Four Seasons is a hidden win for breakfast in lunch in Branford. Convenient location on Route 1 with lots of parking. Fantastic, sunny, spacious sitting area - and 6 picnic tables outside for nice weather. Serve yourself from the salad or hot bar, with 2 or 3 daily soup choices and at least 8 hot entrees (plenty vegan, gluten-free, etc). There is also a deli and grill, which I've never used. Where else can you get 2 footlong hotdogs and a side of fries for, like, 7 bucks? Nowhere but here, don't even try to think of anywhere else, you'll hurt your brain, GRANDPA. Seriously, this place butters my parsnips -- if you catch my butterfly. It's mostly a grocery store for hippies (as in, should I get the seaweed tablets or the soy protein sprout loaf?) so if that's your thing then, like, knock yourself out. Yours truly Peter Periwinkle doesn't know anything about hippie markets. But I *am* a connoisseur of fried food, sandwiches, etc. So this flower child grocery has this little grill in the back. They'll make you all kinds of stuff and it's all *delicious* and *cheap* and then you go and eat it in this beautiful, quiet, spacious sunroom. Plus there's a big buffet and salad bar. I think the Four Seasons Market Grill is a reminder that food is at its very finest when it is inexpensive, tasty, and prepared right there in front of you. I like this place for getting a healthy lunch when I'm out on the road. They have a salad bar and some times I just get some carrot sticks and hard boiled eggs for lunch. Sometimes I get a kombucha. I'm trying to re-engineer my gut micro biome. I used to get a dollar chicken sandwich and Diet Coke from Wendy's. This is much better for me. They also have some hot prepared food. Last time I got some cooked vegetables in a balsamic sauce and a bit of chicken with curry flavor and red peppers. It's very healthy, lots of vegetables and not very expensive at all. I also like that it's quiet and not crowded like Whole Foods. It's a quick in-and-out and the guys at the register are pleasant. read more

Stumbled on this natural food market by chance, and very thankful. Family owned and managed offering supplements and other natural food products. They have a hot self service food section, and a cafe that offers breakfast, and lunch items made to order on the grill. The food items are excellent and they also offer gluten free items and vegetarian items. They also feature made from scratch 'treats' such as tiramisu, pecan bars, brownies and ... that are also delicious! If time allows in your schedule, they also have a comfortable inside dining area as well as a beautiful outdoor dining area that I have enjoyed and am thankful for, especially in our new 'normal' pandemic life! read more

Stopped in today and was pretty disappointed in this store. The narrow and odd directional aisles make it super difficult to navigate a baby stroller through. The prices are rather high compared to other area health food stores. Always check the dates on products. As I was browsing the pasta aisle, I noticed there was a package that had expired in April. It seemed like in the back of the store it was busier where they have a deli type of area where you can place orders. People were swarming over the hot food bar, which to me, looked lacking as many of the trays were empty, some lasagna type thing looked burnt, etc. Maybe they were swarming because there wasn't much of anything and people were super hungry to snag something for lunch. Off to the side, there was also some defunked froyo machines that have a sign on them that they no longer use them......then remove them? I ended up only purchasing two super small chia/fruit bars and my total was $4.02. Head to Guilford instead, The Fresh Market and FoodWorks are soo soo so much better than here. read more

I am obsessed with the salad bar in this place. Sure, at $6.99/lb it's not a bargain, but whole foods is usually a dollar or two more a pound, so whatever. I wish they'd have straight arugula at the salad bar. That would make my day. I haven't really perused the aisles for the actual merchandise, the salad bar is what got me in here, and that's what keeps me coming back. Eventually I'll branch out and try the hot bar, or the sandwiches, or buy some organic groceries. read more

Sometimes you only need a few good reason to show patronage at a store. This is the case for Four Seasons Farmer's Market. I can't say that Four Season's carries the freshest produce (although I always find enough fresh produce), nor can I say it carries enough variety (although I can find everything I need), but all I know is that this place keeps drawing me back. In thinking back, I found my three reasons for shopping here: 1.) A cashier named Dee. She's super friendly and will always greet you with a smile. She's not just about ringing up your pounds of apples, but she's willing to take the time to be a friend. One of the owner, Ping, is a cool guy to talk to as well. 2.) They carry boxes of seasonal fresh fruit. During the summer it was the champagne mangoes for $13. As far as I'm concerned these are the best, sweetest, mangos around. One box will carry you to a few weeks, and I eat them a few at a time. I have also made some new recipes with these mangoes (from salads to marinades). Now I love to buy their concord grapes. 3.) They carry odd and end items such as certain asian vegetables that I need for cooking, or Italian ciabatta bread with big garlic slices. I hear that they have good egg plant parm, but I don't seem to gravitate towards those. 4.) They offer free clases/workshops on topics of health. 5.) They carry organic foods (for those Trader Joe's fans). When you are not willing to wait in line at the A&P and if you happen to live nearby, this is the perfect place to come to for purchasing organic items or last minute items. read more

