The order process was very straightforward and the flowers were delivered on time. However, the arrangement did not look anything like what was advertised on the website. They do say "Your Special Day-Standard-As Similar as Possible" but why advertise something that is isn't going to look like the special day cake arrangement. You will know when you see the pictures. Such a great experience! I needed a quick bouquet for my niece's dance recital, and Larry did an amazing job. I asked him for a simple bouquet with pinks and purples in a given price range, and he really tailored it every step of the way. From the flowers to the baby's breath to the tissue paper and ribbons he wrapped it in, it really was beautiful for such a reasonable price. Larry answered the phone call I made to inquire about a basket of fruit, and Larry was so kind to explain what he does and what he would put in the gift basket. I wanted 'a little of everything' to give my best girlfriend a smile as I cannot get to visit her now with her hospitalization limitations. I haven't been to every florist but they are absolutely the best in my book. They're giving Winston Vibes on an budget; arrangements are gorgeous and made on the spot, and the flowers last for over a week. They just did a corsage for my daughters prom and they matched the flowers perfectly to her dress so you can tell it wasn't something sitting on a shelf and that it was especially for her. I am from the west coast and was looking for somewhere that would deliver a nice, easy-to-care-for plant to my son who is currently going to college in Boston. I found Olympia Flower Store online and placed the order at night for delivery the next day. I woke up early the next morning to find a voice-mail message from John (sp?) who was calling to tell me they were out of the plant I ordered but asking whether he could replace with something else. I called him back and he could not have been nicer. He explained to me why the other plant he wanted to replace it with would be even better for my son to take care of and assured me he had even made a change to the card I had written out to reflect the correct plant reference. So, it started with great customer service. Then, when my son received the plant and balloons later that day, I was so pleased with the end result - great looking product, too. Neighborhood flower shop owned by two of the nicest brothers. Their staff is incredible. The floral designer Kathy is one of the sweetest people you'll meet and if you haven't met Johnny your life isn't complete. He is the funniest and realest person in there. YOU RUINED MY DAUGHTERS BIRTHDAY!!!! I would not suggest this Florist at all if you are requesting a dependable Florist to deliver flowers to your loved ones in a timely manner. As a person placing my order from out of state, I placed my order after confirming the night before if this would get to her on time, both ladies, the one who confirmed and the one who took my order this morning said it would. Even confirmed the timeframe of between 1-2PM. When I called on the status of the flowers, some guy said that the delivery guys had already left for the day, I f*ing placed my order at 9AM, no one was delivery flowers then. If you cannot fulfill an order YOU SHOULD HAVE SAID SOMETHING, I could have gone somewhere else. BUT YOU ARE SO SELFISH and would rather ruin peoples day and just take the order. ***Warning: long review incoming*** I am a returning customer, but unfortunately I had a very poor experience this time around for Valentine's Day that inclined me to write this review. My partner's favorite flowers are gardenias. I am aware of the difficulties getting gardenias around this time of year, so I called Olympia Flower Store on 1/16 to place my order for a Valentine's Day bouquet with a special request for gardenia's instead of white roses. I explicitly ask the associate who is handling my order if this is possible, and was never told otherwise nor of any potential difficulties. The order would be completed via pickup on Valentine's Day. Given that I called nearly a month in advance, I thought I did the right thing and should be set come Valentine's Day. Right? Come late Sunday night during the Superbowl on 2/11, the shop gives me a call that I missed. I checked my voicemail and was informed that it would be very difficult and did not seem likely that my request for gardenia's in the order would be fulfilled. They told me that in the event that the gardenias could not be found, they would make the order regular and I can pick it up or decline the order. My immediate thought is that why am I being informed of this only a couple of days before Valentine's Day? Wouldn't this have been something that should have been known earlier during the couple of weeks since I placed my order, back on 1/16? The following Monday I called 15 other flower shops on the thin chance that they had any gardenia flowers, and was told no dice and/or I would have had to called well in advance. Per same time, I am working with Olympia Flower Store through multiple back and forth phone calls. The whole time during this back and forth they express to me the difficulties of getting gardenias and that they will check with their whole sale supplier to see if they have it. I will note that throughout the multiple back and forth that I felt like I kept getting put off/was getting strung along without a clear indication of the status. Come Valentine's Day (2/14) I was supposed to get a final call in the morning of on whether they were able to find gardenias. No call was received. I called the store multiple times to check on the status of my order, whether they were able to locate gardenias or if they just made the order regular. My calls kept going to voicemail. As I wasn't able to get a hold of anybody via phone, I went down to the store in the afternoon because I needed to pick up my order regardless. After arrival, it turns out they didn't even have my order ready for pickup, and it was clear that there was some miscommunication among the staff there probably explaining why my order had not even begun/was ready for pickup. I heard one of the store associates state among each other "If you had told me about the gardenias, I wouldn't have forgotten." I was at a loss of words for what I was experiencing. Another store associate told me that they would make it up to me and make my order on the spot now. I believe it was one of the store owners, Joe, who made my order without the gardenias. When Joe completed the order, I told some of the details of what happened with my order, and he told me "I don't know what to tell you." Overall just a very frustrating and disappointing experience as it was very clear that there was a lack of communication and poor management on my order. It definitely felt like my order fell through the cracks here. On the one bright side, shout out to the gentleman with the glasses whom I worked with at Olympia last year on my order and remembered me. read more

