As a Vegas native, this place holds a spot in my heart. Even with the renovations in the past years it's still offers that classic "old school" Vegas vibe, but with a slightly updated cleanliness. Check-in here is almost completely automated, which I don't love, but they do have staff nearby to help with any issues. I stayed on the 16th floor of the Rush Tower;with a Strip and pool view. This was a King room and it was huge! Large king-sized bed, couch, desk area, mini-fridge, and a large bathroom. Very quiet with literally zero outside noise coming through the window. My favorite part of the Golden Nugget is their shark tank pool, but sadly the tank has a crack, so most of the sharks and fish have been removed, but the pool is still open. Their pool is small and only gets sun from about 10am until 3pm because of their new tower. On Fridays Tons of amazing food options are offered here. Everything from fine dining to fast food; the Chart House (seafood), Red (sushi), Cadillac (mexican), The Grille (24-hour diner food), and a Chick-fil-A that opened until 2am Mon - Fri. Definitely book a table at Vic & Anthony's, arguably one of Vegas' best steakhouses. Along with quick access to Fremont street and the local downtown scene, the Golden Nugget is a must stay if you've never been before. read more

I used to love the golden nugget. It was a clean, beautiful place that felt welcoming. I bragged about this place and even talked my friend into staying there even though it was a bit more money. That was, unfortunately not my experience this time. The first disappointment was paying for our room. Now, you have to pay more up front just to choose your bed size or risk it for whatever they give you, like a cheap airline trying to nickel and dime you. My friend and I arrived to check in, we opted to "upgrade" to secure two beds so we really did not get "stuck" in a king bed to share. We got to the room and it looked aged and worn down (but I know it's an old hotel). But it really was not so clean. No toilet paper on the holder and only one roll on the shelf outside of the bathroom door. Hmmmm! The beds were not sharp and crisp to give the appearance of a freshly made bed. The shower was disgusting and I would never step foot in it. They were covered in mold with the paint peeling off the tub floor... So we had to walk all the way back to the front desk to change rooms. They have also started a self check in and check out kiosk system like Walmart. So to talk to a real person takes more time now. We got into our new room, which looked really nice the shower looked clean. But the shower doors were off track... we just dealt with leaving the doors open while showering. We stayed 3 nights four days. We had 4 regular pods for the Keurig machine. The friend with me drinks decaf, so we call down and ask for some decaf pods only to be informed it would cost us $25. We have 2 people for 4 mornings and we only have 4 coffees. They did give us 4 waters per day, which I really loved and appreciated but sorry, no coffee for one person and too bad if your body can't handle caffeine. I guess I should be grateful they gave us any coffee and didn't force me to pay $10 a cup at Starbucks, but come on... $8.25 for a coffee pod is outrageous. No shuttle. * called front desk to see about booking a couple of events with the desk. Decide on upgrades, enter your car plate # so the plate recognition system can apply free parking at check out. then it gives you your key and & go! If you ARENT familiar there's someone stationed there to assist. PARKING: Free for hotel guests! You drive in and it knows who you are ( if you've used Metropolis before) be sure you explicitly add your hotel stay/car info in that parking platform to ensure it recognizes you as a guest. Easy, no hassle. ROOMS: Very familiar, comfortable and CLEAN! They didn't need to change much here because everything was so well maintained. Beds are great. 4 free waters in the rooms and free Keurig. Minimal noise. POOL: Its a classic, their pool is always worth visiting. Packed, waterfalls on, and pure fun. We had a blast at the Golden Nugget. We booked a 2 story suite in July 2025. It was perfect! It was such a great room that I wish we could've have spent more time in the room. We didn't get access until 400pm and check out was 1100am so it was a quick one trip before heading to the strip. We had 3 people in the room with one sleeping on the couch. We also had a Cabana at the adult pool upstairs and that was perfect for escaping the sun when needed. Drinks are just as expensive as they are on the strip. $20 a cocktail throughout the hotel and pool. They did have $10 and $15 tables which was nice for a casual gambler. Golden Nugget is always chill and fun!! Room was very clean. We stayed in the Spa Tower so it was very quiet since our room faced the pool and not the street. read more