This market is conveniently located on route one in Branford. As a Branford resident I have been frequenting Four Seasons since they opened. They have never let me down. They have a good amount of health food products to choose from. The produce and fruits are fresh and prices are moderate in comparison to other health food stores. They are small hence its not for buying your whole grocery list. But specialty items are always there. Local brown eggs are available. My family's favorite is the hot food bar and the deli. It saves my life a lot of times after work, when I stop to get freshly cooked food or order wraps or burgers. The Eggplant parm from the hot bar is the best I have tasted! Their sautéed mixed veggies, and chicken are so tasty. They also have a sitting area that is convenient and comfortable. Oh, and Scones are a treat you shouldn't miss! Love this place. read more

3 1/2 stars...... I go here for lunch every now and then. It's a good place to go for lunch. large salad bar, and hot food bar. Sandwiches are OK. Prices are just a little high.... hence the 3 1/2 stars. $6.99 a pound for the salad bar. I used a small tin and it was still $9.50...for $3 more I could have gotten a bigger salad w/ blackened chicken and waited on at Donahue's in Madison. They do have a bakery section that looks pretty good, and everything is made on site. Won't do the salad thing again, but like I said...the sandwiches are OK, so I'll continue to stop in. read more

This place is such a wonderful healthy place for lunch. Hot & Cold salad bar. Inside or outside seating. A gorgeous garden setting. Lovely staff ( especially Jen who is the lunch person cashier.) She is always upbeat & has a smile. The prices are reasonable and they also have a Deli, making custom sandwiches. There's a sense of community, plenty of parking & I forgot to mention the Bakery. The quality of the food is lacking the soup is never great and always the same the grill isn't very clean. The store is ok they have some odd options for food like GF. Five stars to the Four Seasons! Great location right on hamburger hill. If you want a deli sandwich or the extensive salad/hot bar, this is the place. There are plenty of tables that are open for lunch and dinner. They also carry Vita Coca coconut water which i cant seem to find anywhere. The brownies at the check out counter are icing on the cake. This is a well-conceived market that carries a lot of excellent, hard-to-find gluten free items. The owners use them in their own bakery/deli business in the rear of the store. You can order sandiwiches, french toast, and the like to go or sit down and eat there. The regulars I've met are all old ladies with lovely dispositions, but I do so hope that a larger patronage is attracted. Great produce. Great place. From vitamins to a breakfast sandwich. They carry Boars Head cold cuts at prices that supermarkets should charge. Breakfast off the grill, fresh and the way you want it. The owners are nice and helpful. The hot and cold food bar is fantastic. How this place is not packed all the time is beyond me. Luch at a deli can cost you over 8 dollars, not here. Disappointed with how me and my client was treated at this business today. I called the four seasons market earlier today to see if they were hiring the associate on the other end was very nice she said they were hiring and it would be better to come down and put the application in in person I told her I was on my way ( mind you the app was not for me it was for client ) I get there and to my surprise an Asian or Korean man who seem either overwhelmed or just plan rude tells me that there are no applications even after I told him I had called and spoke to someone who confirmed there was, his attitude and demeanor was all wrong and left me feeling some kind of way. Anyhow this is my first and last experience I will ever have with this business may not mean anything to some but it said a lot to me. read more

I go here on my lunch break from work all the time, the food is great! I love the prices of their produce and the employees are always super friendly! I live fairly close so I feel that I should continue to give them a chance to redeem themselves. Unfortunately, they never have what I'm looking for and it's not like I'm in search for something abnormal. I also find their supplements to be disorganized with no rhyme or reason some are listed by ailments and others are alphabetically arranged. Basically the place is a mess and I find myself walking in circles. If you think someone is going to help you forget it. There is usually one person working, who basically walks you in the circles until you give up and leave. Stick to The Edge of the Woods in New Haven or Thyme and Season in Hamden. They both know their products well. NTM...if they don't have it the will search high and low for it. If they can't find what you are looking for they are happy to order what you need for free. read more
