Came here for our elopement. Can't say enough great things about the inn. There was going to be a snow storm on the day we were to have the ceremony and the owners Mark and Kim were so flexible and helpful. The inn is beautiful and exactly the look we were going for. We chose the couple only elopement package and everything was very romantic and intimate. Very glad we chose the Elmrock Inn for our big day. Also the food here is beyond amazing. You can tell Mark really enjoys what he does and tries to get all his ingredients from local sources. They are also very knowledgeable about the area. Definitely recommend to people who are interested in elopements, regular weddings, or looking to have a quiet romantic get away.

An overnight stay includes comfortable accomodations, snacks, beverages, and a full vegan breakfast in the morning. We arrived just before 3pm check in time and followed the instructions for self check in provided by email. All doors are key coded for easy access. The Gray Barn Inn is big, beautiful, and clean. With lots of scenic views from each room of the valley below there is no bad room in the 5 guest room lodge with common area. Books and games are available for entertainment as well as guest passes provided to tour the farm sanctuary. Wifi is also available with password protected guest log-in. We toured the property before dark then headed to downtown Woodstock for dinner. Enjoy conversation with guests in the common area and feel free to bring vegan snacks or beverages of your own. Quiet hours are between 10pm to 8am. An amazing cruelty-free breakfast is served at 8:30-9:30am and prepared by the friendly and amazing Gray Barn staff. At 10am a personal tour is provided to meet with the farm animals and learn their stories of rescue. Overall I highly recommend the Gray Barn Inn. The money received during guest stays at the Inn is used to benefit care of and feeding the rescued animals at the farm sanctuary. It blends the feel of a rustic farmhouse with Scandinavian flair. The rooms are cozy but have an airy feeling. We stayed in the Curly Room which is on the second floor and has a balcony overlooking the river and valley. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the common space in the Gray Barn made for plenty of space to stretch out and relax. Leigh was an outstanding host, making a delicious vegan breakfast each morning, and gave us a tour of the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary, which the Gray Barn is part of. The Gray Barn is a beautiful place to stay on its own, but its location in the sanctuary makes it truly special. We can't wait to come back and stay at the Gray Barn again soon!

The farm is secluded and away from the road. We were greeted by Tim who owns the farm and he was warm and pleasant. The tipi is huge and there's so many nooks you can go and take nice pictures. It was a little chilly at night but that completed the experience. I had the best sleep. And of course, the best host was Clair (retriever) who followed us everywhere, toured us around the farm and even came in the morning to wake up my son with kisses. I highly recommend this place and I plan on visiting again with the rest of my family.

We got the breakfast package and both mornings they put together an awesome breakfast for us up at the main house. We stayed in Mr. Ed's Annex, which had a nice little kitchen (they supply most of the basics in terms of pots/pans/utensils, so don't feel like you need to lug a bunch of kitchen stuff with you) and an awesome steam shower in the bathroom. The bed was super comfy and the space as a whole was nice and cozy. There was a little backyard area overlooking the horse pen with a grill and hammock, but given that mid-March is peak mud season and rather chilly, we did not put that area to use. The chickens, goat, and dogs greeted us whenever we went outside. The goat took a shine to both of us as evidenced by his insistence upon gently headbutting us when we pet him. Up by the main house there is a hot tub, which we used twice - so relaxing! We definitely would come back again!

The robes and towels are thick, and the Amma hair products smell glorious. Amy left us all manner of good things to eat and drink, and we did not want for anything. She's an accomplished baker, and if you're gluten free, the blueberry muffins are really special. Situated just a couple of minutes from the Walkill Valley Rail Trail, The White Heron is perfectly located for any of you who wants to spend as much time on that wonderful area feature as possible. We did two hour hikes each day, one trek down to New Paltz and one trek to Rosendale. If you'd rather bike than hike, then don't leave yours at home! It's a short drive to NP, and then about twenty minutes down to The Ranch, for any of you looking to sky dive.

The Woodstock Inn on the Millstream was largely nice, though it had its pluses and minuses. The…read moreinn was clearly a motel in a previous life, as it had that lengthy structure with outdoor entrances to each room. The parking lot was gravel-based, so vehicles were parked a bit haphazardly, but the lot's spaciousness ensured that it was not really an issue. The hotel was right on the stream with a lovely grassy area dotted with Adirondack chairs, hammocks, and other ways to enjoy the view. The office was located right next to that little park and was also where the continental buffet breakfast was served. The small room had a great view of the water from its few tables. The breakfast options included various hot beverages, several types of milk, yogurt, berries, granola, pastries, breads, hard-boiled eggs, lox, tomatoes, cucumbers, and more. It was really the perfect few bites to start the day with energy and wellness. While the inn had a few larger cabins, many of the rooms were supposedly rather tiny, including ours. The room had a queen-sized bed, nightstand, wall-mounted television, and wooden desk with matching chair. There was a closet with some hanging and shelving space, as well as a hair dryer and coffeemaker. The room really left a lot to be desired from a space perspective, as it was hard to navigate. For instance, the room might have come with 2 luggage racks, but there was really only space for one. The bathroom was also tiny, and it was near impossible to use the toilet without sideswiping the pedestal sink on your way. The shower was a decent size at least. The bathroom came with fluffy towels and Aveda products, which were both appreciated. We also loved that the temperature and pressure of the water were phenomenal; in fact, the shower was like a fire hose! Though the room was small, it was SPOTLESS! Also, its individual heater packed a great deal of warmth. There was not an abundance of electrical outlets, but the alarm clock had one built in, as well as two USB ports. The extremely gracious staff had also left a binder of local recommendations for us on the table. The bed, however, was lumpy, and the pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. From a location standpoint, the inn was only a few blocks from either end of town, depending on which way you wanted to travel. The residential roads were very dark at night and many did not have sidewalks, so we definitely needed to be alert walking to and from the main drag, even though we knew the town was overly safe. The Woodstock Inn on the Millstream made up for its lack of amenities and small rooms with efficient, friendly service and clear dedication to guest satisfaction.