This is an amazing property in Downtown Las Vegas. Sits at apex of Fremont Street Experience. The lights, music and nonstop action are a sight to see! Hotel is clean and staff is exceptional. I loved that I was able to check in via a kiosk in the lobby. It even printed my room keys. You can get a max of four keys which will come in handy as I am always losing or desensitizing them! They have a Box Office for shows, tickets and events which is nice to have onsite. There's a beautiful wedding chapel and each room has a mini refrigerator. There's ice machines on every floor...very convenient! Also can get same-day dry cleaning and laundry services for a fee. There's a pool with a super large aquarium, an ice bar and plenty of restaurants and shops. The hotel has three towers with a variety of room types, including quiet rooms. Since Fremont Experience is noisy, they even provide ear plugs! Note room service is available starting Friday. My King guest room is newly renovated and features a sitting area, big screen TV, and a Keurig coffee/tea machine. Decor is very subtle with warm earth tones throughout the rooms and hotel. Casino on the main floor with a variety of slots, table games and tournament poker. Reasonable prices, with early check in for a nominal fee and room upgrade options. My family and I recently stayed at the Golden Nugget while celebrating a special occasion. My son, a United States Marine, was granted a rare four-day leave shortly after his 21st birthday so we could vacation together. Unfortunately, what should have been a memorable family trip turned into a very disappointing experience. Upon arrival, I paid to upgrade our room so we could have a coffee maker and be located near my son's room. Because his flight did not arrive until approximately 2:00 a.m., we stayed up late to welcome him. The following morning, at around 8:00 a.m., we were awakened by water dripping from the ceiling onto our personal belongings. Shortly afterward, the front desk called to inform us that the room above us had flooded and that we would need to relocate. Unfortunately, the customer service we received during this situation was unacceptable. When I asked if we would still be placed near my son's room, the front desk employee responded, "If you would let me finish," in a dismissive and disrespectful tone. We were instructed to remain in our room while new keys were brought to us, but after waiting more than an hour, no one arrived. During that time, maintenance attempted to begin drying the room with fans and water extraction equipment before we had even been relocated. After calling the front desk two additional times, someone finally brought us new room keys. At no point during this ordeal did anyone offer a sincere apology. I requested to speak with a manager about our experience but was initially told that was not possible. Later, Manager Erin returned my call and offered a food credit along with reimbursement of our room taxes and fees. While I appreciated the gesture, what I wanted most was a genuine apology and acknowledgment of how poorly the situation had been handled. After moving, we were placed in a room near my son's room as requested. However, we immediately noticed a large stain on the carpet that appeared to be blood. I promptly contacted the front desk and again requested a call from a manager. The same front desk employee answered and was once again rude and dismissive. Despite my request, no one returned my call. After waiting several hours, I went to the front desk in person to speak with someone. Although a different manager was on duty, I was again met with a dismissive attitude rather than concern for the issues we had experienced. I had to request the stay be compensated and although they said they would refund thru Expedia, it has not yet happened and we are now home. Overall, this stay was extremely disappointing. While unexpected maintenance issues can happen at any hotel, the true measure of customer service is how those situations are handled. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism, empathy, communication, and accountability from much of the staff overshadowed what should have been a meaningful family vacation. Extremely disappointed with this hotel stay. We stayed for 4 nights, and not once were the sheets changed or the bathroom properly cleaned. The room was visibly dirty from the beginning -- dust everywhere, grime under the sink, and surfaces that clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time. We called housekeeping THREE different times asking for the room to be cleaned, but nothing was done. One day they came in only to drop off towels and leave a roll of toilet paper, then left without vacuuming, making the bed, changing sheets, or cleaning the bathroom. A supervisor even came up to inspect the room herself and admitted that housekeeping hadn't vacuumed or made the bed. To make things worse, housekeeping randomly showed up one night at 11 PM, which was completely inappropriate and disruptive. lack of cleanliness and customer service was unacceptable. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone expecting basic cleanliness or decent service. It's a shame because the staff is really nice and welcoming. I have been to Las Vegas over many years since 2001 and usually stayed on the Strip. Stayed at the Golden Nugget in downtown Vegas in the VIP area for a wedding at a Country Club north of the hotel. What can I say? Either you may love this hotel or not- nothing in between. I did NOT like this hotel and will explain why. 1) Check-in is all automated with one person for about 50 people checking in 2) The rooms were nicely appointed, but in very dark tones, which did not work with dark curtains that we drew over the windows the whole time we stayed over 2 nights. Why? 3) The NOISIEST hotel/apartment I have ever slept in- and I live in NYC and used to be in a rock band. We stayed on a high-floor one floor shy of the penthouse and the sound from the hotel and the ambient noise from nearby hotels and streets permeated the entire room through the double panes windows and the air shaft in the room. The hotel provided earplugs next to each pillow with a cute explanation. It didn't matter- it was non- stop booming noise. 4) Price and Location Some people love downtown Las Vegas- I would have preferred the Strip. I only stayed here because I was with a group and this is the hotel that was decided on. I stayed in the Rush Tower because I heard it was the newer more updated side. While I did have a larger room, the room was dirty. It didnt look like they vacuumed and they definitely don't dust. The bathroom looks nice in the photos, but in reality it's awful. Because the way they have the bath I think it makes it difficult to clean and so they don't. Also, the ceiling inside the shower has mold. To get in/out of shower, you have to be careful. The door handle that was on my showers door was loose, probably because people have to hold that to get out. I never used their internet and never used their pool. A very small pool for so many people. Still had to pay the"resort" fee, so ridiculous. read more

