The restaurant choices on floors two and three are fantastic - special shout-out to the GM and staff of Scarpetta - exceptional and a must try if you haven't been. There is a coffee stop on the slot floor just past the registration area with a tasty dirty chai latte. Will stay here again (after I try the other MGM properties left on my list).

No, it wasn't the same as the ones in Venice (I know because I've been in Venice and ridden one of their gondolas), but you know that going in. You're in Vegas so I didn't expect the same thing. I was looking forward to the Vegas version of this classic ride and I got it. Was it over priced? Yes. At the same time you get what you pay for. A fun ride around the camels in the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. There was supposed to be an photographer taking our picture so we can buy at the end, but his camera malfunctioned so we didn't get the shot. This was a huge disappointment as I'm all about pictures and I really wanted the opportunity to see the glamorous shot the professional photographer took and if it captured the. Moment like i had I would have bought it. Fortunately we weren't totally relaying on him. We brought our own camera and took the perfect shot with the gondolier in the background and the bridge when you come out. It was perfect. You didn't have all the busyness of Vegas in the background. I'm overly thrilled with my photo, I got exactly what I paid for a fun ride and the perfect shot to frame and remember this day. And yes, I really did frame it and it sits on my piano. As long as you know what you're paying for, it's totally worth it. And now that you've seen my shot and know that it's taken at the end of the ride when you come out from under the bridge, you can get the same shot too. Have fun and enjoy Vegas and the Venetian. I have stayed in the regular rooms and suites at both The Venetian and The Palazzo. The venetian rooms are more updated, but the Palazzo rooms are good too. The self parking has a lot of spaces but ingress/egress is easier at The Palazzo. However the valet parking here is faster compared to other resorts. The rideshare pickup/dropoff is good too. The casino floor is bright, clean, and good gaming variety. For the slots, I like that they have both old and new machines. I like the older "top dollar" and "run for your money" machines. I also like some of the new machines like KONG . They also have a great variety of video poker, blackjack, roulette, and craps! I have yet to play at the tables here but they have a good variety. The beverage service is good, but coverage/timing could be improved. I feel like some parts of the casino floor do not get as much service. They also have a great variety of food and restaurant options for all budgets. My personal favorite here is Estiatorio Milos. A close second would be SushiSamba. However, I have never had a bad meal here. I also recommend Sugarcane, Chica, Cote, and Smith/Wollensky. I still want to try the other options here! Overall great place to stay or check out. The room accommodations were a major highlight. The bed and pillow combination was the most comfortable I have ever experienced, and I really enjoyed the bathroom, which featured excellent water pressure in both the tub and shower. Dining was also a success--the street tacos, nachos, and ramen were delicious, and our breakfast of muffins, bagels, and coffee was spot on. The staff throughout the resort were amazing, and although the pool was a bit crowded, it was kept very clean. While we had a wonderful time, there were some lapses in room service that need improvement. Unfortunately, our room was not thoroughly cleaned during our stay: the table was not cleared after our room service meal, there was some trash left on the floor, and the bathtub had not been properly scrubbed. Additionally, we had to call for a refill on basic items like napkins. Despite those housekeeping oversights, we had a great time and are already planning our return to this hotel!

In town for a couple days, I booked my stay here with my wife, hoping for somewhere that would offer us options on-property we'd like checking out in case we didn't have time to get to the strip. This area of town isn't always fantastic, as we had less than amazing times at the Conrad, and across the street is the infamous Circus Circus which I won't get into lol. Soon as you walk in, I just love what they've done with the place. Elegant sculptures and architecture mixed with that really nice champagne and ocean blue theme really draw you in. The colors are relaxing, understated, ooze that luxury vibe. I didn't do any gambling but I liked the layout of the floor, they had a bar in the center too like a mini Chandelier Bar ala Cosmopolitan which was a nice touch. Given I booked through Amex Platinum they afford you a really nice amenity package that includes $70/day breakfast credits, a $100 towards drinks/food, wifi credits, and a pass apparently to the Poodle Room, a private bougie club with a dress code that unfortunately was closed only during the days I was there (super bummer!). We had a chance to eat at a few places, Vida, Chez Bon Bon, Komodo, all were really nice and good. Prices are a little high but this is typical in Vegas, the credits took the edge off so that promotion is a key factor in our visiting those locations. I would say though I'd love to see more restaurants open late, aside from Komodo. We were hoping to check out the washed potatoes but it closed too early. Also, while I didn't go, we had just got back from Mexico City last year and seeing Contramar opening a place up here is a fantastic addition. If they are anything like their MC location, you are in for a real treat with that. Absolutely killer seafood. The room which I got the upgrade for was stellar, we had a Panorama Suite, and it was by and large one of the best rooms I've had in Vegas, especially at the price I got it for. While the views are obviously not amazing given the location on the strip, I would definitely book that room again to host friends, etc. You do get to see the mountains which is nice at sunrise. They are a bit more secure at this facility, one thing I hadn't experienced in Vegas was the room key checks before the elevators. I understand the policy but I'd like to make special mention that when we came back from dinner the second night a taller dark skinned gentlemen, older, stopped us and was incredibly rude about it. We had no clue about the policy, and I mean I'm not stuck up at all, I'm a down to earth guy, but this guy acted like such a prick, I came back down to have a word with him about it. He had been swapped with two folks who were infinitely nicer who explained the reasoning for these checks in more detail and apologized on his behalf. Frankly, that's not good enough and management should really pull that guy off that station, you don't talk to people like that, and while it's not enough that I'd dog the property, less patient individuals definitely would. But I digress, this property hosts a lot of high end clientele, so they definitely take room security seriously which for some I assume is a plus. All in all I think this is a well kept property, with easy access to the strip, but enough local options to keep you busy during a short stay. With the added Amex bonuses, there is value to be found without a compromise to the luxury, I would definitely return here with pleasure.

