He gave us the lay of the land, telling us all about the trees, shop, fire pit with hot chocolate. So impressed by the hospitality the entire visit. We bought a beautiful tree and a few items from the shop. My wife and daughters enjoyed the cocoa and fire pit with a great conversation with the owner. These people were the salt of the earth and have a great product. I don't think you can go bad with any tree you get there. Amazing we have lived in the area for 3 years and never knew it was there. Funny note we get ice cream less than a thousand feet from the entrance. I will go back every year now! Did I mention the cut tree selection was amazing? You would think I work there with a review like this but I just love the way they run their business and care - so many businesses forget that people are the heart of a business - the team and the customers... When it bloomed in the spring of 2020 it was half dead. They told us it would correct itself in 5 years (which is incidentally outside their guarantee). But we wanted it replaced under their guarantee. We went back and forth for 6 months and now it is time to plant. I offered to pay half the cost of a new tree and they said they would give me a proposal. No proposal given and now they are unresponsive. I would avoid them for anything other than Christmas tree which they seem to be good at

When we first pulled in it looked busy not much parking. When we got closer it was more like a junk yard than a tree farm. It was riddled with old tires, snowblowers and tractor parts. When I asked where they cut your own trees where I was blankly told "Anywhere we got like 30 acres" the trees were scarce and scattered among the property not much of a selection. The grounds were not well maintained and filled with thick vines,brush and pricker bushes. My mother in-law actually took quite the fall due to the amount of over growth! We walked around for a bit to find quite literally nothing! Then we made our way up front to see their selection of pre-cut trees only to find they get them from Canada, and charge double the price of the trees on their farm. Needless to say we will not be returning to Houde's anytime soon. We ended up leaving and going to Frommer's in Lancaster they had a beautiful selection of reasonably priced Christmas trees!

It's our first time buying a tree and we had no idea what to look for, and the team here was helpful in explaining the differences in types of tree, the sizes, and upkeep. We were able to buy the tree and get the stand set up, and they wrapped it and helped us take it to our car. So far, it seems to be doing okay. There's some needle loss but I can mostly tell only by looking at our floor and the needle collection - the tree still looks healthy and robust. Good first time experience!

In addition, they sell tree stands and lights. We walked into the tree lot and gladly helped ourselves. The tree prices are both online and on a chalkboard up front. Before you pick out your tree, I recommend you look at the prices so you're not sticker shocked like me when you go to pay. I get that things are more expensive these days but I was not expecting to pay $230 bucks for a tree that measures at 7 feet tall because they're counting the trunk of the tree (1 foot). Maybe this is common? I don't know - enlighten me! Anyways, I am happy we got our tree and I know I will love to have it in our space. But if you're not looking to lay down a a decent amount, you might want to explore your options. If you're looking for convenience and you're ok with the prices, this place is for you. A friend stumbled across the website for this tree farm and let us in on his secret find. The farm apparently has been around for 20 years though it is new to us. The sign and entrance are not all that visible from the main street and Waze has the location off slightly, but after traveling down the winding drive you're treated to an expansive view of Christmas trees dotting a bucolic farm that abuts stabled horses and broad open fields. The owners are extremely accommodating and quite proud of the variety of trees they grow. Compared to the average tree farm, it does appear that Riverwind has a much broader variety including an interesting Turkish fir tree that is very full and composed of rich, deep green colored needles. My family and I had a lot of fun walking along the various fields including crossing a small river to reach the most remote areas of the farm. The trees are not on top of each other like at other farms and there are a variety of sizes available from as short as 5 feet to his tall is 15 feet. Only tagged trees are available for purchase and the prices weren't cheap but were by and large on par with other tree farms. The sales hut has handmade and manufactured Christmas ornaments. Homemade wreaths and greens are available as well. In addition there was free hot chocolate, hot cider, and cookies for the kids. The staff have all-terrain vehicles available that I think could be used to help haul your tree if you are unable to use the hand wagons they provide. Saws are also supplied if you don't bring your own. The staff provide complementary tree trimming, shaking and netting and will bring your tree to your car. I'm not certain they'll actually secure it to your car though since I had brought my own straps and did it myself. The owners pay close attention to details with the netting being green and red in color as opposed to the standard orange. I almost regret writing this post as I figure the masses will learn of this great farm and we'll be on the hunt again next year for a new Christmas tree source. Finally, there were some ready cut trees available for those who can't find their ideal tree or don't wish to cut their own.

I noticed this year they are selling timed entry tickets because it's been getting more and more packed every year. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was manageable on day 1. The selection of shops they have this year is GREAT. I noticed a few more local vendors which is what I had envisioned all along. One of their new vendors is Curio Spice from Cambridge and I was thrilled to see it. I stopped by a Malaysian sauce shop too and even had some samples. They were all so tasty that I ended up buying something for myself and a friend. The shop run by a Cat Cafe in New York was super cute. A great place to shop for all cat lovers in your life. I ended up getting some cute socks for my friend's birthday. Not sure if this is new this year, but I even saw a crafting corner. Looked super cute and fun. I couldnt find a place that I had visited before - a chocolate shop--Chequesset Chocolates I think, so I stopped by the informational booth. The person who was working took time to help me and was super friendly. This year I didnt have any of the food but the area was filled with people who looked like they were enjoying their snacks and cocktails. Overall, the vibe was great - the music they play is a nice touch. I would def recommend the Seaport Holiday Market to people who dont mind dealing with crowds and who are willing to dish out some money. You can find some things that are reasonably priced for sure but a lot of it is a bit more than expected. A tip: I noticed they have a bunch of porta potties. That is not my vibe so if you're like me, there are a number of public restrooms within 5 min walking distance from the Holiday Market. One is at the new Amazon building next to Lakon Patisserie and another is in the office building next to Tatte. Happy shopping!