IF I could put zero stars i would! this was terrible. a friend and i had forgot our keycard in the room so we decided to go down the stairway, thinking oh surely we could or else it would be locked right? boy was we wrong about that. because when we got to our floor using the stairway, the door to our floor was locked?? so, we tried the other floors surely one of them has to be open? It was EDC weekend and I wanted a hotel close to my shuttle pickup. The Nugget was reasonably priced and only 5 mins away. Check in was on a kiosk but if you needed assistance someone was behind the desk. My room was in the Carson tower. It was huge compared to Vegas standards and had a vanity table perfect for doing my makeup. The bed was comfortable and the temperature was easily controlled by the thermostat. The only thing that showed its age was the bathroom as there were some areas of rust in the bathtub. Besides that the water pressure was great. They have great food choices in the hotel and a 24hr store inside. One of the exits opens up right out into the Freemont street experience so its perfect. I loved my stay and will be back. read more

We booked the Golden Nugget for our 20-year anniversary specifically because we love swimming and had heard amazing things about the pool, especially the shark slide and aquarium. Before booking, I even called the hotel to confirm because that experience was the main reason we chose to stay here. When we arrived, both the slide and the aquarium were closed. That was incredibly disappointing and honestly shocking considering those attractions are such a major part of the hotel's appeal. Unfortunately, the room experience was just as disappointing. Our room was missing basic necessities like hand soap, conditioner, body wash, cups, and a fridge. The room also clearly had not been cleaned properly -- we found someone else's socks and cologne left behind in the corner, and there was soap residue and blue cleaning product all over the shower. What made the experience even worse was that it took nearly 24 hours to get something as basic as soap, despite multiple calls and messages through the hotel text app explaining that this was an immediate need. For what was supposed to be a special anniversary trip, this stay was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. We will not be returning. read more

If you check in at the kiosk and your room isn't ready yet, they send you a text when it's ready and you can pick up your room key. Dining options were ok. They have a 24 hour grill that has some decent options. My favorite part of my stay was the pool with the sharks and water slide. Only caveat is that it can be hard to snag a pool chair. I visited LV to attend a wedding, and many people I knew were holed up in this hole. I stopped over to visit and I could smell cigarette smoke before I even went in. It was old, smelly, cheesy, and mostly a dump. The suite I visited looked like a room out of the 60's, and smelled equally as rotten. The swimming pool was closed as well. You get to walk past riff-raff, and street performers, and cigarettes every 4-5 feet. I'm sure this place had it's day, but that was 30 years ago. I was here with my family before going to the airport to leave. The only reason we booked this hotel was to see the sharks, which weren't even in the tank - something we didn't find out until we got stuck in the garage elevator with an employee. While trapped in the elevator, we were asked for our room number and whether we wanted them to call the fire department because it would be faster than the elevator company. Of course we wanted the fire department. The elevator company was saying it would take 45 minutes. We ended up stuck for about 30 minutes. Afterward, we spoke with an employee who said the only thing they could do was waive the resort fee. I asked if they could contact Priceline, where we booked the stay, and was told they couldn't, even though I know hotels are able to do that. The attitude we received during the interaction also wasn't appreciated. Priceline's listing didn't mention the shark tank being unavailable, despite staff claiming it did. Honestly, this would have been a 5-star stay otherwise, but the combination of the broken attraction, lack of communication, and elevator situation really ruined the experience. Refunding the stay would have gone a long way after everything that happened. read more

