooks," who is the current manager. Might I add... she stated she was the owner of this establishment along with the bartender. She is quite unprofessional and does not know how to conduct herself as such. When you work for hospitality you should know how to be hospital. I came here with my lovely family, as I always typically do. I witnessed Ms. Brooke yell at two underage girls who just wanted to play with sand and probably did not see the sign that was inside the restroom as they went directly for the water bin that was placed outside. I then asked for her name and the bartender stated he couldn't simply because she was the owner. She then came from behind and yelled and so I yelled back and stated it's not what you say, but it's how you say it. Learn how to conduct yourself. Never again I step here and I will spread this to all my UWS friends.. Do not waste your time. The food was mediocre and apparently, it's not family friendly. Dishonest bartenders who take their tip if you pay in cash, without telling you, ie stealing. Food is mediocre at best and way overpriced. Basically anyone with a brain doesn't eat here. It's a booze bar for the young twats who populate our senior neighborhood. can't they go back to Podunk. By the way I pay 1500$ for my 2,000 SF rent controlled place-suckers, paying 4K for a studio. The outdoor cafe in the park at 70ths st is far superior with much nicer staff. Ellingtons are just lucky to be in Riverside Park. Riverside Park + Outdoor Cafe + Spring in New York = Immense Happiness. As long as the humidity is at bay, and the sun is not heating the asphalt to temperatures that would make the devil flinch, I cannot think of a more perfect setting to enjoy an artfully crafted individual pizza, a cool glass of lemonade (a bit way too sweet), and a decent selection of draft beer. This is my Riverside Park sunset hang. A great place to hang with your dog, to chat with friends, or to stare into the eyes of your lover as you enjoy your last evening together until your return trip a few weeks from now. Went after work with a few friends, maybe an hour before golden hour. They have an upstairs and downstairs area. My friends and I sat downstairs to be closer to the water. We scanned a QR code to access the menu and ordered from our phones. They called order numbers at the counter and it took awhile for the food to be ready. So long that i went up to ask 3x. My friend who was half an hour late was at our table before the food was ready and I had put in her order before she left her place. The food is expensive for what it is. I ordered chicken tenders and it came with three mildly seasoned pieces, honey mustard that was more mustard than honey on the side. My friend ordered the apple salad. There's an option to add chicken for an additional $8. She opted not to add it. After we received the salad she mumbled that she could have made the same thing it home haha. My other friend ordered a burger which she liked. I think this place did their prices based on the value of the location and being by the water in Riverside Park. You really have to walk through the park to get here. The setting is nice, but not enough to justify the quality of what you're getting at this price. No table service, you have to order from the bar and when your number is called you collect a paper bag. in the food is packed in single use plastic cartons, that - as a senior citizen - I found very difficult to open. I'd rate Ellington in the Park three and a half stars. Came here with a group for some drinks. They handled the rush from our large group pretty well. They had four beers on draft. I opted for the Allagash White. Looked like they had a promo for buckets of Montauk cans going around that was a hit with our group. Atmosphere is awesome. As the name suggests, they're smack dab in the middle of the park which over looks the Hudson River leading to a really nice view of the sunset. There are public, gender separated restrooms below the restaurant; you'll need to go down a couple flights of stairs. read more

What a horrid place. Aside from the ambience, they realllllllllllyyyy don't have it together here. Service was abysmal. It took forever to get menus, even longer to have someone take our order, then when we ordered our drinks and food...they forgot to bring it to us. We got a pitcher of sangria (this is after they sent the original one to a different table) and it was so horribly disgusting I set it right back. In fact, a little while later I ended up ordering drinks at the bar since no one would serve us and I watched the bartender make white sangria, and everything made sense...it's half seltzer...half Yellowtail pinot grigio. SO GROSS. Oh, and the bartender uses his bare hands to put the fruits in the pitcher...this is after handling money. HOW UNSANITARY! I also ordered a mule and apparently they think gin and prosecco consist of a mule...no sir. I had to teach him how to make me one and even then it was barely drinkable. The calamari was decent, that's really all I can say about it. If you bring your own food and drinks I think you're fine here. Don't bother wasting your money. I've had poorly cooked Beyond & Impossible burgers. Even at they're worst they are nothing like the rubbery disc we were served here. - the crispy fish tacos had very little fish and what was there was overly breaded - the "margarita" tasted like some kind of hard lemonade; no resemblance to a margarita This is Manhattan. You can do much better with food from a hot dog cart or other street vendor. Get your river views for free and eat elsewhere. read more

The good first. One of the best settings for an outdoor meal in the city. Gorgeous views, great atmosphere. Also, the staff are very friendly. The less good. At the start of last year they had what I would consider an amazing hamburger. Just delicious. I had it a few times and loved it. Then one day I went with a friend. They got a turkey burger that was raw in the middle (!!) and my burger was burnt on the outside and extremely rare on the inside. I assume they switched to frozen patties, but it was awful. I thought it was an off night. It wasn't. But new year, I figure I'd try again. Not burnt/raw, but not good. Same hockey puck-ish burger, just cooked a little better. Other stuff on the menu is better, but nothing is great. Add to that the absolute insane packaging that feels like an environmental nightmare, the complete lack of vegan options in 2024, and it just feels like a place that is coasting on a great location. read more

I recently worked with Koren to organize an event at Ellington in the Park for the faculty and staff at my school. This was our first in-person event since 2019, and Koren was incredibly attentive to every detail. The staff perfectly timed out the platters for us, so that hot food was out and available once most of the guests arrived. Absolutely love their cheese platter, the sliders, and pigs in a blanket. The street corn was prob the worst l've ever had in my life, soggy and tasteless. it was 8:30pm so I'm certain it was just sitting in water all day. they could at least add a little salt to the water. The cauliflower tempura though was really good. fries were basic. i didn't have a drink but prob should have to make it better. waitress at the bar/order area wasn't really friendly or welcoming and I felt like i was bothering her. Drinking in the park with a riverside view is just the best way to have a beer! How can you not love this? It's kind of a hidden gem way uptown on the west side and buried in Riverside Park off the 103rd street entrance. Walk down and over and you will see it overlooking the river. There is a small bar up top with outside seating offering great views. Walk the stairs down and there is another larger bar below level with both outdoor and some covered seating. Also offers great views of the river and sand volleyball courts. You can also find the bathrooms down here too. Decent beer list on tap and in bottles. Friendly bartenders serving up drinks. I was here last night to run a 5K race and was able to hang out and enjoy a post run beer and some eats. They also have a small menu of food items to choose from. So choice and the best thing about this place is that very few seem to know it's here other than those who live in the area - and no annoying tourists! read more

This is one of my all time favorite happy hour spots in the city. The food is exactly what you would expect - typical bar/pub food that is tasty but not mind blowing by any means. I wouldn't expect gourmet cuisine at a place like this anyway and have never come here for the food. What's special here is the setting: right by the river in the middle of riverside park with an excellent view of the sunset. They have cute string lights and great drinks, I hate the phrase "good vibes" but there is simply no other phrase that describes this place so well. Seating is first come first served, however, so it can definitely be tough to get a table at sunset but so worth it. Also, LOTS of good dogs. read more
