She had extremely high blood pressure for which she ended up landing up in the ER.. and asked if she could be given something to control the BP after her discharge.. she was told the medication she was already taking would suffice to help the BP... when really that medication (i later confirmed with her cardiologists office) was only to help with the heart rate irregularities she was experiencing. Her cardiologists office confirmed that the nurse in the ER was wrong. 65 different nurses will come visit you in a matter of 24 hours but none of them know what is going on. It's almost like there is 0 to minimal documentation that is done with fidelity and integrity. When you ask them for something they look at you as if you have 0 right to ask them for anything. It's absolutely disgusting.

Fresh veg is NEVER provided, rather they serve some dead, frozen veg along with a TINY burger in a HUGE bun (white bread, of course), and the only beverages provided other than water have HFCS in them, same as all of the "desserts". It's as if they actually want their patients to be unhealthy. The basic neglect and unacceptable level of "care" is off the charts. When a bed-ridden patient rings the bell and then has to wait TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES for someone to show up it is unacceptable. I find it difficult to believe Ellis has kept its JCAHO accreditation. According to Google they have it, but I cannot fathom why they still do. This place seems to be at least 20 years behind normal standards. Their doctors do not even carry tablets. They seem to rely on "memory" for everything a patient tells them. I have yet to see even ONE "doctor" write down or log anything. Hell, I have never seen ANY medical "professional" log ANYTHING AT ANY TIME. DO NOT EVER allow ANYONE you love to be sent to Ellis Hospital. You will regret it.

To Dr. Elaine Cheon-Lee, patients are just a source of money. She doesn't care about your health…read moreconcerns. Don't ask questions during your annual checkup. If you do she will charge extra. That's what happened to me. After Dr. Cheon-Lee did a quick routine examination, I asked her a question: Is there anything I should know or be aware of about entering menopause? I made it clear I am not interested in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) because of its side effects. I wanted to know if I should consider a bone density test or perhaps taking supplements. The doctor recommended a couple of OTC supplements and then brought up HRT. She started badgering me about trying a cream that she assured me has minimal side effects. I finally gave up and said OK just to get out of there. To my surprise I received a $130 bill for an "office visit". This was in addition to the $188 my insurance company paid for my annual women's health exam. When I reached out to Dr. Cheon-Lee I was told the hormone replacement therapy was not part of annual visit; therefore I was charged for an additional visit. She agreed the bill was unexpected and acknowledged I wasn't informed in advance there would be a charge. This came after I repeatedly told her I wasn't interested in HRT given its side effects for women with a medical history like mine. So CareNet patients, be wary about asking your doctor questions without also asking what it will cost for an answer. If you receive an unexpected charge, don't waste your time reaching out to your doctor or trying to discuss the issue with the management team. No one cares about patient satisfaction. Your concerns will be ignored. I filed a complaint with my insurance company, which said it will keep Dr. Cheon-Lee on its radar. I will pay this bogus bill, so it doesn't affect my credit report. But CareNet has gone downhill as shown by the number of 1-star reviews it now receives. My advice: Skip this place and go somewhere with honest doctors who listen to and care about their patients.

They took our name and my son's blood pressure. We waited 20 minutes more. The P.A. came in and after 10 seconds, said.... We can't help you, go to Albany Medical center. OK this is fine. But then weeks later we received the bill of $1800.00 and that is with insurance folks. $1800.00 to take our blood pressure. YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR MIND... We will not be paying this bill. Riddiculous. Had to kill a couple of hours but I expect some unpredictability at a walk-in clinic, anyway. The staff was friendly & patient with my daughter, and elicited good behavior which was in turn rewarded with some small toys that left her happy instead of distressed at the visit. An especially big shout out to Dr. Michael Ungerland. (Technically, he's a PA... but, in my experience, that frequently translates to "Physician without an Attitude."). He's a champ, and I'd seek him out again. One always hopes not to need medical attention, but it's comforting to have a go-to care facility while traveling.
