After an initial scheduling hiccup that was not the fault of this particular facility -- looking at you, unhelpful telephone "virtual assistant" -- the care itself was great. Had to kill a couple of hours but I expect some unpredictability at a walk-in clinic, anyway. The staff was friendly & patient with my daughter, and elicited good behavior which was in turn rewarded with some small toys that left her happy instead of distressed at the visit. An especially big shout out to Dr. Michael Ungerland. (Technically, he's a PA... but, in my experience, that frequently translates to "Physician without an Attitude."). He's a champ, and I'd seek him out again. One always hopes not to need medical attention, but it's comforting to have a go-to care facility while traveling. read more

Editing to add: I emailed as requested by the response to this review and got no where. WellNow doesn't give a damn about patient care. if I could give a lower rating, I would. I usually go to WellNow clinics for urgent care. Before this experience they have always been kind, caring, and quick in getting me the medical care I need. This time, not so much. I went to WellNow with a terrible poison ivy rash that was on my face, eye lids, hands, etc. At the time my daughter was 4 months old and strictly breastfed and I was struggling with postpartum depression. Feeding her, getting her in and out of her car seat, just existing was physically painful. And she refused to take a bottle during this stressful time. Upon hearing that I was struggling with my mental health the doctor threw up his hands and attributed my symptoms to my mental health and I had to beg for treatment which he did eventually grudgingly give me -- but even that wasn't sufficient to treat the issue and I had to take the prednisone prescription he gave me in conjunction with the other prednisone I had been prescribed when I had previously sought care and devise my own tapering regimen which did finally do the trick. He tried to tell me he couldn't give me more than a certain amount of prednisone but another urgent care doctor back in November when I had the same exact poison ivy response gave me the dosage and the tapering schedule I was asking for. Then, I received a bill months later with a 20% discount. I went to try to pay it today and they are trying to charge me the full amount. I spent 40 minutes on hold and then the representative was unable or uninterested in doing anything to remedy the issue. I am now waiting for a call back from a supervisor. I am deeply upset with the way I have been treated and truly feel that this treatment is due to being a breast feeding mom that struggled with mental health. Stay far, far away from WellNow if you are also a breastfeeding mom. To add insult to injury, I left this same review on Google. The "owner" asked that I email them to resolve the situation. I did, recapped my disappointment and frustration and they sent me a form email asking for my DOB and address demonstrating that if a human being did read my email they have the empathy of a rock. I responded with the requested information to the billing email address and received an automatic reply that the address is not routinely monitored. Main take away: WellNow doesn't give a flying rat's behind about their patients' experiences in any way, shape, or form. read more

My friend had dislocated shoulder and so I called them multiple times to see if they could help and they didn't answer. We get there and there's dead one person there like one client and then one worker. So idk why they couldn't pick up the phone. I ask them if they can help with dislocated shoulder and they're like yes and then I bring in my friend and they bring him in the back and then 2 seconds later they bring him back out and are like oh yeah it looks dislocated and we can't fix dislocated shoulders. WHAT?! Like bro how do you have a job get out of my face. And so my friend is in extreme pain and we have to drive all the way to emergency room. Terrible terrible. read more

This used to be a good urgent care over a year ago. Now it's likely one of the worst in the area. Overly long waits, a shift to virtual medicine with poor reception, inconsistent discharge paperwork, and limited follow-up. As others have noted, you'll be seen faster at an ER than this urgent care. You might even get seen faster at the albany med ER than at this urgent care. My wife had a similar negative experience where she had an adverse reaction to an anitbiotic. She has now called the urgent care four times the following day, spent upwards of 2 hours on hold, and they still cannot figure out how to get her a prescription for a new antibiotic. One set of staff knows what they're doing, other set is lazy and poorly managed. As with any urgent care, expect a 2-4 hour wait on something as simple as a drug screen or PPD test. Also, highly recommend doing your online registration hours before actually going into the office. Otherwise, there will be upward of 5-10 people entering the office and getting seen before you. We were second in line. We were taken back by nurse at 7:15, finally at 8:10 our TeleMed appointment started. They could not get a good connection to Doctor. She could hear us but not see us. We could see her but we could not hear her and she could not see us or hear us. This went on for 10 minutes. We were told sorry we have to reschedule. I cracked open the door to get some air and was told due to patient privacy it needed to be closed. when I asked when the dr was coming in, the dr replied with "when I get there" and continued her conversation with her coworkers. The care at this facility has been consistently good, but the billing is a nightmare. They billed our insurance company incorrectly on two separate occasions (two separate appointments) and then sent bills for services that our insurance is supposed to cover. The first time, we opted to just pay the bill. The second time (yesterday), we received a bill that had scare tactics -- a big red box threatening to send the bill to collections -- even though it was the first bill for this appointment. (And again, our insurance company would have covered this appointment if it had been billed correctly.) I tried calling the billing department twice and was put on hold for a very long time. Is anyone answering the phones? I also emailed the billing department and am waiting to hear back. There are other issues with the bill, as well. The amount due for the appointment was $230, but on the second page of the bill, it lists the patient balance (total amount due) as $460 with no math to show how that was calculated. It also lists a number of ways that the bill can be paid online, but when I enter the account number and birth date for the responsible party (the information requested for online bill pay), there is a message that it doesn't recognize the account! This is truly unacceptable, and our family will find another place to go for any urgent care needs. read more