Total Rip-Off Don't waste your money, I ordered three Mother's Day special vase arrangements from Olympia Store. One Premium arrangement for $60 and two Deluxe for $50 each. I have included the pictures from their website and the actual arrangements , almost half in size compared to the website description and measurement, you can judge fir yourselves. When I complained that these were not the same the store clerk blamed it on Covid. Sure, you get jipped and its because of Covid now. What can I say, I went in to order funeral flowers and I left happy and crying. Yes that's right happy and crying. I came in and was greeted by this bubbly man who name was Jon. While there he helped me and my mom order flowers for the funeral of my dad. He was so kind and was attentive to our needs, he gave us cookies from the fridge and shared with us the history of the store. He introduced us to the designer Katty and told us not to worry. He said they don't do ugly. As we we chatted more with him and Katty they had us belling laughing in tears. I never thought we would laugh let alone smile again. As we went to leave he handed each one of us a rose and they said sorry for our loss. With that Jon asked if he could give me a hug, and I said sure. I new in that moment my dad was looking out for us. I don't know if he knew how much that hug meant to us and the laughs that him and Katty provided us but it meant the world. read more

Worst experience with a flower shop. I ordered a sympathy bouquet of flowers for a friend's fathers passing. It was supposed to be delivered in 2 days. I get a call the day before delivery that they do not deliver to the address. Why would the website let me order and take my money if they didn't deliver to the address. They tried to say if I ordered a more expensive bouquet that they could get someone closer to deliver. I declined. Would not recommend this shop to anyone as I think they are scammers. read more

When the girl I was sending them to sent me a thank you Snapchat message I noticed there were fewer flowers than I anticipated, nonetheless they were high quality and she was stoked. I called the shop anticipating having to have that awkward conversation but as soon as I started explaining what happened the man immediately needed no other explanation and offered to send a second shipment SAME DAY to her of more flowers with a whole other card She was absolutely through the roof happy with getting two flower deliveries and the guy at Olympia didn't try to give some lame excuse for what happened and way quicker than I anticipated not only fixed the situation but went over the top to make us happy I will always use this spot and I highly recommend read more

This little flower shop has gone through some major changes since I first moved to the South End. A few years ago it was located where the 7-11 now is, and looked run-down and completely unwelcoming. Now? It's spruced itself up, located on the other side of the 7-11 and has a very cute little store front. I've bough many a flower here for a pretty decent price. In fact, I have some mums I bought over a week and a half ago sitting in my dining room, and they still look great! The gentleman behind the counter is very helpful and does a great job putting together my selections into a nice little bouquet. Side note: on the walls of the shop are old photos of the Mass Ave and Washington Corner. It's pretty cool to look at how that corner has been transformed over the last thirty or so years. Now ordering from another location I can trust to make up for this lack of quality arrangement... I came here with my brother to buy a bouquet for my mother's birthday. It was a milestone bday so we wanted it to be special. When you walk in, you may think you've stepped back in time, as the store seems old, empty and overall nondescript. At first, the people behind the counter acted like we weren't supposed to be there (we did come in about 30 minutes before closing), but then warmed up and ended up making a gorgeous arrangement of flowers from a descriptions of what we wanted and within our price range. I will say, leave a little extra time than you might normally, but you will get a better product than other stores that do a quickie. They seem to have later hours than most florists and there is metered street parking. read more

I remember when Olympia Flower Shop was a big store that took up the whole corner of Mass. Ave and Washington St. in Boston's South End. What a store! My mom bought flowers for my dad's funeral and my sisters' weddings there, and ever since, we've been using them for whenever we needed flowers. I was saddened to find that after the South End do-over, Olympia had shrunk in size. Well, at least they're still here. The folks are very nice and will go out of their way to satisfy you. With all the construction and renovations going on in Boston, you're a great old community icon, Olympia, and I hope you're around for a long, long time! The owner provides great service, answering all questions and making sure I get the plant that fits my apartment's needs. This place is the greatest. I have actually only bought house plants here and all of them are thriving and look great. The people who work here are such characters, sometimes I go in just to have a quick chat (I live across the street). If you buy plants they always help you box them up so you can carry them easily, and in the winter they would wrap them in plastic so they wouldn't freeze outside. Prices are totally reasonable. This place barely deserves 1 star. I walked in one afternoon inquiring about wedding flowers. The man at the counter told me to come back later because the woman to talk to was busy with another customer. I said I didn't mind waiting and asked to see some example catalogues. They handed me flower books from the 1980s and ignored me. When I had a question, the man was very brusque, gave very vague answers to pricing questions and then when another customer came in, so he just walked away from me. I waited a few minutes, but when I was squarely ignored by several workers, I walked out. Not sure why they ignored me, but the notion that they would completely ignore a potential high profit wedding contract in favor of a get well bouquet is ridiculous.
