I paid 367.00 directly to Whirlpool for a warranty on a washer they make that was to cover me for a repair and anything that might go wrong with my washer for up to a year. They sent Elmo Appliance repair to do said repair. I was out west and had my thirty year old daughter meet him the repairman. As soon as he calls me from my GATE and I give him directions to which building they are coming to, he says, "just so you know, if this repair doesn't work today, you will be calling your warranty company....Is it Newleaf? If it's Newleaf, Flamingo Repairs will be coming to service you." I thought it was odd that he was declaring before even arriving through my gate that if his repair didn't work they were not coming back out to guarantee their work. So we get him to the right building and my daughter guides him to a place to park and he says it doesn't matter where he parks because he's not going to be there very long. Again, how does he know he's not going to need to be there very long? He hasn't seen the washer yet. Since I'm out west, he texted me two pictures of error codes once inside, FO and E3. He sends a picture of the washer with four rags on the bottom and then a screenshot of what googling those error codes brings up. We then discussed on the phone the issue. He was agitated the entire time and told me, 'Lady, I fixed your washer. You aren't going to have any problems with it. It was unbalanced and I reset it so you won't have any more issues." He kept cutting me off when I tried to ask questions The whole reason I called was because it would run with no movement. No churning. It would fill and empty and that was it. I was baffled that he could see error codes but I could see none. I very kindly asked him how that was possible and because I could NOT see error codes, how would I know if it was a problem again in the future. Again, he was agitated and attacked me verbally and cut me off and shut me down saying my washer was fixed.He was extremely rude and told me I wasn't going to have any problems with it. When I actually READ the google explanation for the error codes he sent a screenshot of, it said that to fix the issue, you had to remove some clothes from the washer and hit start again. I texted him to say I couldn't understand why the consumer could not see that error code, because clearly it is a message for the consumer if it's telling you to remove clothes. With that he threatened me, "lady, I told you your washer is going to be fine. I have a sick son. I'm going to hang up on you now." And he did! He charged me 145 for that ten minute service call, hung up on me for asking a civil question and called Whirlpool to create a case against me saying I was aggressive with him. ( I was in Utah, he was in FL) the good news is that I called Whirlpool at the same time and complained about them sending an unstable and rude technician my way. They committed fraud against me. My washer doesn't even move the four rags if I run them in the washer but because he called whirlpool and created a case against me saying I was aggressive, guess what? Now Elmo Appliance Repair DOESN'T have to guarantee their work (that thing he told me before he even entered the property) Whirlpool will not send another company out at all because, catch this, that warranty I paid for is only good if the original company that they send will come back out to guarantee their work! IE) It's fraud! He's probably fitting four repairs in an hour since he's only coming for ten minutes per home. Five to six hundred an hour to run around and do housecalls but no repairs. I went to Angi to get a reliable and vetted repair contractor for my washing machine. On 10/13/2023, Elmo's Appliance Repair contacted me and came out immediately, he looked at the problem, (Elmo came out himself) said he could fix my washing machine with an Electronic Control Board, and ordered the part. On 10/17/2023 he returned and installed the part with a one-year warranty on the OEM Whirlpool part and a 90-day warranty on the service. He installed the wrong or broken part because the machine still will not work properly. He will not come back to fix the machine. He will not answer my calls or messages on Angi. He did not write an estimate and said he was guaranteed by Angi. That is not the case, Angi does not guarantee his work in my case. read more