Made an appointmen online. Came in and waited longer then I ever have without making an appointment and there was nobody else in the waiting room besides myself. The staff said it was because there was a "bad car accident." - sounds like they should have went to the hospital then. and it didnt seem like this was true as the staff were sitting at the desk laughing and talking. A NP, RN, LPN, or CNA couldn't have seen me? Made me very very late getting back to work as I made my appointment for my lunch break attempting to give myself enough time to get back to work on time. The check in process is great (check in and get a call back when they are ready for you) so you don't have to sit in a room with other people's germs. I had to go in to the urgent Care yesterday in order to have help for my back because I fell down the stairs in my home. When I got there to this facility oh, I was greeted warmly by the front staff as soon as I walked in the door I was taken care of promptly and brought right back into a room to be seen. but before I go back into the room I'm going just to explain to you what I saw in the front that is there for you to enjoy as a patient. They have free coffee, they have water that is purified, and they also have a slushie machine if you feel like pounding yourself with sugar and just for variety sake they have blue and red. Very nice seating very spacious and they also have a flat screen TV for you to watch television while you wait as well. I was able to go to the room and have my vitals taken buy an extremely friendly MA and was also very attentive to all of my medical records past prescriptions everything along those lines. Then, I was greeted very friendly by the doctor when she came in and everything was explained perfectly I knew exactly what they wanted me to do and they listen to me. Over all this was an excellent experience and they helped me out with everything that I needed I left there very happy. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who would like quick fast friendly service and who does not want to go and sit for hours in an ER at a hospital. Thank you for listening read more

This place is amazing. I stopped in around 2:30 and there was no wait (I'm sure after 5 this changes) I was in and out within 15 minutes. The girl at the reception was very kind, the male nurse who came in before Dr Tara was great and the Dr herself was awesome. Everything was very clean and they even have a slush machine! My son has a sore throat, upset stand nausea. My mother is in rehab for physical therapy, so I wanted to make sure he didn't have strep or anything contagious. First, they told me it was an hour wait and they would call my phone when they were ready. At home I had to register, including taking and uploading my license and his insurance card. They called. We went over. I had to go through the entire registering process again. This took at least ten minutes. Two other people got ahead of us because it took so long. Waited in the room for just under TWO HOURS!!!! Finally had to leave, as I had another appointment. Had to sign a doc for leaving without seeing a provider. Didn't get my co pay back and they won't send us results of strep and COVID tests the tech took swabs for! Go anywhere else!!!!!!!! read more

Went in today because I wasn't feeling well with a sore throat. The front desk was so friendly and accommodating. It was 8 am (amazing hours of operation, by the way), so I went straight in and a PA and nurse saw me right away. As I walked to my exam room, I took note that the waiting room has coffee, water, and a slurpy machine. The exam room was extraordinary clean and there was a TV playing Mickey Mouse's Playhouse (perfect way to distract myself getting BP checked and throat swabs taken). The PA and nurse were kind and thorough when explaining diagnosis. They also did not want me to start medication on an empty stomach so they brought in snacks for me to line my stomach with. This may have been the best care I've ever received and exceeds all standards of an urgent care facility. read more

This place has set the bar high!! Absolutely amazing atmosphere. The staff were so friendly, accommodating, and professional. I was in and out within an hour (I made an appointment online) for my sons ear infection. The staff is experienced and caring! They have a slushee machine in the waiting room which was so different and rad--then a Pac-Man machine in the other waiting room...Two days after my sons visit he is feeling much better--I received a text message from the urgent care asking if he was feeling better to reply 'OK' or 'call' to have them give you a call to discuss further concerns. Sorry to say was extremely disappointed in regards to service provided. to start off it was suggested that due to reliability of testing associated to the rapid test that i should consider taken the more standard yet longer result time test. which i and my mother both took. testing portion was done in a timely manner with no issues. the time awaiting to speak with the PA was over 20 minutes. i was informed that i would be notified of a positive test result for both my mom and i. in addition i would be able to online after approximately 4 days or so to receive results. i was given three sheets of paper for each of us. i placed paper work in vehicle and left there for the next 3 days. i then decided to get papers and attempt to access the mybostonheart url and check status. it was atbthis time i noticed that one of the sheets provided had the SARS-COV 2 Carestsrt rspid Antigen Test results. the result for both was NEGATIVE. My concern is twofold. 1. The rapid test was not requested. 2. Why was i not informed of both negative results. At no time was i informed by the PA or any staff. read more