One of the most underrated parts of Wynn is the art collection throughout the property. Housekeepers were great. *other Wynn workers (e.g., food/booze servers) were usually good and reasonably personable. *Wing Lei (Chinese Michelin-1 joint) had top-tier service and although we could only sample a small number of dishes, they were all copacetic. *due to last-minute vacancies, the Wynn upgraded us from a $400/night room to a suite that ordinarily sets big-spenders back to the tune of $1,150/night. *Great friggin' ice machine - on my floor - never let me down when flask-time came around! CONS: *the Wynn, even at their extant "nosebleed" rack rates, will effin' nickel 'n dime ya' (*coins on steroids) every gol-durn chance they get: -NO refrigerator in the room unless you want to rent one for $25 a night. (Yep- let's make it hard for guests to bring their own, reasonably-priced booze. And leftovers from "market price" (i.e., "mark-it-up") menu pickin's at various and sundry Vegas kitchens? Meet Sal: Monella! *The pool situation is absurd and offensive: Not only can't you escape the aural pollution that pervades the whole property (more on that later)...but it's actually hard) to find an unoccupied (and unreserved) chaise lounge. -I got KICKED OFF one because it was "reserved"....NO SIGN...NO ONE "claiming it"... *Gotta pay EXTRA for even a G-D pool chair - Hell, $500. $1,000, $1,500 a night - AIN'T ENOUGH! *Booze prices are beyond absurd! Paid $15 or so for a "pour" of ordinary Tito's vodka. Needed an ELECTRON MICROSCOPE to see the likker! (But I only did it once, as my flasks of Toki and Pikesville and a Hamm's 12'er...took care of me.) *The bellhops move at a comatose pace, and when we arrived, we were informed that there'd be a "slight delay" of 45 minutes in bringing up our bags. There's a separate check-in area for The Reserve which I really liked. It was not crowded at all. Upon checkin, they gave me a coconut macaroon which was amazing! I did like that special touch. There are separate elevators going to the Reserve Rooms. However, it is still shared with some of the upper floors from Park MGM. I know that other hotels on the strip have separate elevators exclusively for separate parts of the hotel. I really enjoyed my Atelier room. It was a little bit larger than the standard room. The distinguishing factor about this room is really the bathtub in the room. However, the bathtub itself seems to be a liability for the hotel. I have to say that someone can easily slip and fall in the bathtub. Use extreme caution when using the bathtub. I loved the European french decor. The toilet was a little far away from the bed, but I suppose that is good if you are traveling with somone so when they went to the restroom, it would be less noticable (more privacy, less noise). Since they are hardwood floors, I can hear chairs being moved around from the rooms above me during my stay. I was a little bit irked. Other than that, my stay was quite enjoyable at The Reserve.