Pleasantly surprised! I am a longtime local who moved away years ago but visits frequently and typically prefer to stay far away from the strip or downtown. This trip my kiddos were pretty intent on staying here simply for the pool and aquarium. Anybody that knows Las Vegas, knows that the downtown area can be pretty sketch but that's just what it is. Golden nugget is definitely in the heart of downtown so you have to be ready to embrace the good with the bad. Depending on what type of room you book there's levels of sketch you can expect. We personally upgraded to the Rush Tower (mostly because of room size) but also because of quality. It's the newest and most upgraded tower and it has a completely separate entrance on the most quiet side of the property. A lot of people will complain because of the kiosk check in, but I found it to be a quick and effective method of getting things done. The casino is pretty easy to navigate and much smaller in scale compared to any strip property so finding things isn't exactly rocket science. The Rush Tower is tucked away in a corner of the property with a separate entrance and elevators. You need your key to access the hotel floors so there is that to give you peace of mind security wise. Our room was very spacious and super clean with a huge bathroom appointed with his and her sinks on the vanity and a toilet room separated by a door. My kids were in heaven. The beds are amazing and super comfortable with cozy linens and bedding. Honestly, the pool was just meh. As much as it looks like it's super kid friendly it's really just a small circular pool around an enclosed aquarium with a water slide. That being said, they got bored pretty quickly. Don't get me wrong it's a very nice pool but expect 90% adults day drinking and networking there. Although it was the reason we booked it definitely isn't the reason we stayed. The hotel is centrally located so parking and going to and from places is a breeze. There's also a parking attendant 24/7 so you don't have to worry about randoms just wandering the garage. Long story short, it's a genuinely nice property as long as your expectations are realistic. Yes, people are going to smoke in the casino and yes there will be some weirdos in and around the property (mostly at night) but it's still downtown and that will never change. read more

Our family took a budget conscience vacation to Las Vegas; we stayed at the Golden Nugget in DTLV. We felt that for the price we paid for three nights in Las Vegas the Golden Nugget was a great value. My ten year old son was amazed at the opulence of the hotel, this being his first time staying in Las Vegas. I like this hotel in general BUT why do I have to be harassed by timeshare people in the hotel before the elevator banks every single time I come and go? They follow you 40 feet, interrupt conversations, and they get way to close (like inches). I don't know how this benefits the Golden Nugget but it's the one reason I won't be staying here any longer. After 12 days of constant harassment going to my room and even at the front door at various times of the day, I am done. Get rid of these people!!! read more

I well-understand that the casino has vendors who can do as they please, but really? There's a little wine, beer, and liquor store at the base of the Rush Tower. Avoid it like the plague. A bottle of cheap merlot was $48+... and if you walk 700-800 feet to the ABC store just outside the Golden Nugget (on Fremont), you can buy the same bottle for $16.95. Sheer avarice. read more