Absolute nightmare trying to receive a COVID test before returning to school. The first night I was told to walk in, 3 hour wait, I said I'd return in the morning. I got to the office at 7:30 (the office opened at 8). Looked at the sign on the door, it stated "use the QR code to sign in IF you are experiencing symptoms" if you don not have symptoms come into the office. So I got back into my car (because I have no symptoms) Got out of my car at 8, I was the second person to walk in and was immediately turned away told I need to make an appointment. I asked "even if I am not experiencing symptoms?" The person told me yes to go online and make an appointment. Made an appointment online only to call at 5, to confirm my appointment later in the evening. No appointment existed. Frustrated, disappointed and concerned on the lack of clarity during such a crucial time. read more

My granddaughter and I had been trying to get a COVID test for several days. We were told to make an appointment on the website at midnight after the computer resets. We both did that separately at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday night. I got an appointment for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 1/6/21 and my granddaughter did not get an appointment. I went to my appointment at 7:00 p.m. I was greeted at the reception desk by a very sweet young woman who took my information including the fact that I had been experiencing headaches. I received the rapid test and the standard test which takes 3-5 days for a result. My experience was extremely pleasant except for the fact that my 15 minute result (negative) took 45 minutes instead of 15. No biggie. On Wednesday midnight I booked an appointment for my granddaughter for 10:30 a.m. Thursday. She got to the facility early, waited until 10:30 and went in. She was never sent a text 20 minutes before her appointment. She was met with hostility from all three women behind the counter but mostly from a blonde woman with fake nails and eyelashes. She asked my granddaughter if she had any symptoms of COVID and she replied that she had been having headaches. She was told that "a headache is not a symptom of COVID unless you've had a migraine for 4-7 days". She told her that they didn't take her insurance there and she would have to pay $290 for a test. She had been there in August after being exposed and they took her insurance. She told her that her grandmother was there last night and her only symptom was a headache and she was tested. The blondes response was "well I wasn't here so it wasn't me". My granddaughter was told that the only way they would test her was if she paid $290. The behaviors of the women behind the counter were rude and condescending. To have these employees dealing with people who are fearful and uncomfortable is outrageous. I only wish that I had gone with her. I will not be recommending this facility to anyone. If future tests are needed we will go elsewhere. read more

What a let- down! In dire need of a COVID- 19 PCR test within that 72- hour window in order to be able to get on a plane and fly to Europe so I can attend my father's funeral, I walked in early this morning and was scheduled for an early afternoon appointment. After waiting for ten minutes, I finally went inside and was rather rudely informed that it would take at least a couple of hours to be taken in. Had I not inquired about it, I would still have been waiting in my car until 5:45pm when I received a plain text saying, please come inside. This lack of respect and consideration to update my waiting status is utterly ridiculous if you ask me! Sorry, but that is clearly not how successful business is supposed to be conducted! Had two kids sick with the flu last week and used Well Now for the first time. Staff was very friendly and care was excellent. They had two nurses swab test the boys at the same time so it would be less traumatic for them. Slushies at the end of the visit made them incredibly happy and made the whole experience almost fun. We had to go back again yesterday for an asthma related complication with the flu and they took my child in right away without any wait. They tested his blood oxygen levels immediately and gave him the needed steroids to stop his attack. I was so impressed with how quick and compassionate they were. I was hung up on twice because I was talking to someone at the pharmacy about something they messed up on. The lady over the phone was very rude and short. The first voice message you get when contacting them says they are extremely busy due to covid and call times are delayed. When I walked in they were not busy at all and nobody was on the phone so that's a ploy to make them look like they are respectable and busy when they are neither of the two. 90% of them were huddled up in the back laughing and having a good old time not doing anything. I called 10 minuets after I left because the doctor messed up on the prescription. He was more into laughing it up with everyone else then paying attention to filling out the prescription correctly. This was my second visit to the place and I paid out of pocket both times. Both visits didn't clear up what I had going on. I called back ten days later because I needed a refill on the antibiotics. It was working but it wasn't completely healed. They insisted I came in and spent more money on a visit for some dude to talk to me like a guidance counselor to get a $20 prescription for antibiotics that should just be a simple refill. It seems like they don't care about your health all they care about it making money off you and that's that. I'm a very mellow even tempered guy so having someone give me attitude over the phone when none came from me is actually ridiculous. read more
