Wow, I don't even really know what to say here, that's how amazing my experience was. It's absolutely beautiful. Year round it's amazing and it's fun in the sun during the warmer months. But something about being here during winter was...magical. High class, intimate, romantic place for your partner and you to have a quiet getaway. The bar has fun cocktails both in the mansion and at the pavilion. The food was PHENOMENAL. My favorite was the truffle fries. They actually used real shaved truffle on top instead of just truffle oil like a lot of other places, so I appreciate the commitment to the craft. Complimentary breakfast was *chefs kiss*. Fun night time hangout at the fire pits with s'mores and brick oven pizza all night. I need to come back and stay in those cabins, I stayed in the mansion and it was the best sleep I've had in months. But you know what the stand out feature was? The staff. From the greeters, to the bartenders, to the management, they really made you feel special. Efficient, attentive, warm and welcoming. I can honestly keep going about how amazing the experience here was but I think I'll cut it here, just go see for yourself. read more

Great the Pavilion is open again...yet who designed the Dinner menu to be SO Seafood heavy..Raw Bar 4 items, All the Starters are seafood, 4 of 7 Dinner items Seafood. Ok you can get a salad (sure add on Seafood or Steak) or sides that are all vegetables. What a disappointing weirdly designed menu. So if I had fish allergies or I'm a Vegetarian too bad. Being well versed in Food Service your menu is poorly thought out. This menu drives away folks that want to come to the bar and share apps and drink. The very small cabins are so beautiful and perfectly situated. Nothing overstated about that. But the beds are super soft and squishy, and the food was just ok. I expected better for almost $1000 per day. When we were there, salsa music played on the public beach nearby was LOUD ALL DAY. Not what you want in a retreat weekend. We stayed for a quick and spontaneous one night rendezvous and we couldn't have found a better spot to land. From our initial phone call with Angelina, we knew we were going to have a good time. Upon check in, we were greeted by Angelina who was helpful and kind and informative. She recommended restaurants, took the time to show us our room options before we selected, saw us in the lounge after dinner and turned music on for us and brought us board games to play. She really painted the ambience of our stay beautifully. Our room was cozy and clean and very comfortable and the grounds were beautiful. It was just the stay we were looking for. I've been here 2 times now and I'll say this is a truly magical place. It's hard to explain what it is. But everything about it is pitch perfect. Fabulous modern cabins, right on the Hudson, a magical restaurant called the River Pavilion, again looking right on the Hudson. Likely this would be the most awesome place to have a wedding or business retreat. The whole affair is hip and all the details are thoughtful. I'm already plotting my return. read more

Attended the Wool and Folk festival last weekend at this venue and it was spectacular. Such a scenic and beautiful setting. Plenty of parking and space, for both vendors and food trucks, that will allow the festival to grow. And if there is inclement weather, it is covered so the event can continue. read more

Stayed a couple of nights in one of the King cabins. It was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and very peaceful. Our stay was mid-week and off-season, and we had bad luck with the weather, so we didn't really get the full experience. But it was still a lovely stay and we definitely plan to return. Went for a wedding which was perfectly catered and a great location. The staff was excellent. Started with cocktail hour and was presented with a delicious rose wine not too sweet and not too dry. The appetizers were amazing. A mac and cheese bar with add ins of lobster, chicken and herbed breadcrumbs. An onion and cheese tart that my wife who's a vegetarian absolutely loved. Raw tuna, and a great selection of pate and cheeses For dinner, again my wife was absolutely delighted with dish and described as the best vegetarian entree she ever had. Thin layers of all kinds of vegetable plated in a sauce. For everyone else a sampling of salmon, filet mignon, vegetable and potato. Dessert was amazing. A baked donut selection, along with Creme Brulee , individual tarts (chocolate and lemon) with containers of cookies. Good thing we got there early and beat the rush! Overall the place is up and coming but there's more frustration than it's worth at this point. Our room was what you would expect for glamping, nice enough, with good views and working AC and water. No complaints there. However we booked the room a month in advance and then when we got there I realized we booked the wrong type of room. I went on the site to see if there was availability elsewhere and saw our room for over $150 cheaper per night for the nights we had booked. With no email contact to send the screen shot I took to, we were left with basically no option and eating a lot of money. Next I wouldn't recommend going during the week. The place shouldn't be open as they basically closed everything, no restaurant no spa and if we wanted bikes we had to call ahead and request. I would imagine it's better during the weekend, or at least would hope. read more