Let me first start by saying I have stayed at the Golden Nugget many times and never have had issues like this. It started with making my reservation online with their AI functioning reservations robot. I booked my room for Saturday night on Friday Saturday morning. I received a text saying my reservation was canceled. When I called. They said my credit card failed. It's a brand new credit card that should not have failed. It turned out. It was their system who logged my credit card as a Visa and it was an American Express and that's why it failed when I requested to rebook the room. They told me that the special that I had booked at yesterday had expired and I would have to pay full price. I was beside myself after 30 minutes of speaking to an agent and a manager. They said they would honor the price originally given to me when I arrived and checked in at their kiosk, it charged me additional money. Then, as you can see in the pictures from the room, the bathtub was peeling and a little dirty. I asked for a rubber mat or something to put over the peeling material so I would not cut my foot on it and they told me they would bring me a couple towels to lay down in the shower. The refrigerator does not seem to be working the lights as you can see are missing covers on them and the best part was there was a dirty sock underneath the ottoman in front of the chair. Stayed here for a 50th Birthday Party, and to be honest the wife and I enjoyed ourselves, probably because we got a little alone time, but we will not be staying there again with all the options available Good- Vic and Anthony's was good and the service was on point, but this should be an expectation at a steakhouse like this. Will go to something else next time. Dealers in the casino were friendly and helpful OK- Rooms were fine but really nothing special, the housekeepers were nice and did a good job straightening up Bad- THE POOL. The shark tank is currently under repair so that is understandable, but a couple of the dealers kind of sucked honestly...there were open tables and my party went up and asked who wanted players and neither of them wanted us-they both pointed at one another and said to go to them. We are all industry professionals that consistently tip well and are all just moderate to light drinkers with our wives in tow. We played a bit then moved to craps- we weren't wanted CASINO HOST- They don't exist, they have a room and desk, but no one was ever there. A member of our party tried numerous times to connect and left messages over the 3 day 2 night stay- no response ( the front desk manager did assist them though eventually at checkout) The front desk told me to go to the office and there was a phone that would connect me and I could leave a message and they would get back to me. If it didn't work there was a QR code that we could use to contact them. The phone was just a landline with no connection. I used the QR code and it gave me a number. I called the number and the phone on the other side of the empty desk rang and kept ringing, after 3 minutes I went back to the front desk and told them " Look it's still ringing and the phone is literally on the other side of the desk in front of me" ( I showed a pic) he smiled. shook his head, and said sorry. Check-In & Out- To be clear the workers were helpful and tried, but they were severely understaffed. Bunch of Kiosks, some not working and 1 Person doing their absolute best dealing with easily 15-25 people at a time while guest would get increasingly frustrated WORST THING- After checking out we went to grab our bags from the bell desk right in front-as I was walking I noticed an elderly woman walking down the stairs by the entrance looking a little bit off- I understand that there are some elements in Vegas( homeless, drugs, etc.) that might make someone tentative to assist, but this was a well put together lady who was obviously a guest (not that it should matter). She proceeded to fall and I caught her completely and brought her safely to the ground. I straightened her legs and held her head. A family member who was checking out was distraught but not very helpful- i sat there holding her head for easily 3 minutes before another guest checking in came to help( she was an er doc thankfully) and we got that she has some BP issues and is a diabetic, we asked the family member is she has a glucose monitor but she was still in a panic but we got her to look in her purse, after a couple of more minutes security came with a first aid kit but it didn't have anything that could help- i asked the security member if they had a pillow so that we could place her head down and he said " Does it look like I have a pillow?" very rudely. We were literally 10 feet from the front desk at 11 am on a Tuesday,and the employees just stood there and watched- no help, no visual concern. The family member had a plastic bag with clothes that she gave me that I was able to use as a pillow. My wife and I had to get to the airport but the man at the bell desk did say " Good Catch" read more

First Class. The staff is all about your comfort. From the minute you drop your car off to valet parking to checking into your room it's all first class. We up graded our room and the California King bed is just awesome not to mention the size of the room and the enormous TV that comes with it. read more

The incident that occurred at the first of February still has no resolution, never head from anyone from security or the hotel about housekeeping going through my belongings and stealing wallets out of my closed backpack. I've tried several times to contact management which only directed me to security and the security team will not take my calls nor answer my emails. As far as location goes, this has become my go to hotel of choice when visiting Vegas. Located in the Downtown area, which is very lively, it keeps us away from the Strip. The hotel has several towers, most of which are off the casino floor. The main attraction when visiting in the warm months is the pool with a slide though a shark tank. The pool is enjoyable, however seating is limited and mostly first come first serve. However, there are seats available for a fee should you arrive later in the day or just want to sit with your entire family/group. The hotel rooms have been updated and overall very clean. The casino floor is always the place to be whether you are gaming or watching. Weekends, are next level and security to get inside the casino is tight. Several restaurants are located on the ground level. There is a small gym and spa facility. This place has something for everyone. Good option for families, couples, friends trip or should you be visiting solo. Also, prices are reasonable and parking is included with in and out privileges. read more
