RACIAL PROFILING AT ITS BEST ! If I could give this place no stars I would. My friends and I were RACIALLY PROFILED at this grocery store. When you walk in you can tell that it is upscale with a lot of organic options. I live in one of the downtown buildings and been wanting to go to that grocery store and try it out. A white bald employee followed us all the way from the back by seafood where we purchased a $30 fish, to the cash registers where we paid for our stuff and outside. He stood right outside the store door and was watching us put our stuff in our cars. That is unacceptable! He did not even have the decency to be discrete about it. They need to do better. I don't know if it was because we were black or speaking another language IT IS STILL NOT ACCEPTABLE.! DO BETTER ! Your black customers deserve the same respect and decency

Come for lunch and grab some groceries while you are here too. Amazing healthy choices around every corner. Fresh meats and produce. The food court area is quick and convenient. Definitely a great spot to stop for lunch

Five stars for the food which is always fresh, tasty and nutritious. Also , the staff because they are incredible at their jobs, going the extra mile or kilometer without being asked. Update: Stopped in today ,9th of February, and was greeted by Brianna. She asked if I needed help. i always do. She walked around the entire store , with my list. Brianna is helpful, thoughtfull, bright person. THANK YOU for the help. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g33851-d7817936-r358749539-Elm_City_Market-New_Haven_Connecticut.html#

I know many people will say they can be pricy BUT you find the most delicious little things here like the pastries, already made food (hot & cold) they carry a lot of vegan stuff which you cant find much at stop and shop and etc

Worst experience! The ribs I got are already bad and stink. The manager refused to refund. Will never come to this store.

I experienced a bizarre incident of near stalking and bullying by the manager of Good Nature Market…read moreon Broadway at approximately 2:30am on Thursday April 9 2026. They failed to accurately present the price of an item, I pointed this out at the counter to the entirely polite cashier. The cashier told me that an item (package of single serve Oatly packages marked to be sold together with a single expiration date on the package) was meant to be sold individually not as a package as it was marked, and he wasn't sure how much it was. He called the manager over. I point out that the highest priced Oatly was a little under $6 where they had packaged it and that their sign by the cashier clearly states that if an item rings up for a higher amount they will give the item for free up to $20. I was happy to pay the amount it was marked for or the amount of the highest listed Oatly. The manager, who is rarely in the store, told the cashier it was twice as much. I calmly told the cashier that I had been coming here for a decade (he knows me) and if this is the way he is going to do business I will not shop here for at least 3 months. Once I said I was discontinuing the business transaction, while the cashier remained a calm, normal human being, the manager began yelling, shoving his finger towards my chest, waiving his hands like a maniac, bitterly yelling at me for deciding not to shop there anymore. I respectfully told him, sir, please calm down, you made a business decision and I am also making a business decision not to shop here for at least three months given the false advertisement. The manager spiraled into a threatening tantrum and followed me out the store into the street. I would like the store owner's contact so I can report the incident. I do not tolerate threatening bullies when I trying to shop, especially at night.

Side note: The bathroom situation should be addressed, dim lighting with graffiti and unsanitary conditions on the floor and in garbage.