We just spent a spectacular weekend at the Hutton Brick Yard. Our very upscale cabin was flooded with light from floor-to-ceiling windows, had a heated bathroom floor, and many amenities one would expect at a luxury retreat (high-end toiletries, excellent bed, powerful AC) and some surprises (turntable with LPs). We thought the restaurant was a 5-star gem. The tables all face the Hudson River, so at night the lights across the water make for an almost magical setting. The food, wine and service were all exemplary -- two nights in a row. Afterwards it was on to the firepits for s'mores. All in all, outstanding. read more

I came here last month with my boyfriend for our second anniversary last month, just days after Hutton Brickyard's reopening. It was lovely. The rooms so were gorgeous, and the grounds were amazing. The first night, we were able to sit and enjoy s'mores at the bonfire. The next night it rained, but it was still beautiful. We had a river view cabin; the bed was comfortable and the bathrooms (heated floor!) were luxurious. Really peaceful to look out of our big window directly onto the river. I really hope that we can come back and visit soon. read more

Sloppy on details but a gorgeous property. However, when you charge north of $400 for a night in a trailer with a white comforter and a testy thermostat, the details are what matters. We can start with the inconsistencies, which extend to the drinks and breakfast that were delivered far behind schedule while a bike rental necessitated several reminder calls only to have them dropped off in the middle of the property. The front desk responds to text messages but from different numbers so there are several chains of requests, each uncommunicative with one another. Plus One star for the archery instructor who was both pleasant and knowledgeable in equal measure. Minus one star for the other staff who sounded sullen and like they'd rather be somewhere else. read more

Attended a function here tonight. It was supposed to be a cocktail party with hors d'oevres. We had one option for red and white wine that was served in plastic cups. Our food option was pulled pork or vegetarian chili. The crackers were stale and the platters of cheese, cold cuts, grapes and vegetables were not replenished. We left after 45 minutes. read more

Awesome spot and some gems of food that should have made our visit a great experience. But it wasn't. Two for dinner on a quiet Thursday night should not have left the staff so bewildered. We ordered some wine, a salad to split, the $9 bread plate and two entrees. Our server was not very communicative but did respond to questions. I ordered the chicken which the menu said would take 30 minutes. We received our wine and then about 5 minutes later someone who was not our server came with our salad, $9 bread plate and two entrees. We were startled and stammered a bit when the new server asked if this wasn't our order. We replied that it was, but at this type of restaurant we expected our $9 bread plate and salad to come first and then receive our entrees afterward. The alternate server was perplexed by this, but then someone else came by who understood this and very nicely told us not to worry they bring our entrees when we were ready. The salad was very good. The bread plate, did I mention it cost $9, consisted of three pieces of thick sour dough toast and a big chunk of butter with salt and seeds. The bread was not good. I got the roast chicken, and was worried that it had been sitting under a heat lamp or something for 10 or 15 minutes, but it wasn't the case. The chicken was excellent - it was a large half chicken and included the very noticeable foot at the end of the drumstick. No worries on my end - exceptionally flavorful and juicy, both dark and white meat. No one really came and checked on us or seemed to really care how we enjoyed things. And then when I paid the bill with a credit card they came with only the restaurant receipt for me to sign and leave a tip on - no copy for me. And, of course, no one came over who I could ask for the copy from - not a big deal, but just a few of the odd non-customer friendly vibe we got from our experience. Great spot, and nice idea with the history of the brickyard, and some of the food is excellent, but we probably won't be going back. And the prices were a bit high, but I think fair for what you got, EXCEPT the damn $9 bread plate. They should be embarrassed by that. read more

I really struggle with rating this particular restaurant. Let me begin by saying that it is clearly an up and coming establishment and there is a lot of potential for it to be a fabulous place. The location is breathtaking and the decor is upscale and inviting. The menu has many wonderful options to choose from and every dish that we ordered was delicious. There was great care taken in presentation and the flavors were on point. You can tell that the chef(s) takes great pride in their work. The other highlight of the evening was the bartender, Alex. We ordered one of his drink specials and it was clear that he enjoyed preparing it. He was so entertaining and we were amazed at how relaxed he seemed behind the bar even when things got busy. The disconnect for me is with the service, they seemed to be underwater the entire evening. I don't know if they didn't have enough help or that their staff is undertrained, but they were slow, disorganized and chaotic. Overall, our experience was good, but they need to make some adjustments in order to become a great place. They are definitely on track for success especially with their food and bar service, they just get need to get dining room service figured out. read more

