This place was awesome. I took my first ever solo trip for my 21st bday in December, and this place happened to be right across from the hostel I stayed at. The atmosphere was so fun at night, just a chill place to hang out and have some drinks. They let me try sangria for the first time and it was amazing. I was in NY for 6 days, and ended up there every single night because it was so laid back, comfortable, and everyone was so cool :D The regulars are really nice people too. I didn't feel sketched out or unsafe at all. Fantastic place. Also I got free cookies from the owner (or at least I think he was the owner). Sweet man, and gave me some good tourist advice. I will definitely be back to have some sangria the next time I'm in NYC! Absolute highlight of my trip. I came here on a weekday for a working lunch and coffee. The caprese sandwich was okay but the bread was so hard after it was toasted it felt like it was scratching the top of my roof. Didn't end up finishing it with the bread and just opted to eat it as a flatbread. Coffee was good, and the service was friendly. Great local small business! The menu is simple yet delicious. I had the Cuban Sandwich, and it was amazing and not your typical Cuban sandwich. Fresh and flavorful with the added chorizo and Chipotle Aioli sauce. I also had the Cafe Con Leche which was also very good. They have a great variety of flavorful teas, my husband had the Turmeric Ginger tea and loved it. This place is great and we really do (did) like the owner, however, we will not be going back since they do not take this pandemic seriously - your safety is not a concern of theirs. During the height of COVID they were so strict that they checked IDs; at this time the doors and windows are open. The location is one short block from the 106th street entrance to Central Park. I've had their el rancherito wrap, huevos rancheros, and the sicily bagel (part of their breakfast special) - I've enjoyed all of them especially the bagel! Their coffee is spot on as well. This review is from an experience over a month ago before Coronavirus affected our daily coffee habit. We've moved into the neighborhood and were anxious to find our new local coffee spot. We were greeted so warmly by the manager who entertained our toddler while whipping up for me possibly the best almond milk hot chocolate I've ever had.
