We optioned for the only rooms left 2 queen beds. Disappointing. When we finally got a room, after going back to the front desk, another person told us that the rooms WERE ready; however, there was still no king bed. He said he would comp our self-parking. (I rolled my eyes privately) (jump ahead......did NOT work when we drove out of parking to 40.00.). Restaurants were wonderful. All the services there were very good. LOUD. Really LOUD throughout the hotel. Food was wonderful, but yelling to speak to table guests. If you want to be in a nightclub for 24 hours, this is your place. But...at some point, maybe in the restaurants......lower the music a bit.

We waited over an hour to check in only to be told our room isn't ready yet and they would call us. Well we never got the call. We decided to use the pool while we waited. 6 hrs later still no phone call or text so we went back to the front desk to check and was told our room has been ready for awhile but we never got the call. So we would've waited for no reason. Good thing we're local and has a car. I can only imagine how stressful it would've been had we been visiting from out of town and have no car. I guess we would've checked our bags in bell desk if that's the case. Once we got our room it was beautiful! We had a good size bathroom, separate living room and balcony. The bathroom has a jacuzzi jet altho I was too tired from activities to use it. I just took a quick shower and hit the bed exhausted each nite lol The amenity is great! Long walk thru the casino and had to go upstairs 3 floors to get to the pool entrance but at least the pool provides complimentary cold water and towels. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and lots of slots machines, video poker machines, table games. Lots of bars to choose from. Their main attraction seems to be the chandelier bar which have millions of Swarovski crystals. Definitely a photo opp! We ate mainly at the convention room since this was a work event and the banquet staffs gave superb service. I even made friends with a few staffs. One of the staff member brought us a bowl of berries since I made a joke about my hubby always looking for berries lol sadly I forgot his name. Our company also booked our excursions as well which was attending the "O" show complete with open bars, dune buggy in the desert and party at Vanderpump nite club and pool. See why I was exhausted? Lol We had a blast tho. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. We can't wait to come back and stay here again. Hopefully next time there won't be a mix up with parking and shorter line at checked in. My only disappointment was that we didn't get to try their buffet, Wicked Spoon. I was hoping for ayce crab legs lol

When I arrived, by rideshare, I was dropped off at the front entrance. It was super busy and there were a whole lot of cars. I walked into the lobby with my luggage and went to the registration counter. The person who checked me in was awesome. After receiving my room keys, I made myself up to my room. I had to walk through the casino, and there were a lot of people inside. It seemed like a very lively place to be. I got to my elevator area and it was great because they have guards verifying that only hotel guests are entering the room towers. They have a scanning machine where you scan your room key to verify that you are a valid guest. This made me feel very secure and happy about where the conference chose to host us. I had stayed at the Palazzo before and I was super impressed with that property in this resort. Let me tell you the Venetian was five or six star to me. This place is super luxurious and well appointed all throughout. My room was absolutely fabulous, very clean, smelled awesome, and I didn't itch at all during the whole week of staying in this room and sleeping in this bed. The marble floors of the bathroom were phenomenal. The shampoo, lotion and conditioner, plus body wash was amazing and smelled wonderful. I will happily stay here again and I signed up for their Venetian rewards before I came. Unfortunately, my $1700 stay did not make it onto my Venetian rewards account for some reason, I even paid 2 months in advance. I went to the Front Desk of Venetian rewards when I checked out and they were not able to help me to apply the $1700 stay to my Venetian rewards. This was super disappointing and so I should have taken a star off for that, but the stay experience was awesome. The pool complex is amazing as well as the conference center. Everything at this resort is fantastic and I highly recommend going to the: Grand Canal shops to peruse, enjoying the gondola rides, the wonderful shops, being able to go to the Wynn property, and the Palazzo property, from this location, was all awesome. Venetian is my new LAS VEGAS GO-TO Resort!

There's a separate check-in area for The Reserve which I really liked. It was not crowded at all. Upon checkin, they gave me a coconut macaroon which was amazing! I did like that special touch. There are separate elevators going to the Reserve Rooms. However, it is still shared with some of the upper floors from Park MGM. I know that other hotels on the strip have separate elevators exclusively for separate parts of the hotel. I really enjoyed my Atelier room. It was a little bit larger than the standard room. The distinguishing factor about this room is really the bathtub in the room. However, the bathtub itself seems to be a liability for the hotel. I have to say that someone can easily slip and fall in the bathtub. Use extreme caution when using the bathtub. I loved the European french decor. The toilet was a little far away from the bed, but I suppose that is good if you are traveling with somone so when they went to the restroom, it would be less noticable (more privacy, less noise). Since they are hardwood floors, I can hear chairs being moved around from the rooms above me during my stay. I was a little bit irked. Other than that, my stay was quite enjoyable at The Reserve.