We booked a 2 night stay. First night was good/fine, as to be expected for a $500.- + a night retreat/spa style cabin. The second night turned out to be just awful. Besides the ~20 private cabins, within earshot, there is a large event venue on the property, which hosted a wedding on our second night. We were not informed of that, when we booked our stay online. The festivities, which were of the standard dance/loud music variety, were going on well into the night. There was no escaping the noise. Any peace and calm was gone for sure. Whoever answered the phone at the virtual front desk, was unimpressed by our concerns. We were told that there was no management on site, and that the loud music wouldn't end until 11pm, well past the local noise ordinance. The next morning, a nice gentleman that delivered our breakfast to our cabin, told us that these weddings are happening practically every weekend during the summer. Not a minor detail to withhold, for customers looking for the advertised peaceful retreat. The primary source of income for Hutton Brickyards seems to be their wedding venue, and the cabins are only a throwaway line item within their budget. That is definitely how we felt treated, as paying guests. The callousness with which it was carried out and handled by Hutton Brickyards Retreat/Salt hotels, is infuriating. Stay away. read more

I read about this property I think he WSJ and immediately booked for July 4 weekend. They waited a month to call and cancel my reservation because a wedding was buying out the property and they were waiting to see if they needed all rooms. First, who would want to be the only non-wedding party on a property with amenities likely not available? Second, waiting a month to inform me of this basically locks me out of making other arrangements for the holiday weekend. Really really awful. They did offer me an upgrade on another weekend, but now I have time off work with nowhere to go. Just incredibly bad service. read more

I attended Field + Supply this year and was very impressed with Hutton Brickyards. It's very open and rustic and directly on the Hudson River. I think this would be a very unique place for a wedding due to the massive green spaces - typical for the Hudson Valley - the water views and the cool photo ops with the brickyard remnants. To repeat and emphasize: location is breathtaking. I'm still not sure how I feel about the hipster aesthetic of industrial ruins but it's a thing and they use it effectively. The food is excellent though on a few minor points they try too hard to make it hip and seasonal. So for example, the rice pudding was probably one of the best desserts I ever ate but really just needed nutmeg, not organic local blackberries; same for the cherries on the duck (though the mustard greens on the same dish were very enjoyable). This venue is gorgeous and the perfect setting for events. After attending the Scenic Hudson event, I'm convinced this would be an excellent place to share with my connections to have their wedding there. Not only are the views of the Hudson River gorgeous, but the rustic touches (exposed brick and remnants of the old brickyard) and the stunning greenery surrounding the site are perfect for wedding photos! There's a built-in bar, dressing rooms and a catering kitchen, and lots of options for the ceremony, the reception and guest socializing. Really, there are endless options. The food is fantastic although the duck with mustard greens and cherries had 3 baby mustard leafs on top of 3 pieces of overdone duck with 5 whole cherries. Could have used some sort of sauce. But my lack of stars is for the runner who brought our starters to the wrong table and left them in front of other customers and then reserved them to us after they advised that was not their order. We were celebrating our Anniversary and it completely ruined our evening having to wait 20 minutes to explain to our waitress that I was not about to eat these dishes after they sat on another table. This was completely unsanitary and particularly during Covid just totally grossed me out. read more

What they promised: "the comforts of an urban luxury hotel" "relaxing getaway on the Hudson River" "stylish and splendid accommodations" "essentials, indulgences, and whimsical items" from The Larder "afternoon cocktail service" "a delightful spot to relax" "a luxury retreat" What they delivered: - a creaky, spine-destroying bed that is quicksand-meets-marshmallow, sloping downward toward the place where the headboard should be but isn't - no top sheet (in the summer) - no extra pillows or towels - no comfortable place to sit in the room - one window (in the bathroom) that does not open - no screen doors on the front or back door, and no way to prop the back door open except with one of the Adirondack chairs (so the door handle is now where your head should be) or with the bulky-and-awkward deck table - no electric tea kettle, no coffee maker, no coffee cups, no cutlery, no kitchen basics at all except a cheap corkscrew and two wineglasses - the exact same breakfast every morning, cheerfully delivered - no fresh food, no local cheese, no sandwiches or any lunch offerings from The Larder - a barely functioning "in-room tablet," which is the only way to contact the main desk apart from your own cell phone (if you can find a signal) - "afternoon cocktail service" = cocktails in a can (Seriously. Target sells them online in a 4-pack for $12.99.) - dawn-to-dusk jet skis and speed boats on the river right in front of the cabins - kind and well-meaning staff who almost without exception seemed bewildered, unprepared and under-trained We were EXTREMELY disappointed with our stay at Hutton Brickyards 2-5 Sep 2021, so much so that we left early in disgust after 3 nights of a planned 5-night stay. We just could not face another night in the extraordinarily uncomfortable bed! Or the exact same thing for breakfast AGAIN - we were quite surprised that local apples or other seasonal fruit were not featured, or at least something other than a mediocre Florida orange every day. For $720 per night, we expected much, much better. It is unclear what HB means by "restful and restorative getaway," but incessant dawn-to-dusk jet skis and speed boats on the river directly in front of the cabins do not make for "a delightful spot to relax" by any definition. While HB likely cannot control the public's recreational use of the river adjacent to the property, they really need to adjust their advertising accordingly. Maybe the Marketing Manager should actually stay at HB for a few nights instead of pasting website copy straight out of the Trendy Buzzwords Playbook. HB's target demographic appears to be the Selfie Set with more dollars than sense, who may find the reproduction turntable, Edison light bulbs, and nasty canned cocktails just "splendid". Discerning grown-ups beware. Our experience of Hutton Brickyards was that it is an outrageously overpriced, underwhelming "concept" that didn't even come close to resembling a luxury retreat - all branding strategy and no substance. read more