The lobby where we checked in was super dark and moody. There was a lot of seating and nice decor. It was chilly in there which felt like a nice escape from the Vegas heat. It was relatively quick for us to get checked in and receive our keys. This dark and dramatic theme is carried throughout the hotel and to the guest room areas too. We were put in Rm 30-24, which we converted into an adjoining room with Suite 30-22. Our room felt small to me. The bed takes up the majority of the room with little walking space. There is a desk, flat screen TV, sofa, and small wardrobe. The closet is pretty spacious and has some robes, slippers, and a steamer. The sofa was very stiff and honestly looked a bit dingy. There were crumbs on the seat and the pillows were incredibly old and limp. I was hesitant to sit on it! The closet felt disproportionately large for the room. I would have preferred a smaller closet to have more space in the room itself. The rooms and hallways are all so dark. There is no overhead lighting, only tiny lamps throughout the room. I am personally not a fan of this as it made the room feel even smaller and claustrophobic. I understand they are trying to make it feel ambient and moody, but the way it was presented felt more like sleeping in a cave. Inside the closet was the brightest area of the hotel! If you choose to have a conjoined room, it is impractical to keep the doors open. When the adjoining doors are open, it is impossible to use the doors facing the hallway. Everything was cramped and the doors were constantly banging against each other. The bathroom was nice with a spacious shower. The water pressure was slightly better than average, but not super strong. They provided the usual amenities: shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower gel, cotton swabs + cotton pads, makeup remover wipes, and a shower cap. I must say, the shampoo and conditioner were spectacular. My hair felt super soft and had no frizz when it dried. It smelled very nice too. The rest of the hotel was just okay. There is not much to do besides lay at the pool and gamble. It is pretty quiet and laid-back. That being said, the casino was pretty small. I did like that it was non-smoking though so it was not suffocating to walk through it. I enjoyed the pool area. Despite it being a hot summer day, there was plenty of seating and lounge chairs available. The music the DJ was playing was really good and the pool was super chilly. This is definitely not my first choice for a Vegas hotel but I could stay here again.

This was a King room and it was huge! Large king-sized bed, couch, desk area, mini-fridge, and a large bathroom. Very quiet with literally zero outside noise coming through the window. My favorite part of the Golden Nugget is their shark tank pool, but sadly the tank has a crack, so most of the sharks and fish have been removed, but the pool is still open. Their pool is small and only gets sun from about 10am until 3pm because of their new tower. On Fridays Tons of amazing food options are offered here. Everything from fine dining to fast food; the Chart House (seafood), Red (sushi), Cadillac (mexican), The Grille (24-hour diner food), and a Chick-fil-A that opened until 2am Mon - Fri. Definitely book a table at Vic & Anthony's, arguably one of Vegas' best steakhouses. Along with quick access to Fremont street and the local downtown scene, the Golden Nugget is a must stay if you've never been before.

Its $200.00 more . *bathroom has paper feeling off the walls, the tub Faucet was pulling out of the wall. * pillows are horrible, asked for a couple more to make them work. 6 hours later got them. * signs on wall say vending machines with arrows, NO VENDING MACHINE ANYWHERE ON FLOOR * pool closes at 7p.m. * hot tub not working the entire 8 days we were here. * the timeshare people set up by elevators, harassing each person each time you walked by. *maid service, when they freshen up your room, no clean sheets, we stayed 8 days. Maria was incredibly kind and surprised us by upgrading our room at a discounted rate. That was such a thoughtful gesture and made our stay feel even more special. She truly went above and beyond! We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant and spent some time at the piano bar. The food was delicious, and the piano bar was so much fun! It was the perfect way to continue celebrating. The only downside was our experience with valet. The attendants we interacted with came across as a bit rude, which was disappointing. Aside from that, everything else about our stay was fantastic. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay again. Thank you, especially to Maria, for making our wedding weekend even more memorable!

It seems as though their renovations have been completed. If you stayed here when it was the Mandarin Oriental, you will remember you had to go to the 3rd floor to check-in. WA kept that process until the most recent reno. You now checkin upon entry, like most places, however, you still go to the 3rd floor to access the guest room elevators and restaurant. I really love all the new touches and also enjoy the touches they kept from the previous franchise. The check-in staff was above and beyond friendly and looked for ways to make sure you would best enjoy your stay. After a long drive and plane ride, it's nice to chat with people who are genuinely engaged in getting to know about your stay. We had made reservations for spa treatments for after we are arrived and we thoroughly enjoyed that time. I would go as far as to say the WA spa is one of the best spas on the strip. Fabulous. The WA is a wonderful strip hotel in a great space and a lot of convenience in and around.

Speaking of location this place is in a very good location putting many establishments within a short walk or inexpensive rideshare. This is one of those hotels where there is plenty to do within the walls of the hotel........except gambling. There is no casino in this hotel as with many hotels and I enjoyed that aspect. The great part is that this location is located near what was once known as CityCenter and is now known as the Aria Campus. This is where plenty of newer buildings are located and plenty to do in this area. Check in and customer service were spot on. Of course, this being the Waldorf Astoria there are aspects of customer service you expect to find here that goes beyond other hotels. I especially like it when all your included amenities are explained without having to ask or even explain it to the front desk. The hotel staff comes early in case your room needs a refresh but if you leave your room later, they will leave a nice little paddle on your door to let you know they stopped by. It is very easy to reschedule a time for them to come back and may not be needed since they clean your room everyday. I mentioned to the front desk that I needed something and from the time I spoke with the front desk to going to our room on the 17th floor it was already in the valet door. A good stay but there were a few attention to detail aspects that could be worked on. I noticed there was a significant accumulation of dust at one of the vents. Also masking tape was used to keep the shower door sweep in place. Not something you would expect to see in the flagship brand within the Hilton Worldwide portfolio.