Horrible and rude! We booked a service for our refrigerator through our Whirpool warranty. Our original requested booking day was for Saturday. Elmo calls me to let me know they do not work on weekends but they can come Monday. He quickly changes his mind and tells me that they have to order the part for my refrigerator and they will call me with a new appointment when the part comes in. How did he know what part to order if he has never been to my home to check out the issue?! I text him that I need an appointment for Friday as that is my day off. He texts me to call him to discuss the matter. I called him 2 times and it was going to voicemail. As soon as I text him that I'm available to talk, then he called me. He tries scheduling me for Thursday. I explain to him that no one is home until 5pm during the week and since I'm in the medical field I only get Fridays off. He states that his company is not in my area (Apopka) on Fridays and that what I need is an after hours appointment and I should have told him that from the beginning. I responded to him that I never told him because I wasn't aware I needed and after hours appointment since Friday is part of a working week. At this point I'm over it and call Whirlpool warranty. Plus, its been almost 2 weeks now trying to get them to come check my refrigerator. They inform me that they have a report that my service has been completed. How is it completed if Elmo has never stepped foot inside my house?! Today I get a survey from Whirlpool in regards to my current completed service. So, Elmo is unprofessional and a liar. Obviously he is reporting to Whirlpool that he has taken care of my refrigerator. Thankfully I informed Whirlpool warranty department about all this and they have kindly found another company that can actually come to my home Friday during the day. Elmo came personally, sent by Lowe's extended warrantee. He came on time and diagnosed the problem as the compressor. He had to check first with the warranty company and order parts. He called back a day later to tell me that the warrantee insurer said I was still covered by the Whirlpool warrantee and my work order had been turned over to Whirlpool. I have Lowes Protection Plan, and Lowes is the one who sent Elmo Appliance to come out and fix my Refrigerator. My fridge works fine for weeks stays at 39 degrees then temperature will rise to 70 degrees stay there for 7 to 10 days and return back to 38 degrees. When you call Lowes, Protection Plan they always have appointments the next day but when you call the service provider they are always booked up until 7 to 10 days and the fridge is working when they arrive. So Elmo came out and the fridge was still blowing at 70 degrees, before he even looked at the fridge, he said it was leaking freon. He looked inside and then opened up the back lower panel, took some pictures closed up the panel and said I was leaking freon and he will call Whirlpool because if he works on it, it will void my warranty, The next day I got an e-mail from Lowes stating my warranty has been canceled because Elmo Appliance reported to them I have a Roach Infestation . I called Elmo who denied telling Lowes that and I ask if he called Whirlpool and now he told me I need to call them. I didn't call because I knew it was not Freon leaking. To reinstate my warranty, I had to get an exterminator which cost $100.00 to check my fridge out and write a letter that I had no infestation which I did not. I finally got R & R Appliance and they fixed the fridge the problem was a faulty thermostat. SO WARNING DO NOT HIRE ELMO OR HAVE LOWES SEND THEM OUT TO FIX YOUR APPLIANCE. read more

The last time, he lied and then hung up on me. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! And he's a flat out liar - called our maintenance department and said we said we would have our dog attack if he approached the property. COMPLETELY NOT TRUE! Never mentioned or spoke of my dog. Elmo is extremely rude and arrogant. My service was scheduled for Saturday between the hours of 4:00 to 8:00pm. When no one showed up, I called to see if someone still intended to come and repair my washer. I was informed that he tried calling me the past three days to let me know he rescheduled it for Monday. He also said that he left me messages. I informed him that I never received any messages, otherwise, I would not be calling him now asking if someome was coming over. Also, the appointment for Saturday was schelued late Friday afternoon so he could not have been calling me for the past three days leaving messages since he didn't even have the appointment at the time or my information. He asked me if I was calling him a liar and I said I guess I am. He also said I was yelling at him when all I did was raise my voice to overshadow his. Elmo's is a fantastic small company. Got quick service on my GE refrigerator. Elmo ordered the part and it was installed the next day as promised. The problem was explained clearly to me and was as I suspected. So happy to have them as a resource to fix any other appliances that fail. I trust them to give me a fair assessment and a fair price. They have a contract with 4-10 home warranty. We called for a leaky ice maker. They never showed at the appointment time. We had to call them and they wanted us to trouble shoot the problem. When my wife tried to explain to them we need a service call they became combative and rude. read more

He did not fix my washer . He was contracted by Home Depot to come out per my warranty plan. He changed a part out . Instead the washer machine is worst . It was working when he got here 2 days latter it was not working. When I called he he acted like he didn't know who I was . I cannot begin to explain my disappointment at the lack of professionalism displayed by this company. We were provided with a 3 hour window for service and made arrangements to have someone at our residence present. We then received a call before the close of the 3 hour window that they had sent a text and made a call and did not get a response and therefore were skipping our home. There was no prior notice that we would need to answer a call or text to receive our previously scheduled service, particularly when it was still within the window they specified. Not only will I never use this company again, but I had made it very clear to Home Depot that their customer service was unacceptable. I urge you to find a company that works with a better of understanding of professionalism. read more

Our dryer was pretty much dead, and had already been seen by someone else. Elmo not only fixed it, he also explained to us what the problem was in the first place so that we understood what was going on.