We stayed end of Sept 2021 The Good- -Easy location with access to everything in lower Hudson Valley -Privacy of cabins -Quiet (mostly) -New and nicely appointed facilities -Great landscaping The Bad: -Cabins are hermetically sealed. No windows for fresh air and you will get condensation when it gets chilly -Flag for afternoon drinks is cool but we put it out 2/3 days and cart never came by -Screwed up breakfast order multiple times. I partly blame the tablet app which is barely functional. Overcomplicating things to seem cool. -Dinner order got lost so we waited 45 minutes. No one ever apologized for the delay -Breakfast is exact same every day. Got a bit tedious on day 4 -Beds are EXTREMELY soft. Back still in pain from it -"River View" cabin would be better billed as "back of restaurant view," with accompanying noise. This blatant misrepresentation is unforgivable. -They are also constructing some spa cabins near the restaurant so any hope for a relaxing breakfast on the porch was spoiled. Get a cabin 1-17 if you want to have a REAL river view -Weird that the don't have a full bar in the restaurant area as there is a whole lounge section read more

I've been here for the last 2 Field and Supply events and can't imagine a better setting. The place is very tastefully restored with new buildings mixed in with the ruins of the old brick factory. It's great to be able to get so close to the river. The views are incredible. Both events were very well run. The service at the bar was speedy and efficient with lots of great local options for beer and cider and some delicious cocktails. We were staying in the cabins. Last time I was here, check-in was there, but it's moved to the sister property. You have to drive to the other property to get keys. There were no keys in the welcome packet and the front desk employee did not know how to handle it and was unable to switch us to another room she had keys for. Keys can only be made at the cabin area. She radio'd, texted, then eventually got a call back from the person over there. The keys were apparently right there at the desk, just not in the envelope. What a waste of time. When I'm back to Kingston next, I'll be staying at the Kinsley. read more

Kingston, NY has quickly become one of my favorite Hudson Valley towns to visit, and Hutton Brickyards was the main draw. HB currently is a favorite wedding venue, but they are also home to the Field + Supply food & craft festival (memorial day weekend and columbus day weekend). If you're lucky, you can book one of their tiny houses for a night, weekend or longer. 4-star service and amenities in a fun group atmosphere. It's a great home base for a fun weekend getaway. This is an awesome venue space. Ive been here for Smorgasburg and Field & Supply events. Not too far from NYC but far enough that you feel totally transported. Just kicking back with a beer right on the Hudson River with a TON of food options. Its a real treat. The old buildings are massive and have been restored beautifully. Truly a weekend to remember. The view and ambience is amazing. But the food, oh my goodness, was extraordinary. We had spoken to the chef because of my husband's restricted diet and Paige was beyond exceptional. She prepared a three course meal for him which was over and beyond and unbelievably delicious. Probably the best meal he's ever had. My meal also was scrumptious (bread with amazing butter, the pappardelle to die for, bold wine), beautifully prepared and heaven on earth. We've had many meals in the Hudson Valley but this was definitely amazing and we thank the chef for catering to people and being so gracious about it. I cannot say enough about how much we loved our stay at Hutton Brickyards. They have some high-end cabins on-site and my husband and I stayed on the property for one night. My only wish is that we could have stayed longer! The cabins are beautifully decorated and the venue is a perfect spot for a wedding, corporate event or major festival. There is a campfire pit (they provide the wood), it's right on the Hudson and there are hiking trails next to the cabin. Cannot wait to visit again! read more