The most unassuming quaint hotel I've ever witnessed…read more It's easy to think that going to Vegas means you have to stay on The Strip--ease of transportation, proximity to the shows, and the ambiance of "the Las Vegas" experience. However, for those of us who come to Vegas often, staying at those hotels often means higher prices and headaches with navigating around the busy traffic. Having stayed at most of the larger hotels (The Luxor, The Bellagio, Encore at Wynn, Park MGM etc) I've had my fill of the dazzling lights and boisterous crowds. I do recommend you try these hotels at least a few times to truly soak in the bustle of Las Vegas night life. For me, I prefer to stay adjacent to, but not within, The Strip. This way, I can have some comfort in a quieter setting and can call an uber at any moment to meet friends along The Strip. This was the reason I chose Nirvana Hotel. Situated right next to The Luxor and The Mandalay Bay, it is both affordable and close to the attractions I come to Vegas for. The exterior is a bit off-putting at first. You aren't greeted with the pristine fountained welcome that you expect from Vegas--the wonderful precession of marble floors, the lush green plants, the ornate chandeliers. The main check-in station is inside the souvenir shop which resembles that of a run down gas station. Service is quick and the check-in process is painless. Their doors all use numbers so you don't have to worry about misplacing your card. Just don't get so drunk you forget! The room itself is very humble: queen bed, LG tv, two night stands, a small fridge, and a walk-in shower. Clean, organized, and arranged professionally. I will definitely stay here again. Connie was at the reception and welcomed me warmly. Parking is free. That's right. FREE. For your entire duration of stay.

I was gone early in the morning and was back late The minus was street noise from construction and I was there on trash day so the trash truck backing up at 5:50 Am was an early morning wake up call ( I needed to be up at that time anyways) No house keeping while for my two day stay I would be happy to stay here again

Even with the renovations in the past years…read moreit's still offers that classic "old school" Vegas vibe, but with a slightly updated cleanliness. Check-in here is almost completely automated, which I don't love, but they do have staff nearby to help with any issues. I stayed on the 16th floor of the Rush Tower;with a Strip and pool view. This was a King room and it was huge! Large king-sized bed, couch, desk area, mini-fridge, and a large bathroom. Very quiet with literally zero outside noise coming through the window. My favorite part of the Golden Nugget is their shark tank pool, but sadly the tank has a crack, so most of the sharks and fish have been removed, but the pool is still open. Their pool is small and only gets sun from about 10am until 3pm because of their new tower. On Fridays Tons of amazing food options are offered here. Everything from fine dining to fast food; the Chart House (seafood), Red (sushi), Cadillac (mexican), The Grille (24-hour diner food), and a Chick-fil-A that opened until 2am Mon - Fri. Definitely book a table at Vic & Anthony's, arguably one of Vegas' best steakhouses. Along with quick access to Fremont street and the local downtown scene, the Golden Nugget is a must stay if you've never been before.

I bragged…read moreabout this place and even talked my friend into staying there even though it was a bit more money. That was, unfortunately not my experience this time. The first disappointment was paying for our room. Now, you have to pay more up front just to choose your bed size or risk it for whatever they give you, like a cheap airline trying to nickel and dime you. My friend and I arrived to check in, we opted to "upgrade" to secure two beds so we really did not get "stuck" in a king bed to share. We got to the room and it looked aged and worn down (but I know it's an old hotel). But it really was not so clean. No toilet paper on the holder and only one roll on the shelf outside of the bathroom door. Hmmmm! The beds were not sharp and crisp to give the appearance of a freshly made bed. The shower was disgusting and I would never step foot in it. They were covered in mold with the paint peeling off the tub floor... So we had to walk all the way back to the front desk to change rooms. They have also started a self check in and check out kiosk system like Walmart. So to talk to a real person takes more time now. We got into our new room, which looked really nice the shower looked clean. But the shower doors were off track... we just dealt with leaving the doors open while showering. We stayed 3 nights four days. We had 4 regular pods for the Keurig machine. The friend with me drinks decaf, so we call down and ask for some decaf pods only to be informed it would cost us $25. We have 2 people for 4 mornings and we only have 4 coffees. They did give us 4 waters per day, which I really loved and appreciated but sorry, no coffee for one person and too bad if your body can't handle caffeine. I guess I should be grateful they gave us any coffee and didn't force me to pay $10 a cup at Starbucks, but come on... $8.25 for a coffee pod is outrageous. I will definitely try a different hotel on my next visit to Vegas downtown.

This trip we tried something different: stay at New York-New York and actually live there for the trip. Verdict: this property is the best home-base value on the Strip, and it starts with location. You're dead center on the south end -- MGM Grand, Park MGM, and the Cosmo area are an easy walk, the free tram runs to Excalibur/Luxor/Mandalay Bay, and anything farther is a quick, cheap ride. You're never far from anything, and unlike some mega-resorts, the property itself is human-scaled -- well-laid-out casino floor, everything reachable without the ten-mile indoor marathon march. The food and bar lineup actually delivers on the New York theme: good Italian, a great Irish pub, American, Chinese, a dueling piano bar (a blast), live traditional Irish music, and a range of prices from bargain to splurge so you can mix fancy and casual night to night. The move that makes the whole property sing: most of the bars run happy hour 2-6 PM -- four hours of options every single day. Nine Fine Irishmen's happy hour is the best deal in Las Vegas, full stop ($7 small plates that eat like dinner, $5 Guinness, and Tony the bartender who's worth the visit alone). Affordable base, premium location, real variety, and staff who seem to like working there. We'll be back -- probably without leaving the property much, again, on purpose.
