When I started, I had never had a gel manicure before, much less a Russian manicure. The attention to detail is crazy, and the prep is basically painless. My cuticles and gel placement look amazing every time. Aside from the first visit when I started with bare natural nails which aren't as grippy, I've never had any chipping or lifting (and the first time, I only started getting some lifting after 3 weeks!). I go 3-4+ weeks between appointments, cook/do dishes/use a lot of hand sanitizer at work. My nails feel so healthy and strong. I usually stick to solid colors, but this last visit I wanted something special for Chinese New Year. I showed Aisha a set off pinterest and she replicated it perfectly! Really competitive prices. I already had builder gel on my natural nails so that they could start growing out but they started lifting (these were done at a different salon). My appointment was with Liam and he prepped my nails really well after removing the old gel and did a fill in for me. I also showed an inspo pic of a design I liked and they were transparent with letting me know that I didn't select the correct service option since the inspo I had needed a more complex design. So I went ahead and chose to do a single color cat eye and I love it (: I would definitely recommend going here! When googling around I saw they had this service listed on their website. I just recently moved to a building two blocks over so I stopped by to make an appointment to have them removed. Everything after that was chaos. They had no idea what I was asking for and treated me like I was doing something shady or weird, when it's a listed service on their website with a price and everything. Halfway through the service, they asked if I also wanted a manicure. I repeated what I told the woman at the front desk: my nails beneath the extensions are too weak and damaged from all the fill ins so I want to let them grow out a bit, but I wanted to have them filed / trimmed / shaped etc once the extensions were off so the would at least look clean. They told me this would cost extra. I gave them some side eye because that should be part of the price but told them that was fine. At the end of the service, the woman told me I was done and could go. I was shocked. My nails were a mess. Not trimmed, not neat, with edges literally cracking and hanging off. They didn't charge me for the clean up service, but I couldn't believe they were going to send me on my way with nails looking how they did, super damaged and ugly. I went home to finish the job myself. Additionally, they treated every other customer who came in way different. Other girls were offered little stools to put their bags on while mine was put on the floor right next to old nail clippings etc. Even if it wasn't for the terrible service, I wouldnt go back for the poor treatment alone. I was treated so strangely for asking for a service that they say, per their website, they offer. Luckily, primp and polish is only a few blocks away. I've been going there ever since. The space is clean and bright, the staff are friendly, and the prices are comparable. I will never return to nail of the day.

Went for gel mani and gel pedi. Elva Li (Nail Tech/Nail Artist) was READY as soon as I walked. she had the photo I sent pulled up, asked a few questions and got straight to work. Note that everyone leaves 5 stars for this place and its for a reason!! I have only gotten waxed by one person in my life- the goddess herself Irina. Irina is gentle, an angel, talented, profesional and the conversation you have with her is so genuine and makes the process so not terrifying. She's the Russian mommy I always wanted. She calls me a "baby" just because I always get scared before my wax and we laugh through the entire time. Lets be real- brazilian waxing is the scariest most terrifying thing a woman does (besides childbirth lmao) but if you have any reservations or are nervous, she will walk you through the process. Brazilians are done in less than 10 minutes, seriously. She plucks any other leftover hairs (never more than 1 or 2) and I also rarely get ingrowns. Never burns or rashes and I have very sensitive skin. It's always an immaculate job. I have lived all over NYC and Long Island and no matter where I am, I will always go back to Irina and Serenity. At this point, she is family. A million stars! I will recommend to ANYONE. Advice: Bring cash, and don't be late for your appointment. Use Tend Skin a day after wax and you can purchase it there. We were given a choice of polishes. Some came with an additional charge. We went for the one that dried within 5 minutes for an additional $10 each. My daughter and I sat side by side and had our manis. From start to finish the pedicures took about 30 mins. While my technician was applying polish, I noticed it was unevenly coated on 2 of my nails. It was supposed to dry in 5 mins and after 7 mins I touched the uneven coat and it smudged. I asked the technician to fix it and she did. We waited about 10 mins for the polish to dry, my daughter waited longer since her pedi was short. When we got home her polish is completely smudged. Overall I enjoyed the experience but dont think this is for me. Even looking closely at our toe nails long after they dried, there are spots of missing polish on my feet and smudges on my daughters decal.

Unfortunately, in a week, all of the gel nails have either chipped or completely peeled off. I do really light work with my hands and don't do anything that requires me to yse them agressively. I really don't have a problem spending money, but I paid almost ninety dollars with tip, and to have my nails completely destroyed within a week was very disappointing.
