Their cheese has different proteins than most store bought cheese so it's actually easier to digest. As a big fan of The Bear, I knew this was an event I couldn't miss. I've shared the full menu, but a few of my favorite bites of the night: The surprise bite: I truly wish this had been the size of a full ice cream cone. The salmon purée was creamy and flavorful, and the black sesame cone added just the right amount of savory crunch. Focaccia: The focaccia itself was great, but I'm really here to talk about the butter. Whipped "Orwellian" butter with ribbons of flavor running through it. This was one of those bites I wish I could relive eating. The person beside me had the good sense to ask for a to-go container, and I'm still kicking myself for not thinking of the same before they whisked my plate away. Caramel: Honestly, they had me at corn. But this was such a savory, rich, comforting bite--the kind of food that just warms the soul. Lamb: I was a little apprehensive about lamb covered in a tuna and anchovy sauce (tonnato), but somehow it really worked. It was one of those unexpected combinations that you just couldn't stop eating. And the lamb itself was incredibly tender. Overall, such an excellent event. The food was fantastic and really well-paced, and the chef and hosts were super friendly and informative throughout the night. In addition to their fun dinners and pop-ups, Wedgewood is, of course, as the name suggests, a cheese bar! I'll definitely be back sometime for a glass of wine, some cheese, and maybe even some butter.

Creating a cheeseboard is like a work of art, you want people to say, " It is too pretty to eat."…read moreThose are the words of Luiza Holland of Wanderlust Boards. We opened our wine and began to create our work of art. The first items on our board were small containers of olive tamponade dip and fig jam. Then, we cut triangular shapes of manchengo cheese and added slices of Brie cheese, one of my personal favorites. We added square slices of extra sharp cheddar cheese and crumbles of Gorgonzola cheese. Next, we fanned our prosciutto ham and made cute little fans of our salami. " Give life to the board, use different colors and shapes", said Luiza. We cut small bundles of grapes and added them to our plate. Then, we added blueberries, blackberries, and thinly sliced apple. Our work of art was coming to life. Olives were positioned next to the cheese. Then, we added artisan crackers. One had rosemary and the other cracker was a garlic cracker. Don't forget to add the pistachio nuts and garnish with fresh herbs. We used rosemary last night. It looked amazing and delicious. Luiza recommended shopping for ingredients at Wegman's, Trader Joe's, or Whole Foods shopping stores. She creates boards that are vegan or she will cater to specialty boards. Her business is only 2 months old. Luiza recommended a Malbec or Sauvignon Blanc to drink with our boards. You can contact Luiza at @wanderlust boards on Instagram. The dinner is the epitome of "Slow food" and eating local. Meet the goats. Hold the goats. Bottle feed the goats. Milk the goats! Learn the history of this local treasure that has grown to help support six other neighboring farms. And then dine. We started with a selection of six different cheeses made on the farm. Several of which have won awards and in my opinion, all of them were winners. This was followed by two different salads made from local greens and delicious vinaigrette dressings. The second salad was very unique combining carmelized red onions with goat cheese, walnuts, and a salsa verde: incredible! The entree was pulled pork with Asian seasonings along with vegetables and lime rice. Any description I attempt will be inadequate. You had to be there. It was absolutely delicious. Dessert was a rich chocolate Pot de Creme (fancy pudding). I'm insulting this decadent desert by calling it pudding. It's a good thing this is a casual dinner because we were all licking our bowls. The dining capacity has increased so reservations are not as difficult as in the past. You will receive a complimentary glass of wine and are welcomed to BYOB.
