My transmission wasn't shifting and I couldn't even get the car out of the driveway. Collin showed up and got the car into neutral and got in on the truck in less than 20 minutes! I was in a car accident and the driver at fault's insurance company is a complete joke. So when I called the dealership that I was taking my car to, they said they used Elmer's towing and could add it to my bill for when insurance paid at the end etc. It had already been hours at this point since the accident occurred, due to waiting for the cops and on hold with insurance for a live person, so I was over it. The driver Charlie was there in about 15 mins. His customer service was great, and because I had to ride with him to sign paperwork at the dealership he opened the door for me and helped me into the truck and made sure I was comfortable. If need be we'll definitely use them again! read more

My car wouldn't start and the AAA driver told me about Elmers auto repair Who would perform the toe and repair my car. I fully believed that I would need a new starter and as a stranger in the area I thought it would cost me much more money. My car although older could you please gently on a flatbed tow truck and taken to Elmers who looked it over and by the end of the day had given me a very reasonable quote to replace the starter and I authorized the work. The next day by early afternoon, I received a call that the car repair who is completed and although they replaced some other incidental repair items, there was no extra charge and the car has been reliably and quietly starting for three months now. The tow driver, John, what is a gentleman and not the least bit pushy and the company treated me professionally and performed excellent work for a great price. Of course, based on this Event, I will use them as my regular auto mechanic!! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I had a very bad experience with this business. Not only did they incorrectly asses the mechanical problem that my car was having, but the incorrect diagnosis would have cost me almost $200 more than the procedure that I actually needed. In addition, when I tried getting my car back in order to take it to a mechanic with reasonable and reliable services, I was told by the manager that I was being charged a $38 "inspection fee", even though NO work was done on my vehicle. Prior to having my car towed to this facility, an employee told me that their brake inspections were free (as it is at most businesses) which is why I took my car here in the first place. Elmer's bailed me out big time when I was stranded with a car that wouldn't start. I knew it wasn't the battery as I had lights, music and power. I had no response at all when I turned the key. In no time they had me on their truck and to the shop, where my issue was diagnosed and communicated. Steve, John and the guys were so helpful, respectful and knowledgeable. I had an accident recently, we called AAA who called elmers and took over 2 hours to respond. The officer called multiple times to check on the status of the driver. When the driver arrived he had said he got the call only 10 minutes prior. Due to the amount of stuff in the vehicle we were only able to remove necessities and had to return the next morning to retrieve the rest. I had documented everything in the car with pictures and had the cop check as well. We got to Elmers the next morning (8 am) to retrieve the belongings, there is an item missing that i clearly had a picture of the night before with only Elmers having access to the vehicle. They have dishonest employees and i plan to file a police report as well as more if needed Do not use the company unless you want to be ripped off and have your property stolen. read more

TLDR; service I received from Trey, was great- due to extraneous circumstances due to "irma panic" and recent break downs because of flooding damages last week, the time waiting was nearly unbearable. Geico's Roadside Assistance located them as my local towing company when my car broke down, having starter problems. Due to a back log of prior jobs, my ETA was 90 minutes, and then this was extended to about 160 minutes. After the long wait the tow truck driver, Trey, arrived. When directing his truck to my car, we got in a minor "fender bender", resulting in waiting for the police. after 2 hours waiting, the police dispatcher basically said they weren't going to show, as insurance information was already shared between parties, and they wouldn't be able to do anything anyway. they were experiencing a number of crashes due to panicked drivers hurricane prepping. Upon a quick inspection of my car Trey was able to get it started in less than 5 minutes. he apologized for the wait for police, saying if he had known the issue before hand he would have fixed it while we waited for the troopers who never showed. It was a quick fix that isn't going to hold, so he advised I get it to a shop as soon as possible. I will be trying their mechanics despite the questionable reviews because my interaction with Trey was exceptional. read more

Blew out both right tires and made a service call to AAA and was referred to this company. I explained that I was not in a safe place and that a safety priority should be placed on the call. Normally tows come within the hour, however, this guy shows up 1 hour 20 mins late. I have not clue why this company is in contract with AAA- they must not read the reviews. I have called AAA and also shared my concerns about this company. Rather than pulling my car with two flat tires up onto the tow truck bed, he drove it up on the bed on rims, and drove it off. Driver wasn't aware of where I had requested the truck be towed to. Not professional, drove with a friend in the truck who didn't appear to work with the company. They sent Mike out right away and he was there within 15 minutes and had the golf cart on the tow truck within a minute and quickly unloaded it at our house. The price was more than fair and was way less than what the other towing companies quoted us. I would recommend Elmer's Towing to anyone. read more

I don't like going to the mechanic because I'm always afraid they're going to say something like "Oh, ma'am your car's rotating schmittering blop switch has failed and it'll cost $400 to fix" -- it's all Greek to me. Well, it actually happened here. We took our PT Cruiser in a couple of months ago because the starter kept having trouble. They looked it over, replaced the starter and off we went. Well, it kept happening - although intermittently. We took it back this week. They had it for a couple of days and said they couldn't make it happen and as far as they were concerned, if they can't make it happen - it isn't happening (yeah, like we really love having the car in the shop for no reason whatsoever). Then they said they didn't have time "for this s**t" if we can't "prove" it's happening. (riiiggghhhtt, there is nothing we enjoy more than wasting other peoples time with make believe car problems.) We were then told that they think it's the flywheel. A few minutes later it's "the ignition switch is double engaging". WHAT??? We asked another mechanic what that meant and when he stopped laughing, he said he'd take a look at it. I'm not saying they're bad, I'm not saying they're good. What I am saying is this --- next time I need work done on our vehicles, it'll go someplace else. read more

Elmer's is a rip off. I was in an accident I asked the trooper to call AAA, Elmer's showed up in a timely fashion was very polite and assured me that they would handle everything. I received no help from the driver's Insurance co. that hit me. After 4 days I called Elmer's to find out how to get my car back to my house so that I was not paying storage fee's. I was told I had to pay $425.00 in CASH to get my car out.At this point I called AAA and asked if they were billed by Elmer's and they told me yes. I called Elmer's back and was told they were not paid by AAA.I then asked my insurance co. to help and they stepped right in. AAA told Elmer's that they were trying to double charge and that was not acceptable. My insurance co. GEICO took over and told the owner of Elmer's that they were coming for the vehicle and would only pay storage at $25.00 a day and it would not be cash. I wonder if all those CASH transactions are recorded and taxes paid. BEWARE bad place. By the way the owner said it was just a misunderstanding!!!
